Sorry to hear the sad news mate. Thanks for your vids. To aid your cooling, add a heat shield to your dump pipe, ceramic coat the dump pipe and also add a 70 degree thermostat so the whole donk runs cooler. Shrouding the dump will make the most improvement. Cheers mate
Sorry to hear about your Mate. My condolences to you and of course his family. Another great video brother, thank you. I didn’t realise how bad those tanks were. I hope my F6 doesn’t pop one.
My condolences also mate , incredibly hard to deal with. Most/many wouldn’t muster the strength to be bothered making a video but we (channel fans/virtual mates?) appreciate it. I lost my best mate who I’d grown up with at 19 (I’m 51 now) and just kept going doing tafe/working so as to not forget but just keep busy so the pain wasn’t as hard to live with. Mate really glad you did it under the circumstances was helpful with the tips (I’m no mechanic but enjoy playing) looking forward to the hardtop as a mate had one a couple of decades ago and they’re just a sweet thing. Would it be worth welding in a couple of bungs for a sight tube? Sorry for the long winded comment, take care buddy..
Cheers man, much appreciated. I thought about the site tube idea but it’s a pressurised unit, I’ll be fine with or without a catch can, just have to treat it like a radiator
Always keen to see a video from you, even if the circumstances aren't the best. Sorry to hear about your mate, i always say "gone but not forgotten", cant wait for some valiant content.
Sorry to hear about your mate he will always be remembered but never forgotten R.I.P. I look forward to seeing how the valiant is going. Mite even see some chopper parts on it lol. Have a great day. Choppersrule1
Sorry for your loss :( Just an idea an over flow/ catch can isnt really required just run as per you have with a drain pipe to the ground and keep new tank filled roughly to the same height or a touch more then the old one. Your factory header tank had a built in overflow port so new one is basically the same. Also you need heat shielding over your dump pipe thats the reason you were having issues melting header tanks. The factory n/a heat shielding over manifold is fine just need like heat wrap or something on the dump pipe or heat shielding around header tank and brake booster/ master as it will cause the alloy tank to get hot still and possibly boil coolant on long drives on hot days, also could cook your master cylinder and your brake fluid and have braking issues. I just run ebay special heat wrap on my manifold and dump pipe and a turbo beanie like yours and it worked fine on my track car that gets hot and cops a beating. Anyways hope this helps, keep up the good work mate happy car building :)
I was waiting for the champagne comedy moment when you were pulling the hoses off and knock your stick out ( not that I was wishing that to happen ) as always good content... cheers
I could be completely wrong but that hose coming from your turbo shouldn't be going to your reservoir it should be going back into the hard line going to the water pump to pull the hot water from the turbo back into the radiator. The 2 hoses from your reservoir one goes into the radiator and the other should be going to the top of the thermostat.
Hows the heat situation with the ute nowdays, has the metal tank served well? I notice nobody makes open badge-less grills for the B series falcons, so ive started making them in my shed.
Hey mate, could you please tell me if.you blocked off the boost sensor in the intercooler pipe that goes under the right headlight or did you wire into ?
Condolences on the loss of your mate.Great to see another video from you
Cheers man
