    These lights are incredible. From what I understand the newer ones have fewer LEDS.

    Can you guys do a live PAR reading on this fixture?

  • @Juan_Mattos
    @Juan_Mattos 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this post is old and this light fixture is discontinued, but I have to say is a real shame Orbit took it out of their lineup; yes, is a bit confusing to program, put has better performance than the Loop and IC fixtures they offer now (At least when it comes to intensity); used it in both my Fluval Evos (5 and 13.1) and successfully kept all ranges of corals even down to 55% intensity (These reefs are only 12” tall so it works perfectly!!!). Truly hope they would make it again.

    On a reef tank, mostly lps, what is the recommended blue vs white lighting percentage? Currently, a 100% blue and 40% white looks nice but idk if it suffices for the polyps and rose anemone.

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would mostly depend on the depth of your tank. If this is a pretty shallow tank, or if the LPS are placed pretty high up, your current setup should be fine as it sounds like you are running at about 75% capacity on your light. If you do notice that your anemone moves to a different location it likely means that it was not getting enough light where it was and you may need to bump up the whites.
      One solution can be to add a second light to the tank if you haven't already. This would give a lot more flexibility in terms of not having one of the channels at full power and would also let you keep more picky corals like SPS.

      I have a 36x15x17 rectangular tank. The polyps seem to like the light and the anemone actually moved a few times now. A couple hobbyists told me bumping up my whites can result in hair algae....?
      I like the idea of putting another light....maybe a T5. What do you recommend?
      Thank you!

    is there a way to program how you want the lights during the day using the percentage of blue and white? if there is, i am not seeing how....it just asks for min intensity and max intensity. did i miss that part? i want my light to be set to 100% blue and 40% white at maximum intensity throughout the day and for moonlight i want it to dim down to the minimum intensity i choose. how can this be achieved?

  • @Ninja4200ful
    @Ninja4200ful 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm trying to programme mine so I can have it start with sunrise for 30 min then have a 2 at 40% blue and 20% white then go up to 70% blue 50% white for 6 hours then back down to the previous for 2 then sunset. Then into moonlight mode for 3-4 hours. Is this possible to programme???

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Ramp Timer will allow to adjust the ramp up/down time to a maximum of 30 minutes. You can also set the minimum and maximum percentage for each of the channels individually. The moonlight time can also be adjusted.

    If the power goes out do you lose the programming on the lights?

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The unit has a flash memory that will retain settings for quite some time in the event of power loss.

    I have the 48-60" pro. Can I run a second strip with one controller? Like with a splitter ?

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would need to purchase the Dual Orbit Marine kit that I linked below in order to operate two of the Orbit Pro fixtures from a single controller.

    Are these lights good enough for keeping a maxima clam in a 29 galon Biocube?

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Orbit Marine Pro model will provide sufficient light for a clam when placed appropriately in the aquarium.

    Do I need more than 1 bar for a 125g 6'long tank???

    • @BulkReefSupply
      @BulkReefSupply  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend two of them if you plan on keeping a full mixed reef tank; this will give you the best coverage over the entire tank.

    About the only neat thing the Current Orbit Marine lights is the ramp timer and some of the other little display functions. Other then that you can get higher wattage solutions with built in timers for the same money.
