The territorial laws were re-ratified when Arizona was made a state. As a result, abortion was illegal in Arizona until 1973 when Roe vs Wade was issued. From what I've read, while the law was on the books it wasn't aggressively pursued so it wasn't an issue at elections. It only became an issue after Roe vs Wade and the evangelicals adopted it (previously the anti-abortion movement was primarily a Catholic concern).
Overheard a man talking about having voted Republican his entire life: “If I vote for Donald Trump, I am voting for chaos and the destruction of my Party. This year I am voting Democrat up and down my ballot, because I want my Party back on the side of America. And if that takes four or eight more years to return our Republican sanity, so be it.
