@@Cp_k37 I am not worried at all. Given statistics, Trump is highly unlikely to win. Polls I don't trust, but 30% swing voters say they will vote againt him if he is convicted, 10% Republicans say the same, on top of that, Haleys voters will go for Biden. So, seems quite likely Biden will win.

The more I listen to these accounts of the American Bar system and the behaviour and actions of Bar members, the more I appreciate how superior is the English Bar system. We have a split profession with attorneys (solicitors) and barristers. The Bar (barristers) are all members of one of the four Inns of Court. We are held to incredibly high standards of conduct. Most importantly, within our area of expertise, we are duty bound to take any case on a ‘cab rank’ basis. In other words whoever gets into the back of the ‘cab’ we have to take the fare. We are also required to take cases for both sides, so a barrister specializing in criminal cases will both defend and prosecute. The system works extremely well, the extra layer between lay client and barrister allows for higher ethical conduct. I practiced for 32 years as a barrister in Manchester, UK. I’m satisfied America would greatly benefit from adopting the English system with a split profession.

In the Old Bailey judges used to have smelling salts to conceal the stench of the court! Perhaps that would work here.
Smelling salts are not used to mask odors; they are used to arouse someone who has lost (or is close to losing) consciousness (for example, smelling salts are used on boxers).
