I used to live in a house a mile away from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri but we were under the flight path of both the A10s and B2s. It was amazing. While playing Army Soldiers in the backyard, I would look up and see a B2 fly over me almost once a month.

It's much easier to train a pilot properly than it is to create and maintain the planes. When you have a small air force compared to the nation's population you'll of course be getting the most elite to become pilots.

It’s so interesting picking apart some of the details here. I worked b2’s for about a decade and you definitely don’t have a height limit of 5’8… I fit just fine and I’m 6’4.

I don’t think B-2’s are going to be the first wave. I’m sure stealth drones would take the majority of the first wave, then F22 for certain targets, then B2’s more multiple bombing target environments.
Flying in the actual sim was cool. Like another comment says being in the actual cockpit of one is cramped and a bed folds down over the door and u got a little toilet. I couldn't imagine being stuck in there for 24+ hours.

So human physiology was only sometimes a secondary to what I had to consider in aviation, but when they said "needs to be under 5'8" an alarm bell went off in my head. Being a manlet in great shape would be ideal in high G environments against lankier humans. You can flex and control so much more of your immediate circulatory system! While I'm sure it probably boils down more to simple cockpit over-engineering (We'd probably require midgets to pilot the F-35 if engineers had their way)
No amount of flexing will save you from pulling a high G manuever. Smaller framed individuals actually suffer fewer effects of high Gs, hence why 5'8" or shorter is important. Your circulatory system is supported by your flight suit in much the same way a diving suit helps with the pressure of deep water.

This has happened before over US soil. It had 2 bombs. They had 3 safety mechanisms. 2 of the 3 failed. Only the final safety kept it from detonating. They never found 1 of the bombs.

i dont think drones are able to drop bombs large enough to take out nukes, and are also not as stealthy as these bombers.

Nothing the bombs are design to be survivable in a crash and not go off. Nuke’s are not impact bombs.

It's impossible to understand how just a single one of them, without cost of maintenance, pilots, ordinance, costs a million dollars, times 2,000. Two thousand million, for one plane. Evidently Uncle Sam doesn't negotiate for us.
When they increase power to their thrusters, why don’t enemy radar detect the increased temperature or light in the sky? Is radar not that advanced to reach above a certain altitude?

The enemies would have detected the bomber once it opened the bomb bay. It is not stealth while it is open
Yeah even if it does go undetected Russia would probably still know that Us did it because Ukraine lacks that type of tek and there is only one nation that can pull that off without being detected which is the US and Russia knows that .
