    I used to live in a house a mile away from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri but we were under the flight path of both the A10s and B2s. It was amazing. While playing Army Soldiers in the backyard, I would look up and see a B2 fly over me almost once a month.

    My father was a KC-10 and KC-135 pilot in the 80s & early 90s; while he was not allowed to tell me if he ever refueled one of these, he had other stories (SR-71, etc). Despite my having first-hand access to someone with experience, these vids STILL intrigue me. That is a credit to you, folks. Good work.

    A key reason for this cost is the provision of air-conditioned hangars large enough for the bomber's 172 ft (52 m) wingspan, which are needed to maintain the aircraft's stealth properties, particularly its "low-observable" stealth skins. Maintenance costs are about $3.4 million a month for each aircraft.

      Man, I'd love to get the guys together to push the equipment out, put some turf down and play a full-fledged baseball game in the hangar while I wait for the thing to come back off its 16-hour sortie 🤣

    • @Chris-yi4pj

    • @crazestyle83
      @crazestyle83 ปีที่แล้ว

      And that's why they're producing the b-21 raider. Considering the b2 was made 25 years ago, no one is surprised. It's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardner in a war. It's the price of protecting allied global democracies, peace, and the freedom you enjoy to criticize the cost of said freedom.

    So human physiology was only sometimes a secondary to what I had to consider in aviation, but when they said "needs to be under 5'8" an alarm bell went off in my head. Being a manlet in great shape would be ideal in high G environments against lankier humans. You can flex and control so much more of your immediate circulatory system! While I'm sure it probably boils down more to simple cockpit over-engineering (We'd probably require midgets to pilot the F-35 if engineers had their way)

    • @jamesmerkel1932
      @jamesmerkel1932 ปีที่แล้ว

      No amount of flexing will save you from pulling a high G manuever. Smaller framed individuals actually suffer fewer effects of high Gs, hence why 5'8" or shorter is important. Your circulatory system is supported by your flight suit in much the same way a diving suit helps with the pressure of deep water.

    • @excel4600c

      Nothing the bombs are design to be survivable in a crash and not go off. Nuke’s are not impact bombs.

    • @CONSOLETRUTH2
      @CONSOLETRUTH2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably nothing unless the bomb was armed. Thing is it's only armed JUST before it is dropped so the chances of it being shot down at that moment are slim to none!

    • @luckyluciano1623
      @luckyluciano1623 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question, I'm only assuming here but I think the bombs have to be armed and a crash won't detonate them

      This has happened before over US soil. It had 2 bombs. They had 3 safety mechanisms. 2 of the 3 failed. Only the final safety kept it from detonating. They never found 1 of the bombs.

    I wonder how some police officers might react to an air force pilot making there way to base asap...
    PO: "Where are you going in such a rush?"
    AFP: "My base."
    PO: "Care to elaborate on why you need to get there so fast?"
    AFP: "That's "CLASSIFIED.""
    PO: "Well unclassify this, "YOU'RE UNDER ARREST!"
    Considerring the way many local law enforcement officers detest millitary personell even to the point of putting their nose where it doesn't belong and claim authority over the millitary that they don't actually have from time to time, I wouldn't put this scenario becoming reality past them... After all it's not like they haven't done something more outrageous like arrest a blind man for posession of a walking cane, claiming they mistook it for a "GUN..."
    Right???
    Oh...
    Wait...
    That already happened...

      Lol that's funny, but the pilots have to live on post for security reasons. That is one of the only military post in the country, were the janitors have a TS security clearance. Let's just say that B2's are not the only super high speed toys that operate out of there.

      @@executor31For the reccord I am not saying that all cops are bad but if you need to use a "SPECIAL CODE" that should but often times does "NOT" include invoking your right to remain silent, your right to speak to an attorny, your right to legal representation that are protected under the merandan act and your right to refuse to provide an incriminating testimony against yourself that is protected under the fifth amendment of the US constetution, to avoid being arrested and put on trial for various nonsense like being blind and posessing a walking cane or being on "YOUR OWN PROPERTY THAT YOU LEGALLY OWN" or simply "Going about your "Daily "LAW ABIDING" life wile minding your own "LAW ABIDING" buisness" and this is in accordance with the "WRITTEN LAW" as it is recognised by the "SUPREME COURT!"
      There are many examples of such cases on the youtube channels "Audit the Audit" and "Leitos Law".
      Then that is just "F%$KING SLAVERY!"
      Yes I said "SLAVERY!"
      And for the official "LEGAL" reccord for anyone who finds themselves in such a situation, I will remind you that slavery is a violation of written law as it is recognised by state court, fedral court, the court of appeals, the supreme court, the international court of criminal justice and any other court that I might have missed.
