  • The B-29 is designed to be one of the most deadly, untouchable bombers ever created. The B-29 can reach heights no other planes or air-fighters could reach, and the B-29's payload can deliver devastating fire power that can level an enemy base. Watch our new incredible military video as we break down what made the B-29 a WWII superfortress!

The industrial power of the US never cease to amaze me. WW1 the US feeds and supplies the biggest war in human history. WW2 the US does ths same while also handling a large portion of all global shipping, also researching a big portion of technological innovation, and also fighting on 3 continents and from the other side of the globe. Cold War the US rebuilds the western world and supplies/funds nations as diverse as South Korea, south Vietnam, western Europe, and various parties, freedom fighters/terrorists, and governments across the world effectively out spending the Soviet Union and PRC several times over. Even Today the States of New York, California, and Texas each individually have economies roughly the size of Russia.

2:05 B29s are pretty vulnerable to hostile fighters actually. The fact that late war US Air Force was able to provide air protection by launching P51 in Okinawa thus diminishing the casualties of the flight crew may have contributed to the misconception that is B29 crews can “can perfectly protect themselves” with the machine guns.

Funny enough though, that's probably why the B-29 wasn't approved for European use, because the B-17 was considered adequate, and the Germans actually had planes that could reach this plane reliably.

My grampy flew the B-29 “Pride of the Yankees” over Tokyo, 1 engine got hit very badly, the other had its propellor go wild and fly off, yet with only 2 engines left a zero attacked the bomber, lined up with the nose of the plane, ( he was a pilot ) and opened fire. A bullet hit his knee, then pulled back. Yet he still said with 2 engines out, he said “I’m taking this son of a b*tch all the way back!” And he did. He died in I think January 2014, I was 3 years old when he died. I miss him, but life is life, you can’t bring back dead people, even if they were a loved one. That is his story. Thanks for reading.

1.SOME B29 had 20mm in the rear but was removed later for only 12.7
    2. Zero had mostly wood as the reason USA RAN MOSTLY APIT ,
    3. There was a gunner in the rear of B29
    4. B29 Gun computer was one of the first PC IN AN AIRPLANE and took into account many factors including weather in solutions

Yes but something people don't realize and like most other poorly researched videos on the B29 that get things wrong is that while in combat the cabins weren't pressurized, standard procedure was for the crew to don their oxygen masks and for the flight engineer to depressurize the fuselage to eliminate the possibility of an explosive decompression during battle in the event they were hit.

Richard Myers said: Our exit from Iraq will lead to the emergence of an Islamic caliphate
French President Sarkozy said: There is no need to use the language of wood. There are Islamic extremists seeking this confrontation to establish an Islamic caliphate, and I do not underestimate the possibility of a confrontation between Muslims.
