Absolute dream car, I'd take this over any modern sports car.
Dunno... I was kinda disappointed with my 6.
Everyone told me they were bullet proof, but mine spent more time in the garage than on the road.

Yeah I mean, to me it's an absolute dream car, but a not incredibly well mantained 4G63 is quite a love/hate toxic relationship afaik.
I know it's not even close to be on the same level, but I've owned a 2g 97 eclipse with an NA 4G63 and well, it's been a blast the year and a half it worked fine, but now it's been almost two months from one mechanic to another and still no one knows whats wrong with it 🙃 (sometimes it starts and runs fine, sometimes it starts bad and shaking and dies a few seconds later)
So yeah, this kind of cars may not be the most reliable ones and will probably give owners some headaches, but man, for me you already succeeded at life if you owned an evo 6. If you still have it best of luck with it and enjoy the hell out of it for all of us who can't, and if you don't own it anymore, pretty sure you still had some good times with it.

Things have gone too fast in the automotive industry so that i feel like 500whp for a car is not that much, but this is more than 20yo, and it's still able to handle such power, that's more than enough to enjoy! And it's amazing.
Power to weight ratio bubba and it's not stock.
all wheel drive.. thats probably 15% drive train loss??..to the crank that engine is pushing a ton of HP..anything over 300hp in a small jdm car is terrifying unless your a seasoned driver. 500hp is a death trap for most idiots who have never experienced that much power to weight. Seen a few idiots wrap 500hp tunes around a tree 5 minutes after leaving the shop.
I wish the US got the earlier generation Lancer Evos. I personally like them better than the 8, 9, and 10.
To all the people who think 500 isn't crazy anymore and everything has to be 1000+, there's a difference between high power and usable power. I have a little over 500 in my q60 and thats damn fast. I could only imagine in a much lighter car like this. Nutty.
i mean gt3 cars have like 550hp... more than enough

@@angusadams1244 100% mate. 500whp is perfect for a street driven Evo on street tyres. Different story though if you're on a circuit with semi-slicks/slicks.

I has more into bikes until in 2001 i has a passenger in a lfh evo5 RS with something like 400hp, its my dream car, i experience some great machines like RS6, Porsche turbo s (of the same guy) and they didnt compare in terms of the RAW experience. Im not in touch with this friend since 2012 but it still got the Evo and meanwhile he sold the Porsche the RS6 and also a gtr, that should tell u something what this car is all about.
we're talking about 500+ hp on 1300kg transmission with zero controls... this must be understood by some people who are used to 500hp tomorrow from electronics on cars that weigh on average 1500kg... a completely different thing..

I am not a person who likes EVO cars, but it seems the further back in model versions of the car you go, the better and nicer they looked. The latest EVO X is hideous and reeks of teenagers and college kids, and always has four passengers who think they are cool. Evo 8 and below look good. The best ones are EVO 4, 5, and 6. And of course the Evo 3 from Jackie Chan's films I grew up with.
1000+hp's are great, but for 20+ years awd platforms, 500hp's are better... especially for rally.
