I just bought an Evo 6 GSR bone stock with 80k km in scotia white. I am so excited for it to arrive. As you said they are pricey (but well worth it) + the US import tax hasnt effected the Evo 6 as much as the 5 yet, but it will soon. In the mean time im soaking up all the reviews on the CP9A chassis Evo's. And your video is without a doubt one of the best! Thanks.
This video just gave me confidence. Evos are fetching a stark premium currently, and I found one clean for 14k US. But it had 203k km. This car being still healthy and beautiful at 240k that's the validation I needed I got a good car that'll bring smiles for years to come.
Great review, that is a very nice example of an EVO V! I like all the EVO variants even though I owned Subaru turbos! I must admit though, the ones that captured my imagination the most were the Evo V and the Evo V1 Tommy Makinen edition ones. I remember a certain NZ car mag had a black EVO V on its cover when it came out and I was mesmerised. They were not cheap back in 1998 or whatever the year was either. As I had bugger all money, that only added to the allure, they were unobtainable to me back then. Now I am in Australia, I can't recall even seeing one, so rare as hens teeth here. Keep up the great vids mate!
I got an evo iv it has 151000km and it is in the same condition absolutely beautiful car to drive and sound even better since putting the invidia exhaust on it
@@KiwiCarLife Oh god yes. Also I’m just wondering if you’d like to review my 2006 Touareg v6 tdi with air suspension? It’s all original and I’m the third private owner. It would be an honour for my car to feature on your channel :)
@@MrCrackedGuy Congrats. I hope you have a boat load of fun. Was it a UK spec one or was it imported? Does it have the fog light in the rear bumper or is one attached on top?
e5 hands down my favourite. Used to be 4 in the late 90s from Jap video games. Parents bought a CE 99 lancer new... and had a soft spot for the e5! Gotta love the factory temp gauges - something you appreciate more after your first track day
Evo always have the greatest look in evo 5-6 era. The visuals represent the performance we get. Without livery or modifications. Just from a slight glance we know how this car will run and it delivers exactly what we expect even more. Sad mitsubishi will never revive their performance lineup until theres a need for performance cars rising again like in 80-90s
Yep, Renault bought out nissan and mitsi and they promptly turned to shit, every model scrapped and replaced with absolute cvt piss poor junk. Toyota got lazy into reliable cars, and with everyone else gone and their massive usa market Subaru got fat and lazy. Insane American and European "emissions" regulations killed off all the development and forward momentum.
@@KiwiCarLife 'Definitely Much Faster' ??? Stock for stock they should be near equal in performance, STI probably seems faster due to the punchiness & sound.
This was always my Gran Turismo car, as I thought the evo 5 looked the best I know you could get more power out the skylines but I didn’t care 😂 Would love to have one now, although could be a don’t meet your childhood hero’s type thing…. But completely agree the prices are a little extreme, In the U.K. a decent one will do you 25k+ My Cayman R would get me about 35 And I couldn’t give that up for such little money saving !
I know what you mean about the interior. I stepped into my friend's 2017 Lancer and thought to myself, did Mitsubishi put together the interior from the Dollar Store? Getting back into my 08 CL9 seemed like I stepped 10 years into the future compared to that.
Yeah 50k is a bit steep although in that condition it's basically like a 2 year old car. Hard to find something that offers so much for that price, nothing in the last ten years comes close
I would disagree, there’s a lot of stuff you can get for similar money that’s a substantial upgrade. M3, RS4, newer Evos, STI’s, even an MPS6, newer fast euros. I mean each to their own but an evo 5 is pretty mediocre (in stock form) compared with modern cars
Totally incomparable. Euro r has a much more zingy engine which I like, but also costs less than half as much so... I'm happy with my Euro R but see why people love these too
@@KiwiCarLife But if he thinks its too much I am still interested because I think there is some validity to the point. I mean we are seeing all these heavy high horsepower cars. I´ve got amongst other cars a 40hp Renault Dauphine with a 4-speed manual and that is likely more fun to drive than many of the new cars :)
Perfect size car and perfect amount of power.
Yeessss
My favourite of the Evos. But dear goodness, this has got to be the cleanest I have ever seen. It's cleaner than the showroom floor.
Haha yeah mate a true privilege to film with
Now thats an appropriate wheel setup for an Evo!
Oh yeah!
The stance is off though, clearance in front is higher than back.
@@The_Noticer. like in all evos, V at least, that's what you get with a stock suspension
