Hi folks! This is our first deck tech. If you have suggestions for the format of these videos, please let us know. ALSO: I forgot to mention the cards in the core 80 that protect & recur our permanents! Here's the list with quick comments: Eerie Ultimatum - Big recursion, or an early ramp spell that'll recur your fetches. Emiel the Blessed - Protect an important creature from targeted removal by blinking it, or combo with Dockside Extortionist for infinite mana (as long as your opponents control 4+ Artifacts and Enchantments). Heroic Intervention - Solid protection. Lightning Greaves - Great for Jodah, great for dorks. Sylvan Safekeeper - If you're about to go all-in next turn, it doesn't hurt that bad to sacrifice a land to protect your most important Creature (usually Jodah in those early turns). Teferi's Protection - A format staple for a reason.
I just built an eldrazi jodah deck and was thinking any making it modular incase people hate the annihilator bit and found this video. This game me some great ideas! Thank you!
Global ruin 5 color ramp, and use jodahs ability for onesided sweeps, and black bringer for tutoring your hand every turn, a good global ruin can lock the board for everyone but you
This is really lovely! I've done modular with "let's switch out the infinite combos package for some chill value" for being able to play both casual and less casual tables with the "same", but never this kind of modular. Should print some cards and give it a whirl. On the deck itself, is your answer to combo decks just speed? There doesn't seem to be much stack interaction or any stax pieces to disrupt fast combo decks, is that a meta call more than anything else?
Not only is turns the most winning of the packages, it's also the most hated. If your opponents survive the reveal that they're playing against that package, suddenly the game is archenemy.
Discovered you recently and watch many of your videos, pretty good job! If you enjoy it, please keep it up, it's really enjoyable! I can't wait to make a krark deck, and I'm trying to come up with a modular deck too, for my favourite commander, Nov Mozart reborn :D I usually don't comment much, but I have some question! Is there any reason why you made the modular part 20 card only ? Is it for convenience, or is there something else ? Since I like playing niv with 50 2 colored card and 50 others, I was thinking of making some of the 2colored card modular, but don't really know how much ... I was thinking maybe 30 modular (3 per guilds/bicolor) ... Also if you have any advice, stuff to be carefull about and so on, feel free to share! Have a nice day!
Hi, Thomas! Thank you so much for the kind words. I chose 20 cards because I felt like the other 80 would guarantee that the deck has enough card draw, acceleration, interaction, and utility pieces to function consistently. I love the idea of a modular Niv Reborn deck. Maybe your distribution of 2-3 color cards (that Niv can put into your hand) could each have a different archetype-like aggro, spellslinger/control, etc. Regardless, whenever you have a list on Moxfield, please let me know; I'd love to take a look.
Love the idea behind the deck! Crazy but Jodah is my favorite deck I own and I built it as an ode to my favorite things to do and memories in magic! It has taken quite a few wins at CEDH and High Power tables despite not being typical. There's something to be said for being the Rogue at the table I suppose! Thanks again for sharing.

This is awesome. Well thought out, nicely explained. love the modular aspect of it the deck
Sweet! So glad you dig it.
This is one of the coolest deck lists I've ever seen! How did I not find this sooner!?
thank you so much!!! ❤️
What a phenomenal design! Thanks for sharing.
thank you!

excellent idea!
They did my boy dockside dirty! Any recommendations on a replacement?
Awesome deck tech. I've been wanting to build a modular deck myself! I'd definitely play Ruination in your meta. XD
"OUCH."
- the 5-color player
Super cool, thanks for sharing
so happy you like it!
Great vid! The only thing that bothers me is that now I want to build it 😫
If you wind up building it (proxies, anyone?), please let me know what you think!

Oh, this deck is just not suited to play fast combo decks. In my mind, fast combo = cEDH, and I've got a dedicated cEDH deck for that (Najeela Tempo).
And if you wind up building a modular deck that's Jodah-ish, please let me know! I'd love to see it.

Rightly so! If you see me trying to play even more Magic, kill me! - Ken
