I absolutely love this style of building and video. I’d be interested to see a modular build that aims to put the different decks into tiers of power level, rather than just changing theme. Similar to the precon upgrades, basically make a deck then build a package to powering up and powering down to fit what group you are playing with.
Not only is this a really awesome idea, but even if this is not done as a budget build, in a way it still is. You don't have to buy 4 copies of one staple. I'm gonna look into doing this with a deck of my own and not have to use 3 paths, 3 swords, 3 smothering tithes, etc.
I absolutely love these decks!! They combine two of my favorite things about magic: unique builds and budget decks!! I am 100% going to get them, and surprise my friends!
Love this concept. After I saw your kicker version I decided to make an equipment version of it, since I always switched around my equipments between decks. It turned out as a 10 in 1 with a colourless core with equipments and 5 mono coloured sections all using partners from commander legends. Thank you for this idea!
This is amazing, and might be my next deck(s)! And the great thing is that upgrading the manabase is an easy way to make all of these decks more consistent, and is still useful if you ever want to take this apart to build something else.
God this is so cool. I have never thought about buying a deck I saw online more than I am right now. These modular deck ideas that are simultaneously budget friendly are super sweet and would absolutely love to see more of them in the future.
This is the coolest idea! I did something similar when I had to green decks, but that was just because I was super new and didn't have many copies of the cards. This works out so much better, and no written out list needed to separate the decks from one another
I'd love to see this concept explored in more archetypes, even. A modular Aristocrats deck or modular Discard or something would be super sweet. These deck techs are just so affordable.
Really enjoy your modular concept, have been putting cards aside for the Hallar, Verizol concept for when I get a chance to build it. Will have to look at doing this with my Siona deck. I have been trying to combine a bunch of my decks into three Color,2 Color combinations so that I can keep combine ramp, mana and common cards together in same sleeve combinations, however it can get a bit confusing as I haven’t been diligent enough to print out lists and keep the cards in a box with dividers, have them in separate deck boxes. I have been keeping decks in same sleeves like that for my sultai, orzhov, rakdos, and Selesneya decks and that was working well for mana ramp and common cards like removal and protection.
Thank you for this great video! I have been tinkering with the idea of doing a modular deck with Killian and Wyleth (or Ardenn/Rograkh) as the commanders for a while now, modular decks that play differently are great fun! I have a modular-Lands project going as well with Radha and Borborygmos completed and Omnath in the works.
I did a far less ambitious version of this where my "oops all ultimatums" deck shares a land base and some ramp with my five color mutate. Mostly did this because I wanted to make both of the decks but only wanted to buy one copy of each of the fancy triome arts
I used to do similar stuff when I first got into EDH. Had 3 versions of King Kenny. Got the idea from transformational sideboarding. Problem was that the more i got into EDH and would play more than one game a night the tougher it was with it being my only deck. So i enjoy the innovation where it's color identity the helps you switch out quickly
I built your sram aura voltron and basically have this core already. Extremely hyped to get the rest and try these out. My commander playgroup is pretty casual and it's awesome to have a bunch of variety rather than extreme high power.
When i see a little bit deeper, i realise this also happened in Cedh, an overlapping card with different commander, yet similar key card, makes it a different experience yet a little less budget for a cedh deck. Back before covid hits i almost build all that cedh deck with 1 body and rolling all the other parts. It share the fetch, rainbow, shockland, and the artifact.
I did the Hallar/Verazol deck and while I haven't actually played the Verazol part yet but the Hallar deck has been lots of fun when I've played it. This looks really interesting, too.
This deck tech was timely. Thanks Tomer. I've been working on a modular aristocrats deck with Prossh, Shattergang Brothers, and possibly Chatterfang. The challenge is developing the core. 🔴🟢⚫
I've been considering doing something like this for Sea Monsters. I've already had a Simic deck for a long time but I really like what Black brings to the deck as well. Only issue would be that the decks might play too similarly.
An appreciation letter to Tomer and a plea to whomever programs cards for MTGO: Tomer is 100% right that the best thing about auras in Commander is that people consistently undervalue them. I love that you can do a serious, pricey version of Auras (complete with Serra's Sanctum and Replenish) or a budget, concentrated version of Auras (complete with Sanctum Weaver and Retether) and be viable in most commander pods. Totem Armor is criminally underrated in Commander. Bear Umbra is the people's Sword of Feast and Famine (even if it's itself kinda pricey). Aydangway (says Strong Bad), I get that WoTC is busy these days, but Mantle of the Ancients needs to make its way to MTGO as soon as humanly possible. So few Commander cards from the last few sets have made their way to MTGO and that is unfortunate.
I absolutely love this style of building and video.

Id love to see more of these modular decks! Thanks for the amazing videos Tomer!!

This is legitimately the coolest thing! As someone who loves brewing decks and is on a bit of a budget, this is a phenomenal idea!
Looks amazing Tomer! Could be a great commander clash with one person playing each part of the deck, if Tomer week becomes a thing.

Incredible video!!! Just amazing how versatile is this arquetype even in budget
This is insane. Love it. Thats the first decktech i see on youtube that i think to buy
Now this could be something to be spoken about for ages! I would love to see more episodes of this going forward
Love this unique twist on deckbuilding. Really well done. Also love the choice of commanders and basics.
Love it. Built modified versions of your kicker decks and love them. Might have to try this as well!
I'd love to see this concept explored in more archetypes, even. A modular Aristocrats deck or modular Discard or something would be super sweet. These deck techs are just so affordable.
Do this for lands matter? Gitrog / Tatyova / Gruul Omnath / Maja?
Recently I've stopped having to budget as much, but this video makes me want to just go brew modular decks, awesome work Tomer!
This is a sick… idk series? I love these! Great work Tomer!
Good stuff right here! Cool idea and nice execution!
Fantastic work as usual!!

Really like the modular idea! I'm still very tempted by Killin auras too , but modular gives so much opportunity for feeling freshness in games

This is a cool idea and a great video. Well done!
Recently did this with Wyll, Blade of Frontiers. Crazy dice builds go!
This is fantastic Tomer! I'm totally going to try something similar with lifegain, which is my favorite archetype.
I built your sram aura voltron and basically have this core already. Extremely hyped to get the rest and try these out. My commander playgroup is pretty casual and it's awesome to have a bunch of variety rather than extreme high power.

Great video as always Tomer
I did the Hallar/Verazol deck and while I haven't actually played the Verazol part yet but the Hallar deck has been lots of fun when I've played it. This looks really interesting, too.
I'm on the other side of the fence. Did Hallar Verazol, barely played Hallor and it is now a Full Verazol deck. I'm tempted in this modular one though
Not really my type of decks, but my sisters are getting interested in this sort of thing. Shared with them.
This was pretty sweet. I might try doing this in the future in general.
This is so genius, i love it!
I keep being unable to decide the colors of different archetypes. It's finicky, but I could see myself doing this to solve that problem
Tomer, so good! Great job buddy!
This is such a cool idea and great for players just starting out!
This deck tech was timely. Thanks Tomer.
I've been working on a modular aristocrats deck with Prossh, Shattergang Brothers, and possibly Chatterfang. The challenge is developing the core. 🔴🟢⚫
Love this and now want to own.
Love the idea of making modular decks now
Great idea. Currently trying to think of how to make an aristocrats modular deck(s)
I've been considering doing something like this for Sea Monsters. I've already had a Simic deck for a long time but I really like what Black brings to the deck as well. Only issue would be that the decks might play too similarly.
Great concept. Though I have to say, if you want to build a voltron commander for auras, Uril is the truth.
Excellent video
I'd love to see more decks with the modular them. Maybe gitrog and grolnock next????
Ok I thought 2 decks in 1 was cool. This is awesome

I got three of four right. It’s very cool.
I did this on a smaller scale with my token deck. It's base white but I have a black variant and a green one.
Hey tomer, please make more of this videos
I love this concept and I won't lie it makes me want to build a 5 color enchantress deck. 🤣😭
And we maybe create a section for build a Sram deck with this....amazing
This is basically what my friend does everytime he plays monoblack. Plays the same 40 or so card with 23 ish cards as flexslots ^^
This is really cool tomar
Have you ever tried to make a deck where the cmc of the entire deck adds up to 100?
could be neat
Tomer is underated.
Make this into an episode of commander clash?
We’ll done! And at 202 total cards you only have to buy half the sleeves, lol
