    If you have latency issues, make sure you using Positive Grid ASIO driver.

    • @TheToxicChili
      @TheToxicChili 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried that, but after installing, now I can't get the Bias 2 effects to work when using the headphone socket on the riff :-( I can now get it play out of my laptop speakers, but the latency is there and it seems to have issues deciding if it's a Riff or some Postive Grid USB device, which then doesn't have any output.

      @ScottMacLeodCompany ปีที่แล้ว

      The speakers or headphones need to be plugged into the RIFF. The ass driver needs to be reinstalled frequently.

    Does it need bias fx software or can be used with any app like THU or Amplitube?

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is a very good question! I haven't had a chance to test that, but I would assume it should work as a regular audio interface. I just wouldn't expect some of the control mapping features that seem to be exclusive to BIAS. If you have a chance to try it, please let me know!

    How does it do with clean bass? I've been having issues with my interface and bias fx distorting my bass even on clean.

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good question! This interface actually handles clean bass really well. It has good gain balancing features in the actual interface and has been my go to for recording parts pre-processing. Just make sure you get your pre-gain set at a good level without clipping and you're good to go!

    • @pb25193
      @pb25193 ปีที่แล้ว

      Put a gain plugin BEFORE your amp plugin and lower it until you get the tone you want. Input gain matters.

    Unfortunately only comes with A connector to the iPad that Apple stopped manufacturing in 2018. Very poor.

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh man. That really sucks! Thank you for the input on the Apple side. It's unfortunate that you probably have to hunt and buy a different cable instead of being able to use it out of the box.

  • @thejonathandoan

    I too have latency sadness. Though you can lower the buffer size in the Bias FX 2 app to reduce latency a bit, it's still there unless you use the headphone output directly from the Riff. Hopefully they'll update that with firmware. Also I would love to see the Bias FX 2 app available for Android for mobile use as well (my iPad is failing cuz it's outside the warranty, and I have an Android phone, so...)

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I totally would've loved to test the mobile version but I too am of the Android flavor of phone. I'm not too bothered by the latency issues since it records as promised direct, since I usually add things in pre-pro anyways, but for some it could be a total deal breaker! What instrument do you play and do you use Bias often?

    • @jaixaphoto
      @jaixaphoto 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For me that makes it a total waste of money. I spent money now and do not want to wait on a latency disaster to be solved in some undefined future

    Im looking for a portable interface to use with my new macbook. Do you know if the RIFF is limited to BIAS FX and other positive grid software or is it just a general audio interface?

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Peter! It is a general audio interface. While it's functionality is greatly increased with Bias, you can totally use it to just direct record your guitar and then add effects and post processing in the DAW of your choice. I hope this helps!

    • @PTR2K
      @PTR2K 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I purchased one and it is terrible in my opinion. The cord they sent that plugs into my phone is very short and glitches out so bad that it starts making shrill noises. I wish I had bought another processor to plug into because the quality is better.

    • @CoryPlaysBass
      @CoryPlaysBass  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is good to know. I'm wondering if it may be how phones process sound? (I'm not a big smartphone guy) I will definitely look into this more!

      @@CoryPlaysBass I don’t mean to bash or anything and it may work differently for others but I definitely can’t use it live because I can’t change effects on the fly so to speak. There may be other ways I’m not aware of. Also I’m finding it inconvenient to try to set it somewhere while I practice. I’ve used it with studio headphones and right through the amp. It hasn’t worked well either way. I normally practice through a boss me70. I’ll probably buy another one for live so I can keep one at home. I think it’s much better and easier to use. Hopefully this helps. Again I’m not trying to put anybodys product down, I’m just disappointed in it and have only used it 3 times before thinking I wasted about $150

    This piece of junk came faulty from arrival for me. It constantly goves feedback sounding like a robotic voice, and when its giving that kind of feedback , i have to place it on my skinto avoid standard feedback! Not sure whats up with that but i noticed that if i touched my phone or the riff itself that it would kill the light static feedback . So i have been recording in shorts with it on my leg😂. When the robotic feedback starts i have to stop recording and plug /unplug up to 20 times before it works as its supposed to. I am soley recording on my iphone and had no trouble with my $2 counterfeit irig device i bought of temu, i just wanted to improve the quality. Emailed positive grid twice and no response. I am guessing mine was a return, as i had no wrap on the screen with scratches present aswell. I will be taking back to where i bought , its just an hours drive away , but i am immediately put off from buying from this company due to being ignored
