    I am going to be getting a guitar and I’m wondering as someone new to this world if this is good for complete beginners? I think this is the most cost effective way to go for me instead of buying a physical amp. I need to be able to use headphones to play most of the time because my wife and I work opposite shifts, so that’s a plus!

    If that aircraft ran out of fuel there would definitely have been a mayday call to the tower. It's most likely that the pilots weren't paying attention to their speed and they stalled. That would also explain the quick crash and no mayday call. Just a guess obviously. There should be a publicly available govt crash report which will explain everything.

    Was den USB C Port angeht, also ich schätze mal der wird mindestens die Garantiezeit überleben und sollte er dann die Mücke machen, entweder einen neuen einlöten oder man treibt es auf die Spitze und schaut ob sich dort nicht vieleicht sogar ein USB B Port nachrüstet. Das Gehäuse an sich sollte ja groß genug sein und wenn es innen auch ausreichend Platz gibt, braucht man den Spaß dann im Grunde auch nur einmal machen. Das die von PG eine völlig veraltete Buchse nachträglich in eine Version 2 schnitzen denke ich ja eher weniger. Zumal ich als Kind der DDR eines in der BRD gelernt habe, Kapitalisten geht es nicht darum das Dinge ewig halten, sondern möglichst viel Geld aus meiner Tasche in ihre um zu leiten ;)

      Guten tag!
      The sound quality is very good through headphones but unfortunately the Riff doesn't contain a battery, it is powered by the PC or iPhone/iPad it is connected to. It won't generate output unless the BiasFX software is active as well so it really has no stand alone capability.

    • @marshallbreakstarr9722
      @marshallbreakstarr9722 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pawnshopguitarguy Thank you for the fast answer. That the headphone sound is decent sounds good. The fact that the Riff does not have its own battery is also a plus, so no battery can give up the ghost ;) So in order to be able to use the Riff, a tablet, iPhone or laptop would always be necessary. Ok, then I guess I can't avoid it, but it's good to know for planning my finances.

  • @jamesbonin1277
    @jamesbonin1277 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you’re plugging it directly into a computer then I don’t know why you wouldn’t use an audio interface. I just received mine because I’d like to plug it into my iPad. However, the geniuses, or bean counters, at Positive Grid, obviously got a great deal from their Chinese suppliers and are providing an iOS connection to iPad that Apple stopped using in October 2018. Usability guys and girls. You need to think about that.

    Hello, is it better to have a scarlet or this ? Im starting to buy the equipement to record. I dont understand everthing. When you have the riff do you need the bias software ? If i want to creat a song with drum is the riff enought with the free presonus software ? Thanks !

    • @pawnshopguitarguy
      @pawnshopguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually the Riff doesn't come with Presonus, I think they "copied and pasted" part of the Spark webpage and didn't catch the mistake. But technically Studio One 5 Prime is a free download, but it doesn't support VST plugins, which you will probably want. If you plan to record with a microphone as well as a guitar you should probably consider the Scarlett. There are several free DAW software programs available, Pro Tools First, Traktion Waveform Free, etc. but I would google whether or not they support VST plugins (Like Bias FX 2). Bias FX 2 would work with the Scarlett to give you all of the guitar tones the same as the Riff.

      @@pawnshopguitarguy Ok thanks very much ! I want more to record my guitare and add track like drum or keyboard, o maybe it's better to go with scarlett but i understand that riff can do that to ?

    • @pawnshopguitarguy
      @pawnshopguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anything with a 1/4 inch jack can be plugged into the Riff, the Scarlett also has an XLR for microphone inputs as well. Either would probably function well for you, with the Riff you get the Lite version of BIAS FX 2 so you get a few extra tones and pedals that you wouldn't with the Scarlett. Hope that helps!

  • @devomony
    @devomony 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Pawn Shop Guitar Guy, are you getting the Bias FX 2 tone back out through the Riff headphones, with no latency? All I'm getting from the headphone out are the default (and all very clean) preset tones, ie. not the tones as processed by Bias FX 2 Lite. If I switch Bias' audio settings to output to my pc speakers, I get the Bias processed sound, but the latency is awful. This is the result I'm getting with the audio settings set to windows audio (as you appear to in the video). I have had no luck with getting the ASIO driver installation to successfully complete (per the instruction and link on the official Positive Grid video).

    • @pawnshopguitarguy
      @pawnshopguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The headphone jack should be giving you the post effect tone, the pc tech in me says to try reinstalling the Bias FX 2 software and/or try it on another PC or ipad/iphone to see if the Riff itself is bad.

    • @TheToxicChili
      @TheToxicChili 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was getting the Tones back through the Riff headphone socket, but latency was pretty bad, I managed to install the ASIO drivers, but now I can't get the tones back through the Riff (just the presets), only from my windows speakers and latency is worse through those. I tried uninstalling it all, but it's leaving some settings somewhere on my machine, so when I reinstalled had the same issues.

    • @TheToxicChili
      @TheToxicChili 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So, after some playing around, if you go to the Audio settings, you will see Audio Buffer size, which will have a number of different samples for example 160 Samples (3.3ms). The lower the samples, the lower the latency, but also will work your PC/Processor harder. I found the drivers you can download from PGs website (with ASIO) just don't work for me, I'm using Windows 11, so maybe that's why.
      I can no longer get the BIAS processed sound through the RIFF headphone socket, no idea why, it was working, but ever since I installed the ASIO drivers, it stopped working and even after uninstalling and trying to remove the remaining stuff it leaves on you computer, it still doesn't work :-(

      @pawnshopguitarguy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheToxicChili I'm sorry to hear that, other than possibly editing your registry (not recommended for the layperson) my only other advice would be "resetting" the PC which is a pain to say the least.

    • @TheToxicChili

      That's a good question, I checked their website and couldn't find the link. I had already downloaded Studio one previously when I bought the Spark. I think they may have "copied and pasted" some of the information on the website from the Spark site and included that by accident... You can always use Davinci Resolve (what I use) or Reaper - they're free downloads, and the Bias FX 2 is a VST plugin inside of those.
