John was already the leader of the band at that point, something his older brother, being the founder of the band, didn't really appreciate!     I have played these CCR songs for literally almost 55 years probably have heard some of the 100s if not thousands of times and ya know what they still move me the same way they did the first time I heard-em. just so good.

    The part that is only music it's the spell. I'm not kidding.Is the magic of sound frequency and they also use a little bit of sound-trance, huuum huuuuum. Its all mastered woven together with the eco in his voice. It's not satanic. Just magical.

    I love love love this cover of what was originally a truly bizarre song. Jay Hawkins was very entertaining but, musically, this version is Fogarty at his best (and the band as well). Just wonderful! Would love to see you do “Long as I Can See the Light”! Great reaction 🌺✌️

    ack he's the founder of CCR, the lead guitarist and lead singer....this was live at Woodstock at about 1 AM, I was the 5th row back in the crowd and celebrating my 18th birthday. Drove all the way from Alaska to spend the glorious 3 days of my life... Love your reactions to all of CCR....songs...

    This is from their Woodstock Festival set, summer 1969. Fogerty said they came on after the Grateful Dead at like 2 AM.

    These guys were my favorite band growing up. CCR & Uriah Heep. I remember the day I bought "Some day never comes" on a 45. Love Pagan Baby & Ramble Tamble. They made my teen years special.

    Talking about Fogerty playing guitar, after he left CCR he recorded under the name Blue Ridge Rangers where he played all the instruments, a real one man band. Later he released his #1 album Centerfield, which he self produced for $35k, playing all the instruments too

    Very possibly the best cover of this song.... EVER ! Josh Stone is also Great and so Easy on the Eyes. Dis is Blues/Rock at its best

    The guitar transition takes it from a blues song to a blues rock song. For a pure blues version listen to Nina Simone’s version and Annie Lennox version. Both just fabulous!

    John Fogerty has an incredible and easily recognizable voice. I saw CCR on Aug 3, 1969. Also saw Fogerty a few years ago. He was part of a benefit for veterans.

    This song is not in standard 4/4 timing. It is in 6/8 timing causing the "odd" build up.

    Well now you've hit their two important covers. They do some others but none as memorable as the ones you've seen.The rest of their great songs are all originals
    One that I've never seen a reaction to that I really like is Up Around The Bend. It's part of what I refer to as their friendly collection...songs that just have an easy going feeling, inviting feel. Willie and the Poor Boys is another obvious one thst fits, as is Green River.

    You gotta do "Pagan Baby," or "Nighttime is the Right Time!" The guitar solos always melt my soul and John's voice is perfectly raw! Then there's "Born to Move" and the organ solo that will have you moving!

    Another masterful performance by this great, great band. If you want to check out some of their live clips, Van, then try some of their Woodstock performance. They tore it up.
    There's no real need to recommend any CCR stuff because you'll probably get there anyway, but what the hell!
    "Lodi", "Green River", "Run Through The Jungle", "Who'll Stop The Rain", "Feelin' Blue", "Ramble Tamble", "Up Around The Bend"...hey man they're all good!

    Glad you appreciate enjoy this great music. I knew the first time I heard Suzie Q in 68 they would be big. Big fan of theirs. This may be my favorite. Up Around the Bend & Traveling Band r very good also, plus more. John was doing a concert recently in FL, must of been great. Keep up the good work.

    Love the CCR. But when are we gonna get some allman brothers reactions? "Whipping post " is always a good place to start. But they've got tons of good music. Southern Rock, kind of like lynrd skynrd with a jam band/ hippie feel mixed with some blues (whipping post is heavy on the blues side)

    I Love CCR. Check out FORTUNANT SON, TRAVELING BAND, GREEN RIVER. I NEVER GOT TO SEE THEM LIVE BUT ABOUT 15 YRS AGO I SAW JOHN FOGARTY PERFORM WITH JOHN MELLANCAMP IN ATLANTA. WONDERFUL. GOOD REACTION.
