The therapist was projecting. He(the therapist) was the narcissist. Nothing he could say was wrong in his mind, and he had to inject himself into everything, be in the center stage with the joker, and even speak for the batman and the joker. Now imagine Joaquin Phoenix on Conan's late show promoting Joker. Fans of The Dark Knight Returns movie: hmmm this interview seems awfully fimilar as i recall it didn't end well.
For all the comparisons this scene gets to the climax of the _Joker_ movie, at least in that situation the Joker hadn't confessed to his crimes and wasn't a known criminal yet, so the host and the audience didn't have any reason to think that he was dangerous. But this Joker has been at this game for years and he's just spent the last decade in Arkham, so everyone knows exactly who he is. Who in their right mind would actually consider it a good idea to let this madman and his deluded therapist on a live talk show, and who'd be crazy enough to go watch it?

The animated ones are A TON cheaper to produce, they can afford to cater to only the hardcore audience, to go for higher ratings, etc. When you're spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a movie, you need a wider viewer base to get a return on your investment, thus lower ratings and more casual accessibility which means it has to be less violent.

Notice how Joker doesn't kill the doctor until after the guy starts badmouthing Batman. It goes along with the idea that Joker loves Batman in this, like he's an overly attached girlfriend who goes nuts if someone suggests her boyfriend isn't perfect.

For all the comparisons this scene gets to the climax of the _Joker_ movie, at least in that situation the Joker hadn't confessed to his crimes and wasn't a known criminal yet, so the host and the audience didn't have any reason to think that he was dangerous.
But this Joker has been at this game for years and he's just spent the last decade in Arkham, so everyone knows exactly who he is. Who in their right mind would actually consider it a good idea to let this madman and his deluded therapist on a live talk show, and who'd be crazy enough to go watch it?

AJcaraballo95 Pretty logical, actually. The animated ones are A TON cheaper to produce, they can afford to cater to only the hardcore audience, to go for higher ratings, etc. When you're spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a movie, you need a wider viewer base to get a return on your investment, thus lower ratings and more casual accessibility which means it has to be less violent.
Full violence is not always nice. You can make a good movie or animation without it.

In Joker it made more sense to me. Murray thought Fleck was just a weird 'Joker' from a comedy club. He invited Fleck because the video from Pogo's was well received and Murray wanted to milk it further. There was no perceived danger from Fleck.
