Hi Beth! I absolutely loved this video--especially the last half! I wish you woud do more videos on the many variations of styling basic pieces. It is so helpful. Thank you.
Clase & Estilo por siempre mi querida y admirada Beth . . un abrazo desde Guadalajara, México. . . CLASS & STYLE for ever mi dear and beautiful Beth . . .greetings from México !
Great video as always. I'd really love to see a video devoted to just accessories. I've been building my basic, capsules wardrobe, and now I want to put the icing on the cake. I adore scarves and want some updated ideas on how to tie them, wear them, etc. Also, I've never been one to wear belts and am interested in knowing what basic ones should be added to my wardrobe. And I always adore shoes and bags.
Hello, Wonderful video. I really need to invest in a nice blazer.😊 I love to wear clogs and loafers. I wear them both in the fall. I think they look cute with jeans.
I used to obsess about matching black and navy pieces. My solution is to mix textures. If bottom and top are the same textured fabric but the color is slightly off it can look like a mismatch. If the bottom is, for example, a smooth fabric and the top a textured sweater, or if the bottom is wool and the top silk in a slightly different shade it seems to work better.
Beth, I so appreciate your advice and sharing of how you dress to always look your best! We each have a unique personality that’s revealed by our style choices. I believe most of the classics look good on everyone. My favorite for fall are my blazers, sweaters and boots. Because I’m petite, I avoid oversized pieces for more tailored looks. But perhaps most importantly, keep it fun! Happy Fall everyone ❤
I love this video, it’s very positive and informative! I admire your style, it mirrors my own. One of the things I love about my gray hair is that it’s neutral, just about any color looks good with it. I was a natural red head and couldn’t say that before I went gray.
I am learning alot. My style is western chic. I collect and wear cowgirl boots. Adapting your ideas and tweeking to country style is how I roll. 🎉 I need more help with accessories and not being too matchy matchy. Thank you!
I love a scarf. It can make a t-shirt look like so much more and can add pattern to a pretty staple wardrobe. I have many, but I think the way they are worn can look dated. I would love to see a video on ways to wear a scarf this fall and winter.
🌹Your channel has been a go-to favorite for years, Beth. Always excited to see your latest! I believe I have seen every video you have made for 3 years. Loved when you modeled fashions "live" in the past, and did a "live" what you wore weekly. Your videos had so much sparkle and pizazz! Your present lecture format with mostly photographs of your styles, while always good, have not had the "wow" factor for me. Glad to see more "live" fashion in this video❤ Never have forgotten "The Wedding Guest" video. That is still jaw dropping!
Thanks so much for your input! But I do want to mention the channel isn't just about style. It's about healthy aging too. It's important to me to share all of the elements that involve aging with grace, strength, and beauty.
Beth thank you for this refresher for me. You give me hope on my style. I’ve learnt so much from you. We the viewers need you on here for us. You have so much knowledge. It’s given me confidence to try new things. I can’t thank you enough!❤❤❤
You inspired me to pair a dark teal long sleeve teal t-shirt with flared black leggings, black flat boots, a long black sleek quilted bomber type jacket and a dark camel and black leopard printed scarf. It looks so good! I'm ready for date night!
I love the polo-collar sweaters in cashmere, silk or cotton, or blends of these. They’re classic, but on-trend now, so I’ve been stocking up on the ones I love. I like them quite short, just covering the waistband, or at the hipbone at the longest. I always feel frumpy in cardigans, except for shorter ones, which I like wearing as tops, perhaps with a silk scarf. There are lots of great styles for us classic-style ladies right now. I think a traditional cardigan over a turtleneck is another frumpy look, comfy as it is.
I worked in a salon and we had a client that was in her early 80's. She was slender and had a cheek length gray bob haircut. She would wear a black turtleneck, black jeans, brown leather little jacket and brown boots and a black purse. She looked classy and fashionable!! I have a hard time getting the right sized scarves. Usually they are too small or too thin or too chunky!!
Thankyou Beth so inspiring and encouraging. I feel much more confident after listening to your videos and you always look so elegant and classy what a great role model for us all. From Down Under 😊
Thank you for doing the "work" to help me look stylish. Respectfully, I need more pics/voice overs and less lecture in front of the bookcase. For example, if a flowy maxi and belt is a winter fave, please show one. Yes, I'm just that needy, haha. Thank you
We try to keep the bRoll balanced with talking. There's a lot of work that goes into each video and we do our best to showcase what I'm talking about in front of the bookcase.
Love the classics!! Always have, but watching your channel always gives me some fresh new ideas!! Thanks Beth❤️Hope you enjoyed Carmel!! One of my fav places..”The Inn” at Spanish Bay is amazing!!
Sweater dresses are my cool-season go-tos, usually with boots and a blazer. The hardest part is finding ones without synthetic fibers, to which I’m allergic. Cashmere seems the best choice, but it can be too warm for autumn and spring. Also, they’re hard to find in the lighter colors I love.
Thanks, Beth, you are the only one to let me wear gold jewelry with grey hair ☺️. Except your hair looks a lot more sophisticated, like platinum 😊 . So fun to watch you enjoying style. Will try to follow your example.
Yes. Keep it fun. I enjoy going through my closet to try on different wardrobe combinations. I am ready to become a fashion artist, as you put it. You are quite an extraordinary woman, Beth. I particularly love how you styled the LBD in different ways. Thanks for giving me the idea of wearing a black turtleneck with black jeans and finishing it off with my camel blazer. What a classic look! Enjoy your week.
I bought a very expensive beige wool blazer in 1959 when I left school. It could be worn perfectly now. Perfectly made, though gold buttons. I bought a perfect beautiful black wool blazer from The Cupboard in New Zealand in 1985, would be perfect now. She does not indicate what she means by making things less stodgy, then shows Larry impossible to wear colours like bright pink, or black, these colours are impossibly ugly on me, as are white anything.
The big blazer isn’t timeless even though it’s all the rage right now. There are many high end designers showing fitted blazers. I will look back at a picture of me from the 90’s with the big blazer, and it doesn’t stand the test of time. I am very thin, and then and now I was and am drowning in them. I go back to fitted blazers from over ten years ago and they are still very relevant.
Why use an example of a sweater dress on a 20 something model? Seriously? I was looking for over 50 representation and images as the video title implies here.
There is plenty of over 50 style ideas represented throughout the video. Hopefully, you watched to the end. If not then you missed all of the outfits I shared.
I hope you NEVER leave TH-cam!
AGREE!!
Me, too, you, Beth, will always be “young enough” to make style videos for us❤
Aren't you sweet?! I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.
You're the best!
You are so kind!

Love how you handle negative comments!
What a lovely compliment. Thank you!
I think of Julie Christie in her black turtleneck in Dr. Zhivago. Now, there’s a classic beauty!
Agree 100%

At 18:38, in the photo on the right, I would love to know where to get the black & white animal print sweater or coat.
That's old from Banana Republic.
Thank you Beth! Rewatching now to make notes to take shopping with me. You’re the best!!

Newbie hear glad I found your channel ❤
Welcome!!
Great video! Love the turtlenecks and blazers. Keep putting such inspirational advice out.
Definitely correct it can look boring and dated a splash of colour now and again makes the difference

Beth, what about if I don't have a flat tummy?
I don't think that should stop you from putting together great outfits!
Like "work to weekend"

2:28 I kept trying to move away the "hair" out of my screen 😂
That's too funny! It's just part of the graphic.
I did that too, hahaha

Turtlenecks are awful. JMO
