As a resident of the coffee snob capital of the world, I have to say that the coffee McDonalds serves in Melbourne is the equal of many cafes. Not the best, but quite acceptable, unlike Starbucks which had such bad coffee that after a rapid rollout of hundreds of outlets in Australia, they closed almost all of them when they failed to attract customers, except for a few in tourist areas.
That's surprising. Starbucks and other coffee chains in the UK range from bad to mediocre. At least Mcdonald's aimed to compete with other cafes, but over here they have meh coffee too
@@onwardsandupwards547 It's not exactly surprising. McDonald's in Melbourne is staffed by the same people who would otherwise be making those above average coffees. Also, McDonald's in Melbourne HAS to complete with the local cafes if they want to see any coffee profits, whereas in America or the UK that competition simply isn't there.
Watching this channel feels so special to me. It's like a little hidden gem of youtube that's destined to really blow up one day and I'm here early hehe :) Keep up the good work dude!
I legit thought it was a 80k+ channel, the editing is so good, and the script is really well written, the videos are great!! This channel has so much potential
I've never liked coffee from big chains like this. I live in a slightly neglected country, so in general, this kind of coffee does not succeed here and is not popular. We drink regular, black coffee here, and somehow everything else seems very unnatural to me. I didn't know CosMc's existed.
It was announced while I was working on this video in early December, so it's very new. You're not missing much. UK chains are mediocre at best, while Starbucks coffee is awful.
It's kind of a mix between Starbucks and Dutch Bros. It has similar food options to Starbucks but focus more on cold coffee and beverages that appeal more to Gen Z like that of Dutch Bros. It's going to be really interesting to see where it goes from here.
I liked the brand at first, but looking at the likes of Dunkin and Burger King, it well a little flat. And yes the concept doesn't make sense but so far they are only planning 11 locations from what I've read
Cant see it catching on in europe tbh. The branding is too garish, and most people either buy coffee in 2 varieties, cheap machine made often self service varieties, or artisianal coffee snob variety. Cosmcs does neither, that look and branding is so in your face and childish the instagram posting mob wont wanna touch it and the older, more mature consumer would feel the same way...the only people who look like they might enjoy walking in there would be children...until they realise there are no happy meals...
Seems to me they got a generation of kids hooked with Happy Meals and then realised that marketing to those same people in adulthood was where the real money was going to be.

0:08 I wasn't even around for that era of McDonalds but maaan, I gotta say, I appreciate the goofy 80s design way more than this bland modern look

Supersize me is NOT a documentary, stop it.

Great analysis. Definitely earned a sub
At least the branding is interesting but the concept still feels a bit odd to me.
