All while stuffing his face and carrying on a conversation. Clinton would've approved of this message.
I remember how refreshing it was to hear him. People could ask him about the most random geographical event and he knew all about it and could explain his position on it. He was absolutely a huge policy wonk.
Yeah, and underlined the "easy lending" policy that led directly to the housing collapse of the 2000s.
This skit always made me really hungry for McDonald's
First Last I was thinking the same thing.
back when the fry grease had trans fat, mmmmmmm
Holy shit, I know right?!
Eating a trans fat loaded McRib from the drive thru in my Trans-am gave a transcendent feeling to my heart..or maybe it was a heart attack.
Me too
"There's going to be a whole lot of things we don't tell Mrs Clinton." SNL pretty much predicted his presidency.
His semen wasn't on board with it.
Hillary knew everything
This was the best Bill Clinton sketch ever!!!
RIP Phil Hartman
I thought SNL only attacked Republicans?
@ me too
No matter how small a part, Farley was a presence. And Hartman, oh man. Nailed the accent and the body language. No wonder they were so good together in the "Down By the River" skit.
This is both simply funny, and intelligently written. And of course, golden execution from the master himself. We miss ya, Phil.
"...I just want to thank you for stopping by. Again."
LOL
I did not. Have. Caloric. Relations. With that McDonald's.
No human does, because humans don't create fire in their bodies. If you don't understand, look up how calories are determined (hint - bomb calorimeter and fire). Humans use chemicals (stomach acid and enzymes) to break down food.
The calories were intercepted by warlords
😜
@@shuikintokirefrigrator436😂😂
Or under age girls
This sketch is still lol over three decades after it first aired. Phil Hartman was an EPIC Entertainer. Thanks for sharing.
If you weren't there in the 90s, it felt like Bill went jogging just to stop at McDs.
Christopher Diaz, PhD - I didn’t realize he had that habit even before taking office. No wonder he had to get a bypass.
Thanks for the context hahaha
@@MatthewChristianMurray The stress of being president probably had more to do with it than his McDs habit.
@@DowntownCanon BOth stress & eating habits (Clinton, like me, has battled weight all his life! Now, he's skinny and [mostly] vegan).
@aerodog2 can't you people just enjoy a sketch with out being radical terrorists about everything? I swear. Trump and Fox News sucks the fun out of everything. This is how the people of Iraq must have felt when their conservative party became radicalized.
“Fast food is the least of our worries” LOL this aged well
“Jim, let me tell you something. There’s going to be a whole bunch of things we don’t tell Mrs. Clinton. Fast food is the least of our worries. Ok buddy?” Prescient! 🤣
Yeah, we knew he was kind of a ladies man, but he was a smart guy and he was good at talking, and he was good at explaining complex issues in a way that most people understood. I miss having a smart president.
Paul Lawrence Kind of a ladies man? He was accused of rape in ‘99 by Juanita Broaddrick - the rape occurred in ‘78 then you had Flowers, Jones, Monica and those are just the ones who came forward!
SNL always needed a utility man like Dan Aykroyd . A guy they could plug into any sketch and he would pull it off without a hitch. Phil Hartman was that guy as well. And the best SNL ever had ! I was heart broken when I heard of his death. No one has ever been able to take his place. He was the most professional journeyman character actor television has ever seen ! He will never be replaced.
Same could be said about Farley. Both men were irreplaceable.
Seeing those old McDonald's fry boxes brought back some memories
I haven't been to McDonald's in decades. What do they serve them in now?
@@pinguinobc same fry boxes.
@@AdmiralBison Yes, I am pretty darn sure they are still red. Mickey D uses more green instead of red as a corporate color, at least in Europe (because they want us to think they care about the environment, see?) but I think the fry boxes are still red. One thing I remember is that at one time, pre-90s, I think, they put the sandwiches into styrofoam boxes. This would cause an outrage today, for sure. One thing I wish they'd bring back is the McRib -- mentioned in the skit, it was only available for a few years. The veggie burger they had around the 2000 mark wasn't bad, either. It had peas and pieces of carrots in it and it had crispy crumbles outside. Now all meat-free alternatives are those that seep artificial blood. They don't taste that bad, either, but I liked the old ones better.
One of the best skits they’ve ever done.
This was 29 years ago . Wow , how I miss those old , almost innocent times .
Phil Hartman, you are missed. RIP Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz.
Rip Chris Farley and Phil Hartman
He did the best Clinton in my opinion. His other skits as Bill were spot on
E. Brown you are so right phil hartman Bill Clinton was the best.
He did do a good Clinton, but he didn't eat enough fast food to be believable enough.
What about Micheal Mckean and Darryl Hammon take on President Bill?
I agree his was best. I also thought Will Sasso's Bill Clinto on Mad TV was really funny!
20 years ago today we lost this funny brilliant man. RIP
RIP Bill Clinton.
The bitch you married was crazy, mean, and untalented, and unfortunately, it made the whole world suffer.
@@publius9350 shut up moron. He was talking about Hartman's wife. Shut the fuck up idiot. She is more successful than u dumbass. First lady, Secretary of State, Senator. Eat shit dummy.
If President Trump is impeached, tried, convicted, & removed from office, we will have witnessed a modern day coup de etat.
@@bernieudo4399 hahahahahahahaha you're really funny man
@@bernieudo4399 true.
Phil Hartman is a legend! One of the all-time greats on SNL!
To this day my friends and I when we are eating, we'll grab some of the other person's food and say, "warlords."
This is how I teach my daughter about taxes.
“Do you mind if I wash this down?”😂😂😂
This bit was about 3 times funnier than I was expecting it to be.
Good writing
" One of Hartman's more famous sketches as Clinton saw the president visit a McDonald's restaurant and explain his policies by eating other customers' food. The writers told him that he was not eating enough during rehearsals for the sketch - by the end of the live performance, Hartman had eaten so much he could barely speak."
Of course, he never paid for shit there.
iheartjimothy I never knew this! No wonder why it was so genuine and funny! Hartman was so funny on SNL, Newsradio, PeeWee’s Playhouse and his movies. I still can’t believe his wife relapsed on drugs and killed him. He was truly one of a kind.
Well, when you're chewing on something (hamburger, Furburger, Weiner) you can't think straight.
"I'm gonna wake up every morning, thinking about you...... oops forgot one😂"
I have a feeling that one was improvised. I couldn't stop laughing at that part.
Phil Hartman's Reagan and Clinton. My God was he good.
And Trump as well.
"There's gonna be a whole bunch of things we don't tell Mrs. Clinton." might be the funniest line in SNL history.
The rare time SNL predicted something instead of The Simpsons.
When we laughed at every politician and still got along.
@Ty Vsd1337 you mean Trump who cried like a bitch every time SNL makes fun of him... don't believe me... ask Alec Baldwin
@Ty Vsd1337 lmao Trump literally whines about every joke about him. Didn’t he literally sue Bill Maher 😂
@Ty Vsd1337 Really?
No we didn't
@@BradyKaynee who mentioned Trump? Seek help for your obsession
"Race ya to the Pizza Hut!" Great campaign slogan. 🤣
Do you know how hard it must've been for Phil Hartman to act whilst eating like that, man was a Legend.
One of the greatest SNL skits of ALL TIME!! So classic and so well written and acted. RIP Phil Hartman 😢😢🩵
“...you gonna finish those 🍟?”
No, you want some?
Him putting them back in the box killed me 😂
@@richardbowler405 ..that what he ask Monica!!!!

Thanks for coming in - again.
Hartman's Clinton was great. He didn't sound exactly like him but he had the attitude down.
When SNL was still amazing. Love SNL during the 90's.
Lasna34 better than now much better
Lasna34 clearly you aren’t old enough to remember the Clinton Presidency or Phil Hartman.
Going from Junior High to High School watching all these was my favorite reason to stay up Saturday nights, miss those days
Phil set the bar pretty high. Its hard to equal his talent.
People said that back then.
0:03 is that Chris Rock?
Yes definitely. Chris Rock was on SNL for a while, but he exploded outside of it
@@DeepBloodedisn’t that how he got famous or am I way off about Chris Rock???
So young.
I miss 90's fashion. It's so casual, yet flashy.
sgtpepper0spray Care to tell me when we can have topless music award presenters?
I've never seen the term hideous phrased so well.
@Bio Kimistry are they wearing acid washed jeans that go over their entire waist and jackets that are 5 different colors?
The 90s will be the first decade to be brought back in the Retro Decade Revival Project.
Amazing to see that any SNL skit with Hartman in it, simply makes it better. What a treat to watch a pro at work. RIP Phil.
"Jim, let me tell you something: there are going to be a whole bunch of things we don't tell Mrs. Clinton." lol Prophetic.
Yup.
One of the best lines of any SNL political skit, right up there with "I can see Russia from my house!" (Palin) "I can't believe I'm losing to this guy!" (Dukakis) "I was told there would be no math." (Ford) "Strategery" (Bush) and many more.
Not really prophetic, just seeing the pattern. Slick Willy already had quite the rep from being governor of Arkansas.
09rja Not prophetic. His campaign that year was already plagued by accusations. He had been a slime for years before this
Darrell Hammond’s version of Clinton is probably more well known, but I always thought Phil Hartman did it best
I saw this one when it aired live and it's still my absolute favorite SNL skit.
