After finally acquiring Activision, 2024 should be a bumper year for Xbox. But the year got off to a weak start and only seemed to get worse.
You would think after acquiring so many lucrative IPs and studios, the Xbox series of consoles would sell themselves with so many decent games. But there are very few system sellers on the consoles, that are available on PC anyway. And Game Pass lets you play so many games without even having to buy them.
The year ended with awful console sales, plenty of layoffs several studio closures, and Xbox throwing in the towel on the console race.
