    You’re so right about Danny needing another season to show her decent into madness. I wanted the same thing because this insanity was brought on too soon. For her to want to burn innocent women and children was way too fast. We needed another season to see her conquest and then defeat.

    • @jimmygreer2140
      @jimmygreer2140 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Brought on too soon? What show have you been watching? The clues were there from episode one. She's always been mad. Sure, she comes from a place of good & wanting to change the world for the better. But she has always acted out of vengeance and not justice.
      Sure, Viserys was a POS that beat & abused her. Even threatened her & her unborn child. But last I checked, abuse & threats are NOT crimes that warrant capital punishment.
      Sure, the masters were POS that would kill their slaves when they felt like it. But rounding up 163 masters at random, without a trial, is THAT just & fair? She was even gonna execute that Son of the Harpy until Ser Barristan told her that the stories of her father were true. Hell, for all we know it could've been possible that the Harpy mast was that dude's brother or neighbor. Granted, hiding in the wall was a bad look. But that's what a trial is for.
      I mean, how would you feel if cops barged into your home & found a murder weapon that one of your friend's had hidden in your home? Wouldn't you want a trial to prove your innocence with an airtight alibi, credit card receipts proving you were out of town the weekend of said murder? Wouldn't you think it a bit mad if they just executed you on the spot?
      Sure, Randyll Tarley was a POS bigot who hated foreigners of all types. Does that mean he deserves death? And what about Dickon? As far as we know Dickon was as good & pure of heart as Sam. So would YOU execute Sam because he refused to acknowledge her as queen? I bet you wouldn't.
      And my final point to this....when is madness slow & methodical? No, it's almost ALWAYS sudden. One day it seems they are coping just fine and the next they turn into a monster. What does every neighbor of someone who murders their family or commits a mass shooting say about them? "Seemed like a regular guy and I couldn't imagine them doing such a thing".

      @@jimmygreer2140 This just isn't true. Dany's decent into madness is just horrible writing. She hasn't been mad before this. She didn't kill Viserys, Drogo did and for good reason. Viserys abused the shit out of her, beating her and now threatening to cut out her unborn child. The slave Masters are slave masters, G.R.R Martin himself said slavery can only end in Blood and Fire. What was she supposed to do, ask them kindly to stop? No. Randyll and Dickon practically signed themselves up to be killed, this is a conquest. Saying Daenerys is mad for killing them is unfair, Aegon the Conqueror did the same thing yet he isn't called mad or crazy ? Jon Snow execueted a child, how is that fair? Yes the child helped in his killing but he's still a child, easily manipulated. Is Jon Snow mad or crazy for that ? No. Dany's ending is just horrible, sexist writing. Having the powerful woman character put done like a rabid dog by the just male character.

      @@jimmygreer2140 Yeah, I was thinking she was messed up since she watched her brother get melted gold poured on his head. Anyway, it's always been about her and her legacy and her ego. Basically, if she were a man, nobody would have batted an eyelash.

    I mean, she could have just flown in while she had three dragons, taken the crown without burning the city, and brought all of (previously) Cersei's armies back to fight in the North.

    there was so much info from the books that was never used. we couldve easily gone to season 15 with this show. but the producers wanted to do star wars so wanted to finish this off with no regard for the actual story or the fans watching it. and we ended up with shortened shitty versions of season 7 and 8

  • @darth856
    @darth856 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Yeah, season 7 and 8 did Tyrion dirty. He was supposed to be smart. I don't mind Daenerys' downfall, because I think it has been hinted at in the past; the only problem there was the execution of that plotline, which felt rushed. Why they limited themselves to only 6 episodes this season I'll never know.

    • @ianvera4299
      @ianvera4299 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dirty? Tyrion is human, he is not supposed to be smart all the times and he is allowed to misjudge. We saw Tyrion do many stupid mistakes in the earlier seasons, like openly slapping Joffrey. Dany's downfall didnt seem rushed to me, her first instinct is too burn cities to the ground and everyone who held her back are gone by the end. They did 6 episodes to consolidate the budget.

  • @NinnieP
    @NinnieP ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I agree with wanting just a few more episodes with Mad Danerys. Let’s be clear though, Dany wanted to burn shit to the ground from day one. If you go back and watch the series, violence was always her instinct with enemies and most conflict. BUT she always had an ally at her side swaying her to a less aggressive approach. Once everyone supporting her was gone, she was alone to bend to the madness. What we as the audience deserved was two or three more episodes to come to grips with a beloved character’s turn to madness.

    "but still keeping in mind dany helped fight the night king when she didn't have to and lost a dragon helping jon"
    she did lose a dragon helping jon, but she did in fact have to help against the night king. this was a threat that would have destroyed the entire world, and dany and her dragons were important to making sure they got defeated. it really wasn't an option to help. jon knew that. he knew they needed dany and her dragons or all was surely lost, and not just for the north, but all of humanity.

      No it wouldn't have, the dead can't cross water and Dany could have just gone back to Essos with her armies and her dragons and leave Westeros behind, without Viserion the night king had no power. Sansa rejecting daenerys is stupid they all owe their lives to her.

    Honestly her going mad so fast was so valid to me. The way she lost a dragon to the white walkers then had to fight her baby on the battlefield. She then loses Jorah, she finds out about John, and lastly missandei was like her bffl and gets murked by ol girl. Then she’s also dealing with the fact that John went and told Sansa and Sansa told Tyrion. She don’t trust nobody but grey worm at this point and he just as pissed as she is. Cercei plays a lot of mind games and I think she knew that this was going to send Daenerys over the edge.

    Thank you for this re-watch! I appreciate having this over not getting to see your scene-by-scene insight at all. 😉 I also understand Danny’s actions. Maybe it was just rushed for most viewers but the writers did try to hint at her slowly falling to the dark side. I think after she said “let it be fear”, it’s like you said. She didn’t want the alternative, losing more people, her dragon etc. So it turned into an US or THEM situation. And she chose her people.

    My view is for sure that Dany had one and only goal ever- and that is a very big downfall. She expected to be seen as a savior like in Essos, but instead got no trust or love, and went into a world that was a lot more manipulative and complicated than she ever thought. Can you imagine only having ONE thing in life that you’re working towards, then it being a disappointment…. That alone is kind of intense.
    If she didn’t help with the NK they all would be dead. Jon really United Westeros against one enemy- ngl he deserves to be King.
    I am totally fine with the insane storyline- just wish we got mooooreeee.

    • @LordofFullmetal

    I kinda feel like Dany stripped Tyrion of his super-power. Made him stop drinking. Cause when he was playing the Game of Thrones as well as he was...he was drinking a lot. And when he was trying to tame the "wild beast" of Meeren he was also drinking a lot. I dunno, maybe Tyrion had lost his appetite for the game when he had to kill Shae but he hadn't realized it yet.
    But whatever the reason, he was always 1 step behind when he should've been able to see the step. Like why would Cersei give a damn about Casterly Rock? Obviously she'd go after Highgarden to take out one of Dany's allies AND steal their wealth for the war to come. Obviously Euron would be waiting near Dragonstone because that's where Dany would go to prepare for the assault on King's Landing.
