35k miles in 14 months? Holy smokes. How does this guy find time to work? God damn. He must live on that thing. I was tallying up the price of the bike and everything in my head until he said that part. No matter what that bike costs, it's cheaper than a house, and it doesn't sound like he needs one. He is definitely about that life. Great video as always.
Ridden not hidden, sooo many H-D's sitting in sheds never getting wet, polished every day. Get out and ride! Watching all the rides on the general areas you have to put up with that city traffic; glad I live out in the country and can hit the Hills so quickly. Nice RG, pretty cool bike.
100% agree. It’s a shame when people have a bike and ride it a few hundred or a few thousand miles a year. Stack some miles and make it worth while. I put on 10k miles a year minimum. I put 27,000 miles on my FZ1 in 6 months.
Nice bike, really cool seeing a young guy pile the on miles on a bagger. I wish I had done it at his age I was well into the late 40’s before I started taking long trips. Just did 6250 miles in September at 62.
Only if I could, but American bikes can't be registered in my country Serbia (Europe), different standards, much stricter in Europe. I tried to import a Yamaha Rider but had to cancel the order because of the difference in standards.
A true biker there at such a young age and has learned a valuable lesson, always take rain gear. The sad part taking a trip like he did, although very impressive, is riding mostly Interstate due to time & money constraint but not many of us are in a position to do such an adventure to take more time to ride the scenic routes. I have learned over time is to plan them out to ride those 2 lanes. It's much more enjoyable and rewarding even if you have to fly in and rent a motorcycle. *** Ear plugs help with fatigue on those long rides.
Just gotta say, I think it’s so cool to see many younger guys rockin Harleys. I’ve noticed around where I live, a good number of young guys will be on a Harley versus a sportbike. Sure tons of young guys do go for the sportbike or naked but I guess I just always presumed Harleys were only ridden by older gentlemen, just an old stereotype maybe? Or maybe there is a new resurgence and interest these days? Pretty cool!
I bought a custom FXDWG made for European market (American bikes can't be registered in Serbia, different standards) and customized it with parts I had available here. Made bagger out of it. Looks great but not even close to this beauty. This bike is simply awesome. If lokal Harley dealership had one like this, it would be mine for sure. Wouldn't even ask the price. Keep getting back to this video, again and again.
Bought my first bike July 6th 2020, fast forward to July 12th 2021 bought my road king. Cholo style, loved it. Fast forward to January 29th 2022 I bought my first brand new bike. 2022 road glide special in gunship grey and it’s awesome. I love the road glide. Snowing currently so not much riding but I can’t wait for April to come.
From one Eric to another, BEAUTIFUL bike brother. I don't know if it's the way Matt does the videos or what, but the bikes on this channel always sound way, way better. The additions and modifications you've done to it were perfect. Thanks for showing us. peace. Eric from Kissimmee Florida.
Thanks for sharing this video. What an amazing young man! I've been riding for almost 50 years (damn it I'm old) and when he gets to my age he'll be able to share a lifetime of riding with his friends and loved ones because it's something he's passionate about. I love traveling by motorcycle too and this kid gets it!!! I have a car, but my primary mode of transportation is my bikes. I totally get why he sold his car. Stay safe! Ride Free! I can't wait to hear what you're up to in 10 years.
What a great and inspirational video. Matt is lucky to have someone like this working for him!!!! I have a 2022 Fat Boy and I am looking at the Road Glide as a second bike. This video helps in the decision process.
I swear. Y’all are one of the best dealerships in the country. You guys, moonshine and house of Harley are probably the top 3 in the country. Maybe not on paper (but probably there too) but for us. For the people not the factory. I’m about it. Thank you. I want to see the dealership customer relation change. I want the “steelership” days to die and go away. But unfortunately the factory and moco policies don’t help that change. But we will always try. You guys are dope. Stay rad 🤙🏻 I wish I was valued as much as an employee at the dealerships I worked at. But those owners and GMs just had no interest in this side of the game. And it’s sad.
Great Vid! Just bought the exact same bike last week....upgrade from my Dyna FXDLS to the RG....very much looking forward to the start of the season here in Amsterdam NL. ride safe and ENJOY!! :)
I ride Street Bob fxbb now , heavily costumized and absolutely love it and the only bike that could replace it is this exact the same Road Glide , t-bars , gold 2-1 with ohlins front and back , in black , one of the best out there 🤙🏻
What an amazing story. Makes me just want to pull the trigger on buying my bike. Never rode before but I want that exact bike for those exact reasons. Pick up and explore.
So sick! I worked hard for 2 years straight to be able to save up 20k for my Indian Chieftain Dark Horse! Absolutely love it! Many people are always so surprised because im 22 :) glad to see another younger guy on a big bike.
Having had both SG then RG I think I prefer the SG, better wind protection in my opinion as well. May try a performance bagger build on a RG just don’t really care for the shark nose much.
I did a similar trip a few years ago but started in Florida rode to California then north through Oregon Washington Idaho Montana ECT: hit Sturgis up for a couple days than made my way back to Florida. I was also gone 27 days and right at 9,000 miles! It was a trip of a lifetime! Not sure I'll ever have that kind of time off again?
I went from a sportster to a 16 StreetBob now I’m on a 17 road glide and I fucking love it! Same process of slowly wanting to get farther and farther out
Cool video. Go your own way. I'm sort of a much older version of you in regards the lack of friends and family that are into Harleys. You are luckier in that you work at a dealership and thus at least have substantial mentors and coworkers to assist in your journey. I'm as at lost at home as you were on the road. I find help and fellowship in my travels and rides
Nice looking bike. For me personally I like the updated suspension, but not a fan of the reservoirs mounted where they are. I would prefer they were mounted where they weren't seen. May not even be a possibility.
Not sure if you’ve done a video on this but I want a road glide for a performance bagger build I want to do a 131 S&S motor so is it pointless to buy the road glide special since I’m doing the motor swap? The blacked out look does matter to me a lot so I’ve been aiming to get the special but everyone I talk to says to get the standard and just change out the chrome to save money
Is the air intake you added the same ventilator that comes with the bike? Did you just change it for the looks? I like the looks of it as well but thought it was the same that came on the 114 so opted to save myself the $300 just to change the trim badge
Great video buddy! Made me want to go out and ride. Perfect bar/riser height it looks like. How tall are you if you don’t mind? I’m looking for exact setup
@Matt Laidlaw I got a question for you. Can i get a quick shifter for my 2021 Softail Standard? If i can get a clutch less up and down shift it would be great for me because my left hand are not so good (strong) after i damage my nerves and joins little. I live in Thailand so it would be nice if you can recommend a place where i can order it from. Keep up the good work :)
I hate IL Nov12 and snow is coming Bout to hit the road for a few before the snow. I won’t ride in snow but cold.. who cares But I’d love to live in Cali so I could ride every damn day in nice weather
hey Matt you should start posting vids on Rumble too. I'm trying to get off of TH-cam for good but I love your channel. Wouldnt cost you anything and you could get twice the views. Should think about it.
I’ve ridden tons of bigger Harley’s and just didn’t like them. I am a person who loves to feel the wind and hear every noise my bike makes not hear loud music.
35k miles in 14 months!?!? How are you not deaf? Can someone explain what happens to the ears after those miles on a bike. Especially with that loud ass Simpson helmet. I have a shoei and it's quiet as a mouse compared to the bandit

I ride my road glide everyday year round. Never sits in a garage .
@@per4mexbagger541 the only way I'd be able to ride year-round on my bike is if I put chains and a plow on it LOL
@@per4mexbagger541 That's great Jose, would love to do the same. Safe riding mate
I average no less than 4,060 miles a month on my 2019 RGU.

Age as they say, is just a number, hope you enjoy many, many more miles 👍🏻
Im almost 65 and want one bad
You might want to give him a look at sales. He is doing an excellent job of selling this bike.
Absolutely!
If he's a service writer he may be selling upgrades etc.
@@bradboustead1682 I've bought more than one upgrade through a tech's recommendation.

This is our new era of Harley riders. Hell yeah man.
That bike has a mean sound. Love the raw look of those pipes.

One of the nicest Road Glides I've seen. Love the look of the Ohlins on the back, and the bars look like about the perfect height.

Right on man! Eric is a great guy and he's the real deal.

Matt, First class act by showing this video. Eric really gets you pumped up on traveling.
Thanks for watching
Unique Roadie 👍🏾
Nice bike. Would love to know how that pipe found it’s way into California, lol.
His numerous trips to Arizona. . . .
Service writer, kid looks real young. Nice bike and great video Matt.
Awesome build. I'd recommend cutting of the mullet (tri-bar) I did it to mine and it looks way cleaner. The fender matches the standard bags now. 🤙
That is badass sir!!!!! Definitely not a 4 year old bike with 2000 miles on it for sale soon haha!!!!

Great Job Eric... 👍 👌
GREAT story ! luv the pipes .... they sound so good ! I agree that long distance solo riding is the ultimate experience. THANKS FOR SHARING !
Beautiful bike. I just installed the same Kraus kit, except I put Fly Moto bars, which put me at 12.5". Maiden voyage is today. Ride safe

Yer boy stacking up some miles!! Impressive.
Got me looking at a Krause setup for my RG. Good stuff
The world is literally this young man’s shell 🌎 💯
Great looking bike! I like the shorty bags and pipe, you can see the back tire. Great video and congrats on being about it!

Good job Eric Great Looking Bike and i love going to Seattle area from L.A. its great going up the Coast.

Damn, Bro. I want to do NYC/Ground Zero on a bike. On the bucket list.
Awesome, from NJ doing the same thing in reverse
Awesome story beautiful bike!!!
Awesome video by a awesome young man.
27 days of riding, I’m so envious.
Great message buddy
I’ve just gotten my 2021 FLHT Electra Glide Standard my first Harley only has 700 miles I feel like I should ride more great motivation video!

That looks great! What are the front signals that are like running lights? Look great and safe
Nice set up! HPI doesn’t sell to California; how’d you get the pipes? Thanks

I wanna do the same man ride across the Canadá and US. Did you done it alone?
Is the air intake you added the same ventilator that comes with the bike? Did you just change it for the looks? I like the looks of it as well but thought it was the same that came on the 114 so opted to save myself the $300 just to change the trim badge

Shit. Ca to NY & back. Dream trip.
The exhaust pipe looks great!!! Did it affect the HD warranty
Tuners are what potentially void power train warranty
43k miles is 69,000km. That’s crazy. I thought I my 20,000km in 1 year was a lot. This guy must live on his motorcycle.
How tall is eric?
Looks like a good fit on that bike

Hey Matt, does Eric’s RG have Ohlins suspension in the front as well or just rear and stock front?
Can you run those remote reservoirs with a tour pack?
How much does it cost for about the whole T bar setup? From kraus
Nice bike, get than man a new seat while doing all those miles!
Cool
Hats off man
40,000* in a year hell yeah
I know you said you love your bars. I want that same setup but let me ask, how tall are you?
Sick
excellent
habibi.... keep riding...
Hell I’m 31 with a 22 RGST and it’s decked the hell out too. Where’s my vid? Lmao
Good stuff!! 😎👍🏼👍🏼 #gomotorcycling

Nov12 and snow is coming
Bout to hit the road for a few before the snow.
I won’t ride in snow but cold.. who cares
But I’d love to live in Cali so I could ride every damn day in nice weather
Living in California would have drawbacks also.
Bad ass

Never Heard of it. I don't know if I'll ever get off TH-cam I have too much invested here. There isn't anything I don't like about it

which shoei do u have?
How much do a Harley service writer make?
Not anywhere near enough to buy this bike. Horrible financial decision. They make 50-70k at most and usually less.
