@@EmmaHubbard the funny thing is, typical cues don't really work for us. They are either too subtle, non-existent, or too inconsistent to be practical. However, the cue that the giraffe isn't welcome in the gym was obvious. Poor thing received some serious death stares :D
Thank you for this distinction between pain and purple crying. Sadly, we frequently heard that babies just are fussy at that age when, in fact, our poor baby was in so much pain due to a lot of intolerances. Thankfully, I knew better.
Your videos have been such blessings to my husband and me in raising our first baby! To the point where, even at almost 5 months, I still enjoy watching your newborn videos because they give me good memories of those stages for our little girl 😊 thank you so much. We weren't ever really taught anything about parenting. You have helped us so much, and I am thankful we found your channel. I refer so many friends to you. God bless you and your family!
I wish you made this video a year and a half ago. :( My poor daughter went too long in pain due to intolerances and reflux. I felt in my core that something was wrong and NO ONE believed me. They all thought I was just being a new mom being worried over nothing and that all babies cry. Even her pediatrician. When I noticed a difference in her stools I tried to show them but they said they "don't care about poop" That finally changed when she started pooping blood. :( This was all during the formula crisis and I couldn't find hypoallergenic formula anywhere. She went about a month suffering while I tried in vain to cut every allergen I could think was hurting her out of my diet while checking every store within 20 miles for hypoallergenic formula. After finally finding it she was so much better in only two days. My poor baby.
Mine had cow milk protein intolerance even though she was exclusively breast fed. The doctor told me to eliminate dairy from my diet. My daughters mucousy stiols improved after a couple weeks. It takes a while for the gut to heal.
My baby lately has been crying and getting fussy, and at first I freaked out bc I couldn’t figure it out. But then I remembered babies can cry out of boredom. Normally I catch his boredom, but the thing is , lately he wants to sit up. He’s 3 months old but he has decided he likes sitting up and if I don’t help him, he is more than happy to let me know. 😂 😭
Thanks for emphasizing that purple crying may not be the answer. My 6-8 week son’s symptoms matched purple crying timing but all resolved each time we treated him as though he were teething early.
How did you know!? Last night was our first 1 hour crying session with no cues at 4 weeks. Baby would fall asleep in our arms and wake up when put in the bassinet. I figured out baby was waking up when baby felt the cool pad of the bassinet. I had mom lay on it for a minute and place it back in the bassinet. Baby finally went to sleep.
I’ve also heard of putting a heating pad on it first but I like the idea of me just lying on the mattress first to warm it up! Especially since it won’t be too hot like a heating pad might do. Good tip.
We had the same. I put a hot water bottle in her bed before I placed her and removed it just before I placed her into her bed. Also covering her with a small warm part of my own duvet helped 😊
I know this comment is a year old, but we just went through this our baby is 2 weeks old, started having blood in her stool, now we switched to Similac Alimentum and she’s so much better. What food did you switch to?? How’s your little one now
@ I just took out anything that had milk, dairy, carageenan, caseine, caseínate etc. he’s fine and fully able to have milk now as I microdosed him w milk in his food once he had teeth til he was fully able to have more n more in his meals. In fact I had another little in March - same issue - same deal.
Do you have any tips for a baby who seems to actively fight against sleep during the day? She sleeps through the night but is awake for hours during the day, and seems to actively fight against sleep even before becoming over tired. She is 10 weeks old
My son does this too!! He's also 10 weeks. Although he'll fall asleep in his high chair or car seat no matter how many times I've tried to put him down in his crib even with a swaddle he won't nap
Ours was like this, we found that she really needed contact with us (upright, in the first few of months so we used a carrier and nursing chair) and to be distracted to fall asleep. So we needed to sing and bounce her to calm down get little busy head so she could wind down to sleep
They also may just have to *burp* my daughter will be 2 months in a few days and it took me a little while to realize after checking the typical is she hungry, tired, needs changed that she just needed to burp! ! Sooooo if all else fails, try to burp them too lol🙃
Mine is 5 months and still cries nearly all the time! I think mostly due to gas still as gripe water helps soothe him. Just waiting for him to finally relax and be happy lol

Our 3 month old baby once cried because she didn't like the giraffe in the baby gym. Once we removed the giraffe she was fine. :)
😂

That is so adorable 😂
She knew giraffes are fake and wouldn’t fall for the propaganda.

Just curious but what was her intolerance?

We are at 6,5 weeks and I am so tired of guessing what the reason for crying might be, or if it's a combination of them 🙈
Yep my 4mo gets bored so easy. We just finished half an hour of singing and dancing to entertain her 😅
😂
I so feel you. I had to do this yesterday. One hour of entertainment, and I felt so tired. I had gone out for a workout earlier and I was exhausted.
Intolerance was my babies cause. I had to remove milk fully from my diet and couldn’t put it back in til he was 8months.

It’s amazing video! Thanks a lot❤️🙏
You're welcome 😊
Why did I watch all of this? I don't even have any kids!
😂😂😂😂
Me too😂😂
My 6 week old started crying more as soon as I changed into powder formula but she don't seem to be in pain she also has normal poops and pees so idk
My bby didn’t know when to sleep and cries excessive 4month old
Is the purple crying due to growing pains?
Not related to the topic but can you correct flat head at six months
Mine is 5 months and still cries nearly all the time! I think mostly due to gas still as gripe water helps soothe him. Just waiting for him to finally relax and be happy lol
Hopefully he starts to be more settled soon!

Why is it called purple crying?
Probably because they cry til they're purple in the face
Wenns grundlos flennt, aufs Maul legen Tür zu und brüllen lassen 😂
Ohaaa.. das arme Kind 😢
Peinliche unqualifizierte Aussage.
It's not "no reason"
