Egg Yolk as Fry Food?

Live food is best, but when you don't have anything else to feed your small egg-laying fish fry, egg yolk can be an option...but be careful!

If you were to feed goldfish fries in the case of emergency where you don't have live food, how can you keep feeding them boil egg yolk?

Excellent tip, and yes I have used egg yolk on a number of occasions. Fish often spawn when you are not ready for it.

I have a similar zebra danio story, I was culturing some java moss from my main aquarium in a new one and after moving the moss to another tank I noticed a bunch of fry in the tank and then reared them to find they were all zebra danio.

Hmm. I just put a whole egg yolk into a 20g with bbs. Noticed it bubbling. Thought maybe I should look it up. Yeah live and learn I guess lol.

Thanks! I needed will soon need more brine shrimp but if I only order brine shrimp from a online stor and do not get free shipping it is very expensive, so now I do not need to worry!
