Just a cheaper and equally effective way to supplement your isopods with calcium than cuttlebone, limestone, or most other commonly sold calcium sources IMO.
So I put *cuttlebone* in my enclosure with my hissers and dairy cow isopods 1:02 I cannot find this exact bag on Amazon, so I have to find another brand @InvertebrateDude
Thanks! Calcium supplementation is currently the biggest cost in keeping my GAL colony (I need them as a staple food for my glowworms)... I will check out, if this source may be cheaper than lime sold for gardening purposes. At the moment, I am still using cuttlefish bone though... 💸 The only alternative I tried so far for my isopods were crushed egg shells.
I know for a fact this works well for GALSs, and I assume it'll probably be cheaper than the limestone (though I don't know what prices for any of this stuff are like overseas, could be completely reversed).
@@ratfoot6490 GALS are Giant African Land Snails. Google them, they look amazing! Some countries can keep them as pets, the US has them banned nationwide because they are a severe agriculture risk. Even many zoos are restricted from having them in their live collections.
Never heard of anyone using that, but I assume it'd probably work quite well. Best way to find out is to try it yourself and see how your pods like it. :)
I've been showing this in videos for many years. Great tip.
Excellent tip!! Thanks for sharing 👍🏼
Hello
Forget buying calcium at all, save your egg shells that we've already paid for
That works as well, if you eat eggs a lot that is (I don't XD).
Not a big egg water either but my family does. Thanx for all your work and your contributions.
Thank you, TJ!

*sad sigh* I wish the US would allow GALS. I've wanted them for soooooo many years. :(
@@ScottyHunter what are GALs btw?

What do you think about using dead coral? I have a bunch for a calcium reactor.

doing this right on the carpet is a diabolical move
