I disagree with everyone here. I think the Russian delivery of that line is entirely too robotic. A cyborg is both machine and human. In all the other languages, you can really hear the human coming through in that line. Frankly, I think the Russian voice acting was the worst one. It's a shame because Russian can be such an evocative language.
They doing a fantastic job in Germany when it comes to dubbing movies and TV shows. It's a huge industry with all of them being real actors, not just some casual dudes dubbing movies. I'm always surprised by their quality.
@@Atariks That's a not really what it is like. In fact it's just that most of the german professional voice actors happen to be screen actors as well. That's also why we actually don't have many good ones and are limited to very few when it comes to dubbing, since screen acting nets you in way more money when your face is seen on screen and then there's also the aspect that their work is rarely properly honored, sometimes credits of a movie or video game don't even show the names of the voice actors. It's a hard and stressful job that gains you not much, you usually can only afford to do when you've already gained some reputation / money and is drastically underappreciated.

I like the original english version, but as an italian, I have to admit the italian dubbers made a wonderful job. So much expressiveness and pathos, especially in Luke´s voice. I also think the German dubbed version works really well.
Germany has a whole culture around it, the japanese even more so. The hungarian one was hilarious, and the ukranian one... Well not sure how much more i can possibly pity them.

Trust me on one thing.... there are some good ones, but quite a lot of awful ones as well. Nobody would get me to play any videogame in my language, for example. With the 'Anno' series being the ONLY exemption.

Fox Mulder and Dana Scully and Mel Gibson are the only voice actors, I can remember, who are the real ones.

As an italian I can tell you that the voice acting industry is quite big and important here, voice actors are highly regarded, even tho i still prefer the original dubbing of a movie, the Italian dubbing is generally quite high level. The complain i have about italian dubbing is usually the adaptation or the voice choice, that even tho they might be really well delivered per sé, they might be a little transformative compared to the original one, changing the meaning too much.

That's partly due to some iconic voice actors passing away, sadly, but also, speaking with professional voice actors that used to work on historic anime series, I've learnt the production is way less curated nowadays. They have stricter budgets and, consequently, stricter times. They used to take months to dub a movie, now it's made in a few weeks, with way fewer takes.

In Russia we have 3 Russian dubs. This is second dub made by ORT (The First Channel-Первый канал). The first was made in 1990, in USSR by MosFilm studio. The third, and final dub was made by Central Partnership.

In Russia we have 3 Russian dubs. This is second dub made by ORT (The First Channel-Первый канал). The first was made in 1990, in USSR by MosFilm studio. The third, and final dub was made by Central Partnership.

Fun fact: In Hungary, Episode 5 was the first dubbed Star Wars movie in 1982. In this video, you can hear that version. Episode 4 was first dubbed in 1984, while episode 6 was in 1992. In each movie, most of the characters had different voice actors. In 1995, the whole trilogy got a new dubbing, with another set of voice actors throughout the 3 movies. In 1997, when the Special Edition came out, Lucas wanted a completely new dubbing for the trilogy. Most of the voice actors were the same as in the '95 version, with a few alterations.
