I also have all of the Lloyd in Space episodes, that show aired simultaneously with Buzz Lightyear of Star Command ( at least where I lived ) it always played directly after Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. I always thought Lloyd in Space was great too, I always assumed there would at some point be a crossover, which we never saw. this video merely being a topic makes me sad because I was actually really into this show for a while... I loved the characters and the world that had been built for Buzz and friends to inhabit.
Love watching the TV show today, and I remember watching a bit of it as a kid, but had completely forgot about it till I saw it mentioned somewhere else some time back. Turns out TH-cam has most of the TV shows, and I couldn't believe just how good, humourous, and engaging they seemed to be, and although I barely remembered it it gave me joy that they were familiar faces I know I was enjoying as a kid at some point. Even if it was mainly the movie, but I swear I had to have watched the tv show as well back then to some degree
I definitely watched this show all the time after school!! I always watched the cartoons of our 90s and 2000s childhood/teen hood, especially Disney cartoons!!
Back when I was growing up I didn't have cable TV so cartoons on anything else except PBSKIDS was a treat and I remember Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on Disney's 1 Saturday Morning. I also watched the first network television airing of Toy Story 2 on ABC's Wonderful World of Disney now just a weekly movie program that keeps being canceled and then uncanceled since Disney's death in 1966. Sadly no more kid-friendly major network cartoons since 2014. Just reruns of SpongeBob Square Pants, live action young adults sit comes or reruns of long end cartoons.
I think the lightyear movie will be buzz as a rookie, so he hasn't done his years of academy training. as such he wouldn't actually be a space ranger yet. The other idea I figured they'd go with is to have a test pilot end up getting lost in space or time travelling and ending up being a fish in unfamiliar waters, and that they won't bother acknowledging BLoSC cartoon lore.
Watched this show in middle school on UPN. You didn't focus on how hilarious this show was. It was fantastic! I'm impressed you're old enough to remember sticky hands and hand clappers. Next, your gonna have tech decks used for interludes. They got most of the episodes up on youtube if you search for them. Disney takes 'em down but they keep coming back. This show is hard to watch like Gintama because its long and most episodes don't connect to the others. But it is a great time.
I remembered the Star Command TV show as its very nostalgic for me. It was on par with Ben 10 and 2003 Clone Wars for me. I did however, forget about the Star Command Game(s).
I vividly remember an episode or movie about Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command in which it had some twist villian who faked his death, that is about all I remember.
I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS SHOW!!!! I remember LOVING it as a kid! I liked the big red dinosaur the most xD I would love to watch it again since I barely remember it now.
See for me as a kid it was the fact that it wasn’t Tim Allen voicing buzz and I was so thrown off by that but I just could not get into the show. I was not aware of who Patrick Warburton was at the time.
I'm curious whether they will address any of the animated series' characters or have the movie act as a lead up to a remake of Star Command that has Pixar more involved similar to Monsters at Work and Doug, even though Doug was just a short run. I'm mostly curious to see how much of a connection Buzz and Warp had that losing Warp made Buzz disobey Star Command when they initially try to replace them.
You’ve definitely been doing a lot of Nickelodeon content recently I’ve noticed. But please don’t stop it anytime soon. I really hope you eventually talk about rocko’s modern life, angry beavers and aaaah! Real monsters. I have such a special connection with all those shows too.
I actually had the VHS movie and really enjoyed it, but I cannot remember how it ends. Did see some episodes when Brawl was released because of a sleepover party so that dates me. It was really entertaining and I enjoyed what the show was doing
My problem with the movie it is that this show existed, and had a distinct look, very colofur and a bit goofy... But the movie seems pretty generic in general. And you know... a red hair, blue princess psychic is tough to beat as a parnert in missions
Buzz Lightyear of Star Command taught me most about tropes and the status quo. Mira’s Wedding threatened a breakup of the team with an arranged marriage that had other ulterior motives, and once those were exposed Mira stayed with the team. It was the one episode of the show that stuck with me. AND THEN Teen Titans did Betrothed, and because that one BLOSC episode stuck with me, ALL of the dramatic tension was sucked out of it. Don’t get me wrong, Betrothed is still a great, fun episode, but like, how dare?
Lol for me it was the trope of 'Robot romancing with the Ship's computer' used a second time that made me go WHAT? When Futurama did the ep 'Love and Rocket'. When Bender fell in love with the planet express ship's computer I was like 'hmmm this plot seems familiar...' but at least Futurama tried a different storyline/route with that trope. Also I remember as a kid being so sad over the fact Buzz's ship's computer 42 dumped XR. If the episode didn't end on a funny joke of XR going back to his woman chasing antics when he saw that alien lady, I would have cried for days tbh.
I've heard if you can't come up with good ideas steal good ones, but make sure to use obscure source material as people don't respond the best to stolen stuff.
I enjoyed this show as a kid, for sure will see Lightyear once it comes out next summer. I think an interesting show that'd be fun to look back on would be Recess.
Criminally underrated show. I think it would’ve made a bigger impact if they were able to keep Tim Allen on for the show run. Patrick Warburton was amazing an delivered some truly comedic moments but I always find myself watching the Tim Allen dub of the movie. Just something about hearing Allen’s voice coming from animated Buzz is an unparalleled Buzz Lightyear experience.
Forgot the shy dorky green alien helper.....too bad this show didn't cross over with Lloyd in Space cause Lloyd and Kif share certain characteristics despite being somewhat different- both being dorky green aliens and whatnot.

it’s so funny you post this because i was just reminiscing about this exact show a few weeks ago 😍 love your channel!
this video merely being a topic makes me sad because I was actually really into this show for a while... I loved the characters and the world that had been built for Buzz and friends to inhabit.
I loved this show growing up. Zurg always killed it he was a comedic villain that could also be intimidating, something that even now is rare.
Honestly this series (and the movie) were criminally underrated
I didn't forget, this show was awesome and will always remain into my head forever
This is what Lightyear(2022) should’ve been. It could’ve been a G-rated Guardians of the Galaxy.
Man, I grew up with that show, can't imagine how hyped 7 year old me was when that came out.
I definitely watched this show all the time after school!! I always watched the cartoons of our 90s and 2000s childhood/teen hood, especially Disney cartoons!!
I’m in the future, and Lightyear is out, and it has absolutely nothing to do with this show.
Man it would have been great if Lightyear had all the same characters as the TV show ☹️
Pepper Ann is coming to Disney+ this month! I’m so excited!
The *Better* Lightyear
I remember watching this show in the morning while getting ready for school. Good times.
Same! Exactly what this reminds me of. Good times lol
Gintama is a great show. XD i double over laughing at the heidi mini-arc in the episode 90s.
THIS was better than light year.... Who agrees???
I remembered the Star Command TV show as its very nostalgic for me.
It was on par with Ben 10 and 2003 Clone Wars for me.
I did however, forget about the Star Command Game(s).
This was definitely an underrated show
I vividly remember an episode or movie about Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command in which it had some twist villian who faked his death, that is about all I remember.
Great video Jordan. Keep up the great work. Love your videos and Personality. Maybe you can do a video over the show Recess.
Thanks so much! And eventually will do so! I appreciate the support!
I loved the cartoon so much as a kid
Please let the new movie be a reboot to the cartoon. That way we can have all the characters from the show, with an updated look.
I’d love to see that, but we’ll have to wait until Summer 2022
Sadly it won't be. They hate the show.
RIP this comment
I AM SO GLAD SOMEONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS SHOW!!!! I remember LOVING it as a kid! I liked the big red dinosaur the most xD I would love to watch it again since I barely remember it now.
See for me as a kid it was the fact that it wasn’t Tim Allen voicing buzz and I was so thrown off by that but I just could not get into the show. I was not aware of who Patrick Warburton was at the time.
Because I’ve spent years consciously trying to forget it, and now you’ve reminded me. Thanks a lot!
Still have my VHS of it, I loved this show. It sucks that Disney really doesn’t care about it
I didn’t watch this show much as a kid, but I do remember it.
I remember watching the movie on repeat when I was little, it was my favorite thing in the world, and you've just brought up a great memory
Do you have a video about "Fillmore!"?
I only saw like 3 episodes of this show but I thought it was the coolest thing. I'd love to see more!
You’ve definitely been doing a lot of Nickelodeon content recently I’ve noticed. But please don’t stop it anytime soon. I really hope you eventually talk about rocko’s modern life, angry beavers and aaaah! Real monsters. I have such a special connection with all those shows too.
I remember really liking the design of Agent Z/Warp and that betrayal blew my little kid mind lol
We all know why we’re here don’t we? I mean, Captain America is totally going to be Buzz.
Captain Lightyear
I wanted more of this series and still want more to this day.
I actually had the VHS movie and really enjoyed it, but I cannot remember how it ends. Did see some episodes when Brawl was released because of a sleepover party so that dates me. It was really entertaining and I enjoyed what the show was doing
This Cartoon feels like THE In-Universe reason how Andy got the Buzz Toy.
My problem with the movie it is that this show existed, and had a distinct look, very colofur and a bit goofy... But the movie seems pretty generic in general. And you know... a red hair, blue princess psychic is tough to beat as a parnert in missions
I was a grown up watching with my kids... Loved this show.
9 months later...
Disney still doesn't care
:(
And now we have Lightyear...
Toy Story 2 Zurg (1999) and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command Zurg (2000-2001) are way better than Lightyear Zurg (2022).
I’ve Got The Dvd And A Couple Of Toys And Books From The Shows This Show Was My Childhood I Could Never Forget About This!
I love everything Toy Story so this stuck with me
This is Futurama....
Hear me out:
-An "alien" chick
-A sentient robot
-A Human main hero
-Red, clumsy alien fuck
-Govern by an old man
Forgot the shy dorky green alien helper.....too bad this show didn't cross over with Lloyd in Space cause Lloyd and Kif share certain characteristics despite being somewhat different- both being dorky green aliens and whatnot.
