FINALLY, THIS SHOW IS GETTING THE RECOGNITION IT DESERVES! It was such a huge fan of this, it was incredible. I literally loved it. I want more people to know it exists.
I remember one episode where Tommy and Robotboy were linked by a headband so that the former would copy the latter's movements in order to win in a fight against his bullies. But then partway through, Robotboy has to save the day against a villain (I forget who), and tommy's all by himself... but he's still convinced that Robotboy's there and does all these badass moves and wins in the end. Once he realizes that he beat them by himself, though, he passes out. Understandably so. I loved this show as a kid.
I Loved when Robotboy met his ‘brother’ Protoboy and how he tried his hardest to reform him and how he simply wanted his own brother like Tommy. It was a similar experience for me at school being an only child which made me wonder what it would be like to have a sibling.
I think this show is great, especially with the action scenes and relationship Tommy has with Robotboy! It’s a mix of badass and adorable :D I also really love Constantine, I always find it interesting when a villain’s sidekick isn’t as evil as them, or is even a friendly enemy to the heroes on occasion. I believe it was stated in one episode he was adopted by Dr. K and he threatens to take him back to the orphanage if he doesn’t carry out orders.
I remember as I kid, I loved super activated modes design. Scratched the itch that young kids have that love cool robots. Probably the same reason why I loved robotic sonic too.
Very underrated series I watched it and it was pretty good I like the characters (except Gus) and it was a show that was sort of brutal in its take downs like Robotboy straight up machine guns enemies.

so like back in 2005 or 2006, as kid, I went with my parents to visit someone and at this time we didn't have that nice TV at home, but they did, and that was the time when I discovered CN and this was the first cartoon I've seen. And I instantly fell in love with it, so you can imagine how excited I was when I finally got CN at home and could watch the show. So yeah I definately have some memories with the show.
You should do Atomic Betty next. I literally barely remember the show but the name POPPED in my head. And i think i remember it started to get some plot in later seasons or something
Self-aware badass battle robot built by japanese scientist does cute and badass things while trying to be like a real human. What's not to love about this show. It was a breath of fresh air in comparison to other shows back in 2005. VERY underrated and definitely worth watching. Glad I grew up with this. Loved this show.
Nice to hear you mention the games made for Sky TV. Playing those games (using a TV remote to control!) is a fun memory that I and other people from the UK have as children.
As someone from Ireland I got hit with a wave of nostalgia when he mentioned Sky Games I still remember the music jingle that played in the Home Screen to this day.
Robotboy while rather standard and flawed in many regards, was still a rather interesting show. I'm always a sucker for characters that have different forms. It was always hype as heck whenever that music kicks in and Robotboy goes from this SMOL little friendly robot to this silent but imposing TOWL robot that will kick your teeth in if you mess with him and his friends! XD
8:56 To be fair the Mega Man comparisons are completely warranted, Proto Boy is so similar to Proto Man that Capcom would probably have a legal case if they wanted.
Honestly given the premise it seemed to be at best a loose interpretation of Mega Man with a western spin, and at worst a ripoff more so than than when compared to My Life as a Teenage Robot or Robot Jones.
@@denniswilliams6519 Mega Man is also in turn loosely inspired by Astro Boy, so it seems a bit odd to single out Robotboy for being a "ripoff". Is it highly original? No, but then all these series are working off the same tropes anyway.

And gosh the nostalgia I felt, his super activated designs is such a big hit I love it Great show, fun to watch, great characters and cast, truly amazing experience Hoping to see a comeback of him one day, like a movie or special episode
I like Robotboy's design and concept, the humor in the show was very hit and miss for me and sometimes the jokes were just inserted in strange circumstances. As an adult I can definitely see why Robotboy's speaking pattern was seen as problematic. I think this show needed more of an overarching story behind the episodic nature, because at the core, the inspiration from Astro Boy/Megaman could've been used to its advantage. It just didn't do enough with the foundation to me.
I would argue Dr. Kamikazi was more problematic than Robotboy himself. His name especially is problematic given WHAT a Kamikazi pilot in WW2 was... It'd be like having a Middle Eastern supervillain called Dr. Jihadi. Basically the same thing.
I haven't noticed that as a kid, but hoo boy, the artist really liked Genndy Tartakovsky, didn't they. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I love his artsyle as well.
As a kid for me this stood number 1 on cartoon Network as the best show and will always be the best part of my childhood, i remember every time he would transform into his mega form it would be so badass. I hope kids growing up now and in the future somehow stumble upon this masterpiece.

I absolutely love Robotboy! I discovered the show in 2018 and I’ve watched it ever since. I had a few rough times in my middle school days and this show helped me get through those tough times. I’ve practiced Robotboy’s voice for a few years now (I want to be a voice actress when I get older) and I can do his voice pretty well. I love everything about this show, the voice acting, the characters design, the color pallet, even the music. Fun fact: Robotboy even has an official TH-cam channel. Anyway, Robotboy will forever be my favorite animated series and will forever be in my heart. 💙
I was able to catch this show a handful of times when it first came out in my region's CN. It didn't last very long there, but one time it even got a marathon and I was able to watch it! Really enjoyed it for sure. Dr Kamikaze constantly screaming "Constantine!' (in my regional dub ofc, this one being latin Spanish) was one of the most memorable parts to me
Loved robot boy and teenaged robot but robot boy left my mind after middle school and teenaged teenaged robot after high school. Love how this channel sparks memories of watching cartoons with my dad.
@@JordanFringe94 Thanks to your channel, I manage to heal my inner child a lil bit more. I can't say thank you enough times to you bro. Keep up the good stuff man 👍
Loved robots as a kid. All sorts of them. Even took stem classes in high school and was on a robotics team. Though my passion for medicine outweighed my passion for engineering. I was like 7 or 8 when this aired and every episode made me hope I could grow up to be a robot boy lol.
Oh my god there have been so many shows I watched when I was younger that I don't remember until they're mentioned/shown to me and robotboy has been shoved so far back, I have no idea why but the moment the villains popped up on screen I immediately remembered everything
I used to love Constantine as a kid, kind of my pseudo favourite character because he was an evil sidekick with a good heart. Loyal but compassionate. Constantine needed more love from the show than he got
Robotboy is #5 on my list of favorite animated television series. However, while I only watched it casually when it was on television, it was watching the episodes on TH-cam that really made me a fan. Something tells me Robotboy is more suited as a web series than as a television show. But then why is it so high on my list? Well, two reasons. First of all, I love the animation style. I think this is the show where I got my style for my own animation work. I really like square haeds and styles that make kids look cute. And that provokes my second reason; Tommy Turnbull. Tommy is my favorite character on this show. Not only does he look cute, but he has plenty of compassion for Robotboy. I had to pause multiple times while watching the show so I could see his cute face. As for the action, while I am more interested in Tommy's cuteness, I cannot deny that Robotboy's transformation powers are interesting. And anyone who brings up comparisons to Astro Boy or My Life as a Teenage Robot, well, Teenage Robot is on my list of favorite series too, and Astro Boy joins Pokemon and Beyblade on my list of favorite anime shows. I guess I just love the concept of a robot who wants to be a real person. Sure, I could complain about Gus being selfish, or how there is more gas humor than I could care for, but I have come to get used to those problems quickly. I would gladly watch Robotboy multiple times, and that gives the show a high spot n my favorite television list.
What joins Robotboy in my top five favorites, you ask? Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Chowder, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, and another European cartoon: The Amazing World of Gumball.
I remember seeing a few episodes of Robotboy growing up, I often got it mixed up with Nickelodeon's My Life as a Teenage Robot, which I don't blame myself for doing so, still glad to hear it still holds up. Hopefully a revival of sorts could happen, things have been weirder these days.
all those shows you listed at the beginning i had no idea they all started around the same time, those were like my favourite shows as kid!! that a very good year, for cartoon boys!!!
i was absolutely OBSESSED with this show as a kid to the point my mom recorded some episodes of it on VHS for me. This video brought me so much nostalgia.
Fun Facts, my dads nephey made& Drew this show. I asked my grandma to please please beg him for a drawing/signature. I got it like 2 years later and he wrote my name wrong lmao, the drawings still in my room. It's him at 9:40
Honestly it made me watch so even if it was inspired by other shows similar, it was to me different and made in a way where i would continue to watch and laugh! It brought back good memories of the weekends where i was able to watch cartoons as my father had "the big channel pack" just for me to watch non stop every other weekend :)
Anyone remember Chaotic on 4Kids? I watched this so much as a kid and feel like it was super slept on with all the TCG shows that were going around. Even rewatching it now I still think it holds up, would be awesome to review it :)
Dude, your channel keeps hitting me with all the nostalgia. Bless you. Personally, what hyped me up as a kid with Robotboy was whenever he turned into his battle form.
Wasn't it the French version that gave Robotboy's super activated form a voice? I know that something like that existed. I loved Robotboy. It was one of my favorites. CN wasn't wrong when they assumed that the show had potential. It really did. It's the behind the scenes drama that ended it too early.
Man you showing all of the other shows that came out really gave me flashbacks and I could never remembered where the robot from robot boy was from cuz I could never remember the name
Damn this is nostalgic. I loved this show and I remember jumping from exitment everytime an episode would start. At the time, that was right up there with Ben ten and star wars the clone wars as my favourite shows.

I loved Robotboy as a kid, hell i used to binge watch that show all time when i was a teenager!
I loved robot boy. Soo underrated in my opinion. 😭
I was able to catch this show a handful of times when it first came out in my region's CN. It didn't last very long there, but one time it even got a marathon and I was able to watch it! Really enjoyed it for sure. Dr Kamikaze constantly screaming "Constantine!' (in my regional dub ofc, this one being latin Spanish) was one of the most memorable parts to me
Still love sum random skits about Robotboy trying to cosplay as Bubbles in one of those short break commercials
I saw this thumbnail and a memories unlocked in my brain,
Thanks for this video bro
Loved robot boy and teenaged robot but robot boy left my mind after middle school and teenaged teenaged robot after high school. Love how this channel sparks memories of watching cartoons with my dad.
I discovered your channel today, and you managed to unlock so many childhood memories of mine. Amazing work dude 👏
Thanks so much for watching!
@@JordanFringe94 Thanks to your channel, I manage to heal my inner child a lil bit more. I can't say thank you enough times to you bro. Keep up the good stuff man 👍
Robotboy was my childhood,It was on Cartoon Network in the UK where I’m from until 2016
as soon as I saw the thumbnail, I remembered, even though it hasn't been on my mind in like almost 2 decades
Being an enjoyer of My Life As A Teenage Robot, Robot Boy was an instant favorite. Wished both shows had gone on longer.
@@starfighterz7112 OH I know!
Loved robots as a kid. All sorts of them. Even took stem classes in high school and was on a robotics team. Though my passion for medicine outweighed my passion for engineering. I was like 7 or 8 when this aired and every episode made me hope I could grow up to be a robot boy lol.
You needed to combine them ! Medbots !
@@Gatorade69 They need to create Baymax!
Ah nice! One of my favorite shows I enjoyed watching back when it was on Cartoon Network back then. Thanks for covering info on this show.
Oh my god there have been so many shows I watched when I was younger that I don't remember until they're mentioned/shown to me and robotboy has been shoved so far back, I have no idea why but the moment the villains popped up on screen I immediately remembered everything
For me it was seeing that transformation
I love drawing robotboy at the back of my notebook before when I was still in elementary because of how simple to draw him.
This show (like a lot of animated shows) deserved more than what it got
I used to love Constantine as a kid, kind of my pseudo favourite character because he was an evil sidekick with a good heart. Loyal but compassionate. Constantine needed more love from the show than he got
Robotboy was my absolute favorite show. When he went into his super mode I would always lose my mind! 😂😅 I loved the theme!
the way you pronounced jan van rijsselberge was pretty funny. great video, loved robotboy when i was a kid
I loved this show. It was one of my all-time favourites next to Tom & Jerry and Juniper Lee. Damn I miss those days
What’s ur top 5
What joins Robotboy in my top five favorites, you ask? Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Chowder, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, and another European cartoon: The Amazing World of Gumball.

I remember seeing a few episodes of Robotboy growing up, I often got it mixed up with Nickelodeon's My Life as a Teenage Robot, which I don't blame myself for doing so, still glad to hear it still holds up. Hopefully a revival of sorts could happen, things have been weirder these days.
Robotboy: Cartoon Networks answer to My Life As A Teenage Robot
all those shows you listed at the beginning i had no idea they all started around the same time, those were like my favourite shows as kid!! that a very good year, for cartoon boys!!!
i was absolutely OBSESSED with this show as a kid to the point my mom recorded some episodes of it on VHS for me. This video brought me so much nostalgia.
Jordan you really hit me in the core memories with this one
Oh the Nostalgia,I remember watching this.
I remember Robot Boy. Keep up the great content Jordan.
I appreciate the support, thanks so much!
@@JordanFringe94 You're welcome!
Fun Facts, my dads nephey made& Drew this show. I asked my grandma to please please beg him for a drawing/signature. I got it like 2 years later and he wrote my name wrong lmao, the drawings still in my room. It's him at 9:40
This channel reminds me that I've watched a lot of cartoons more than I remember
I miss this 2000s animation style, it was so nostalgic and I hope it makes a retro theme return
Can't remember something I never forgot 💙 especially wishing all the years that the outro music of the show had an extended version.
Honestly it made me watch so even if it was inspired by other shows similar, it was to me different and made in a way where i would continue to watch and laugh! It brought back good memories of the weekends where i was able to watch cartoons as my father had "the big channel pack" just for me to watch non stop every other weekend :)
I’m so glad I found this video, been asking my friends if they remembered the show and none didn’t
I’m literally gonna watch every single episode at some point so thank you for the content..childhood memories unlocked
it was a truly underrated show from Cartoon Network
Anyone remember Chaotic on 4Kids? I watched this so much as a kid and feel like it was super slept on with all the TCG shows that were going around. Even rewatching it now I still think it holds up, would be awesome to review it :)
I remember that show existing. I remember having watched a few episodes when it came on. But I can't for the life of me remember what it was about.
This was a great show to watch as a kid. It was a shame it didn’t stay as long as it could have.
Dude, your channel keeps hitting me with all the nostalgia. Bless you. Personally, what hyped me up as a kid with Robotboy was whenever he turned into his battle form.
this vid unlocked a memory for me. I remember being fascinated by the robot as a kid, and I thought his big form was so cool
Same, it’s a burned in memory 😂
Oh my god the nostalgia. I adored this show. It's probably one of the biggest reasons I'm in love with sci fi and robotics to this day
Wasn't it the French version that gave Robotboy's super activated form a voice? I know that something like that existed.
I loved Robotboy. It was one of my favorites. CN wasn't wrong when they assumed that the show had potential. It really did. It's the behind the scenes drama that ended it too early.
I watched the french version. From what I can remember, the best he could do was grunting...
@@chrispambo1539 I just saw a clip. He does speak in the French dub.
No but i remember the mom

Man you showing all of the other shows that came out really gave me flashbacks and I could never remembered where the robot from robot boy was from cuz I could never remember the name
This show got me through a lot of rough phases growing up, so it holds a special place for me.
I liked this cartoon. Watching the episodes on youtube brought back nostalgia. Also you said "professor Moshima". It's Mashimo.
it's Moshimo, it can be sounded out and said both ways by characters throughout the show with more or less emphasis on making the o sound like an a
@@JordanFringe94 My bad. Thought it was mashimo. They really should've corrected the actors when they made those mistakes.
It's all good, they do the same with Kamikaze in this show and I mention that later on in the video since it was more noticable lol
Two things that I remember vividly from this show. That kickass super activation theme...and Tommy's mom.
You know why.
I used to wish My Life as a Teenage Robot and Robotboy would have a cross-network crossover.
I loved so much to watch robotboy in my country from Romania with they speaked my language, when I was like 11 years it was my favorite show ahaha
This man Jordan hitting all my memory canals and scepters I didn’t know i have! Thank you for the childhood nostalgia!
Damn this is nostalgic. I loved this show and I remember jumping from exitment everytime an episode would start. At the time, that was right up there with Ben ten and star wars the clone wars as my favourite shows.
