Awesome! Absolute legendary Northern soul sound. Everytime I hear this I am transported back to Wigan Casino in the 70's. KTF guys X
On my favourite northern soul list too. Ktf wonderful nostalgic stuff.
You should see this song played at a Northern Soul Club back in the 70’s, Northern England
Northern soul has been the music to dance to in uk for so long..
Just a beautiful little slice of Northern Soul. Absolutely perfect in every way.
I find Northern Soul fascinating as it is the forerunner of House in a way.... Working class kids travelling maybe up to a hundred miles to congregate in a club and dance all night to Black American music.
yes, the acid house/rave/hardcore/ jungle techno scene
Brilliant song. Please listen to some more Northern Soul. It's so big here in the UK. Take care.
Great dance track as most NS songs are of course 😊
It was covered recently by Bruce Springsteen and it was also recorded by fellow Motown artist Chris Clark
Loving these Northern Soul reactions!! Could you please react to Suspicion by The Originals? Keep up the great work guys
We will add it to the list. Also how do we pronounce your name?
Hi guys, thanks again for featuring a bit more Northern Soul (two in a week, albeit due to the Valentine's link 👍👍) - this track is widely regarded a classic of the genre. It is the original but it's been covered a couple of times so that may be where you heard it.
BBC Proms - Northern Soul this year as a special. Go watch it, brilliant.
If you haven't seen guys in the UK northern soul scene doing their incredible dancing to this kind of music - oh you have to see it. It's basically incredible
“Groovy kind of love” was originally by The Mindbenders….lots of versions though.
Great to hear some Northern Soul reacted to….you may have hit upon a niche that nobody…or very few react to.
Keep the faith
CHEERS FOR THAT REQUEST GUYS, PLENTY MORE WERE THAT CAME FROM, IT WAS ORIGINAL MOTOWN BUT LATER GOT A DIFFERENT LABEL FOR THE UK MARKET, APPARANTLY DJ AT WIGAN CASINO WENT TO FLORIDA AND BOUGHT A LOAD IF THESE GARAGE TYPE RECORDINGS BUT HIS DADS SMALL PLANE WOULDNT LIFT OFF LOL, WIGAN WAS VOTED BEST DANCE DISCO IN WORLD, HAVE A LOOK AT NORTHERN SOUL DANCERS, THEY ARE REALY GOOD, SPLITS AND SPINS LOL
Frank Wilson wasn’t happy with his recording and asked for all copies to be destroyed two got out and one copy now fetches for one hundred thousand pounds and is the rarest Northern soul single
A love song that is very underrated is Rainbow eyes by Rainbow. This is Dio at his most gentle.
Very weird how America didn't like a lot of this, took us brits to uncover it, which I did in 1971, we had northern soul line dancing to little Queenie by Bill black combo who I think was a session band for Elvis
A very rare record that last time it was sold it went for over £25000 but is very common you here it everywhere
Sold Last year £100000
The last song ever played at Wigan Casino. Often gets an airing at the DW Stadium at Wigan Athletic home games
Wrong this was not the last record ever played at Wigan, did you go
@@kevinjackson6387 No I didn't go, I'm not a massive fan of Northern Soul but I've just got this from the DJ who played the final set, "After playing the 3 before 8 three times, I had to break the spell and, approaching 9 30 am, finished with Frank Wilson’s ‘Do I Love You’"😁Sorry pal.
@@btj-oo8xc sorry pal he’s telling porkies I was there
@@kevinjackson6387 Who was the DJ?
@@btj-oo8xc your on about russ winstanley sorry if I’ve spelt it wrong
Fantabulous!
A classic Northern Soul track.
KTF.
The Mindbenders had hit during the 1960s with Groovy Kind Of Love.
🥰🥰🥰 Great song!
One of the most expensive 45 ‘s ever sold at £28,000 🤷🏽♂️👍
That's a pile of cash for just a 45.
in the 1940s the biggest american airbase was built in the northwest of England in the 50s and 60s the the Americans who where based there brought there soul records took them to the local clubs and the locals loved it and adopted it creating northern soul the reason it sounds like Motown is because Motown bought up many small record labels and cherry picked the artist and song writers to create the Motown sound in America at the time small independent record labels where in different states so it only got played on local radio depending what state you lived depended on what you would hear on the local stations and many did not get national air time so when the troops brought their records here we got the collective from all over the states Motown was born out of this music and along the same idea but they could give it national coverage hence Motown's success web search the Motown artist you will find many where signed to independent labels before Motown northern soul lives on here with many clubs who have a northern soul night my favorite club as a teenager Wigan casino but i also went to the twisted wheel and the torch clubs so seeing somebody reacting to it now and enjoying it like i do is wonderful to end with i will use the northern soul motto KEEP THE FAITH
I have another suggestion before I forget. This one is incredible. Joe Cocker, N'oubliez Jamais. Far different from anything so far heard on your channel so far.
probably one of the most expensive 45's around, think there are only 2 or maybe 3 copies around, the rest were destroyed by mowtown in the 60's.
It was covered by Bruce Springsteen.
Please review, '' when I'm old and wise'', by The Alan Parsons project
What's the wait for your song? A month?
Well, we're not doing them in the order we get them. Generally, we choose one artist we've done and one we haven't. So far, it's been widening our scope and introducing us to musical styles we've never heard. We're pretty happy with it.
