Frank Wilson's "Do I Love You" was recorded for Motown in Los Angeles instead of Detroit. The bass player was Carol Kaye, the incredible female bass player in the L.A. studios of the 60's. She played on a huge number of hit records including some of the Beach Boys sessions, Phil Spector's stuff, etc.

The record was sold recently for £100,000 ( $123,190 U.S) to a business man from Leicestershire.I think there are only three known copies: one is in the Motown archives; another got warped by accident and the third is now owned by Lee Jeffries.
Frank Wilson did the Demo to let the intended singer know how the song should be sung. There is a unreleased version by Chris Clark in the vaults of Motown.
When Berry Gordy heard the record he suggested he come and come and work for him as a producer and writer. He was to kind to say you're not a good singer and he ordered that all the remaining copies to be melted down and recycled. Three escaped.
Think there is a general low feeling throughout the country. Pandemics and cold hearted politicians laughing at the public don't help. Christmas day gone and i finally get to catch up for an hour or 2 online. hope the things that are getting you down vanish and don't let anyone grind you down. Haven't heard it to make a comparison but yeah it's not great when a song is covered and not well. You just gotta get it right outs your head. Maybe listen to the Birdie song, that would do it lol
