Hi Costel, first, thanks a lot for doing this! I've just tried with my 2019 Corolla but unfortunately it didn't work. The model is 17TDT2EU-DA01. I got first the Error 001 message and proceeded to use your fix, the software was updated sucessfully because the Audio version changed (was 1011 and now is 1020), but nothing happens when I connect an Android phone. I've tried with a Xiaomi Rednote 10 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 20, both with original cables. On Sources, the USB option is disabled, I can't select it. Looking back at the video again, when you show that after the update in the software information is saying it's an open source one, on mine nothing changes, it's still the same as before. Found another person commented that his Audio was upgraded from 1020 to 1023, mine is still 1020 after the update... Any ideas please? Thanks.
Hello Costel ! I have the same problem that @ozkneto, my car is a Toyota Corolla 2020 with a Panasonic UNIT 17TDT2EU-DA02. In first, I've got the 001 ERROR and I'd fixed it with your message, after that, the upgrade was a success with a blue screen, I restarted it and I tested it and it's not working actually, with any type of phones, I tried iPhones and Androids but the system don't recognized it and the CarPlay/Android Auto don't start. The system upgrade seems to be installed successfully because Audio version is now 1020v... Do you have any solutions for us ? Thank you!

I initially used a multiple downloader and decompressing of files failed. Don't use multiple downloaders, use only regular download function of your browser. I plugged USB flash and started engine. Whole procedure took about 45 minutes. It restarted some 15-20 times, do not interrupt the process and wait patiently until you see "update complete remove usb flash and restart". Info on upgrading the Unit with NAVIGATION: Hi. Thanks for upload. Installed it according to your instructions and it works. Sometimes I need to "activate" phone for Carunit to recognize AndroidAuto (but usualy detects it on its own). This means I have to touch phone screen or push one of buttons on the phone. I connect through cable. As for people asking regarding Unit with navigation. I installed it on RAV4 Hybrid MY2019 (one of the first of new models in country as it was showroom model) with Touch2Go + NAVI. Therefore I can confirm it works with the unit that is originaly shipped with navigation. After update all maps remained and I can still use "original" navigation if needed. Must say, that I didn't upgrade maps since end of 2022 when initial 3 year subscription expired. For those which are wondering about the 3 USB sticks: as can be seen in the video, Costel's Toyota was without nav so it needed only one USB (the 3rd one)! My 2019 RAV4 (17TDT2EU-DA02) is with nav, so I needed all 3 USBs (links and usage order is specified in BE_00439T_TME pdf: sticks 1-2-1-3-2). Whole retrofit upgrade procedure took 1.5h so be very patient: don't turn off or disconnect unless instructed to do so! Original versions vs final versions: DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA02 -> 17TDT2EU-DA30 MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA00 -> 17TMT2EU-FA10 Audio = 1000 -> 1075 Nav = 1512 -> 1120 Note: after all these, I also used a 4th USB with only 17TMT2EU-FA10_1170.kwi and 17TDT2EU-DA30_0076.kwi (17TMT2EU-FA10_latest zip and 17TDT2EU-DA30_latest zip from toyota-motor-europe) which did an additional final upgrade: DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA30 MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA10 Audio = 1075 -> 1170 Nav = 1120 -> 1170 In the end, there is an excellent Android Auto connection: both Google Maps or Nokia/Here Maps work excellent and navigation indications are also shown on the digital speedometer (same way as the original Toyota maps did).

Hi there. It will most likely work if the model you have is listed within the description. Now concerning warranty, not sure what to answer. The firmware is open source from the unit manufacturer, not from Toyota and will only update the Audio Firmware and not the car software. The update should only be found manually and not automatically. The firmware is for the audio unit only, so at worst, if something goes wrong (which shouldn't), only your audio module should be affected. I have personally done this on at least 50 cars without issues, both with and without navigation. Please ensure you prepare the flash drive correctly. Format it using FAT32. If you have already tried with Windows, use a MacBook instead. Then, copy the files into the flash drive's root folder as shown in my video. If your car unit is not working at all, it is not due to the firmware, as the update is only for the audio part of the unit. Try again and let me know.

Info on upgrading the Unit with NAVIGATION:
Hi.

Original versions vs final versions:
DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA02 -> 17TDT2EU-DA30
MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA00 -> 17TMT2EU-FA10
Audio = 1000 -> 1075
Nav = 1512 -> 1120
Note: after all these, I also used a 4th USB with only 17TMT2EU-FA10_1170.kwi and 17TDT2EU-DA30_0076.kwi (17TMT2EU-FA10_latest zip and 17TDT2EU-DA30_latest zip from toyota-motor-europe) which did an additional final upgrade:
DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA30
MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA10
Audio = 1075 -> 1170
Nav = 1120 -> 1170
In the end, there is an excellent Android Auto connection: both Google Maps or Nokia/Here Maps work excellent and navigation indications are also shown on the digital speedometer (same way as the original Toyota maps did).

Hi,
I've got a 2019 Corolla 17DT1EU-DA01 Audio: 1011
Should I try it? if something goes wrong do I have to replace unit?
You should definitely give it a try. however follow the instructions from the PDF as in my experience with this unit you will have to use the three USBs
@@CostelTarata Did it and worked.
I didn't have to use the first one because I don't have the navigation unit.
I plugged the second one and it did nothing so I panicked a bit, then i read the document saying if the second one doesn't do anything it means your unit is updated, just plug the third.
I did it and it worked!
@davidenobili8665 enjoy your updated unit!
Did it upgrade the version as 17DT1EU-DA31? Because in my case, it doesn’t work even though software has been upgraded using the third USB.
@abhinaybyrisetty6818 I'll check the version tomorrow, I just looked if there was android auto after the update and it was there.
What was your procedure?
Hi i figured out how to download the 3 usb image, since i have a 17TDT1EU-DA02 and 17TMT2EU-FA00 i think i should go with the 3 usb drive. My question is , before i do it can i just update the head unit and not the navigation system since my navigation system version is quite new i got 2022 v1 can i start with the secont usb drive? or i have to do all 3 ?

Thats because the update depends from unit to unit, and the usb is not “copied” in the unit. It contains many files for updates for many different units.

I can see in the comments that model is listed but confused does anyone already tried with te sat nav? Do I loose the warranty after that modes? Hi there. It will most likely work if the model you have is listed within the description.
Now concerning warranty, not sure what to answer. The firmware is open source from the unit manufacturer, not from Toyota and will only update the Audio Firmware and not the car software.
I did it without even thinking, my car went twice to Toyota service and they haven’t even realized I asume as they never told me anything about it.
I guess you are going to have to risk, or wait until warranty goes away.

It will work with all 3 USB’s follow the instructions and be patient
For this error:
stuck on line 69 DCU [REPRO]Vup Completed. then i have tried this
So, what I did:
formated the 32GB Sandisk USB to FAT32 on Windows;
loaded all the USB 3 files to above prepared USB
deleted "phaseup.dat" file from the root of the USB 3.
inserted USB stick into the car and started the car
the UPDATE begun and I waited until the blue screen said "successful"
shut the car down, removed USB and started car up
checked under Settings -> General -> Software update
did not have Audio 1011 but 1020, but went on and checked Model Information and added a note of DCU model number and DCU Part numbers (in my case 86140-02740)
inserted the same USB back into the computer and from the root went to following folders: "VehicleParameter -> DCU -> and looked for the DCU Part number I noted down before (so in my case 86140-02740. Then from there I went as follows: DCU -> FactoryID -> and opened "env_pana.txt" file.
in the env_pana.txt file search for the line "VP_PANA_model_ID=" and note down the following model number (in my case 17TDT2EU-DA30)
then go back to the root directory of the USB and delete the file corresponding to your CURRENT DCU model number, in my case 17TDT2EU-DA02 so I deleted file 17TDT2EU-DA02_7910.kwi BUT remembered (copied to notes/notepad) the file name.
I then looked for the file consisting of 17TDT2EU-DA30 which in my case is 17TDT2EU-DA30_7910.kwi and renamed it into 17TDT2EU-DA02_7910.kwi
After this is done, I shut down the car, inserted USB, started car up and let it finish the installation.
Many thanks to Costel this method worked on my Toyota Corolla excel.

How can i exit this programing mode?
I cant use the screen at all..
