Hi Costel, first, thanks a lot for doing this! I've just tried with my 2019 Corolla but unfortunately it didn't work. The model is 17TDT2EU-DA01. I got first the Error 001 message and proceeded to use your fix, the software was updated sucessfully because the Audio version changed (was 1011 and now is 1020), but nothing happens when I connect an Android phone. I've tried with a Xiaomi Rednote 10 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 20, both with original cables. On Sources, the USB option is disabled, I can't select it. Looking back at the video again, when you show that after the update in the software information is saying it's an open source one, on mine nothing changes, it's still the same as before. Found another person commented that his Audio was upgraded from 1020 to 1023, mine is still 1020 after the update... Any ideas please? Thanks.
Hello Costel ! I have the same problem that @ozkneto, my car is a Toyota Corolla 2020 with a Panasonic UNIT 17TDT2EU-DA02. In first, I've got the 001 ERROR and I'd fixed it with your message, after that, the upgrade was a success with a blue screen, I restarted it and I tested it and it's not working actually, with any type of phones, I tried iPhones and Androids but the system don't recognized it and the CarPlay/Android Auto don't start. The system upgrade seems to be installed successfully because Audio version is now 1020v... Do you have any solutions for us ? Thank you!

All perfect in a corolla 2019 (17TDT1EU-DA02) no NAVI . My process was different than from what is seen in your video ....I bought a new USB, which is already in Fat32 from the factory and I put the unzipped files in it. Once the USB was inserted into the car, it automatically detected it and carried out the process, restarting itself many times . The process took approximately 30-40 minutes (in your car only 7 min). Thank you very much Costel U are the best.
Thanks!! Worked fantastic. Pay attention - use at least 32 gb Fat32, copy all the exctracted files from the compressed file in the link. Let the car do the rest. Worked on corola space 2019

I initially used a multiple downloader and decompressing of files failed. Don't use multiple downloaders, use only regular download function of your browser. I plugged USB flash and started engine. Whole procedure took about 45 minutes. It restarted some 15-20 times, do not interrupt the process and wait patiently until you see "update complete remove usb flash and restart". The procedure was completed successfully.

Info on upgrading the Unit with NAVIGATION: Hi. Thanks for upload. Installed it according to your instructions and it works. Sometimes I need to "activate" phone for Carunit to recognize AndroidAuto (but usualy detects it on its own). This means I have to touch phone screen or push one of buttons on the phone. I connect through cable. As for people asking regarding Unit with navigation. I installed it on RAV4 Hybrid MY2019 (one of the first of new models in country as it was showroom model) with Touch2Go + NAVI. Therefore I can confirm it works with the unit that is originaly shipped with navigation. After update all maps remained and I can still use "original" navigation if needed. I inserted USB and update started. After 10 min it failed with error and red screen. I rebooted and everything was back to normal. Only thing i noticed is that my audio version was updated now to 1020. Nothing changed except it seems that infotainment works a little bit faster and boots a little bit faster, but unfortunately no android auto. I dont know is there something else i could try? unfortunately I do not have an aswer to it mate. To some people worked and to some not. I guess is all about prepping the USB. I had mine prepped on a MacBook pro (windows would not format Fat32 on partitions larger than 32GB and the one I used was 64GB) it worked on my video. I did for someone as well a copy of mine, and I used the method showed in the video, and worked as well on his car. I guess you should try a different USB or retracing the steps. Remember, copy on the USB ROOT not on a folder.

For those which are wondering about the 3 USB sticks: as can be seen in the video, Costel's Toyota was without nav so it needed only one USB (the 3rd one)! My 2019 RAV4 (17TDT2EU-DA02) is with nav, so I needed all 3 USBs (links and usage order is specified in BE_00439T_TME pdf: sticks 1-2-1-3-2). Whole retrofit upgrade procedure took 1.5h so be very patient: don't turn off or disconnect unless instructed to do so! Original versions vs final versions: DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA02 -> 17TDT2EU-DA30 MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA00 -> 17TMT2EU-FA10 Audio = 1000 -> 1075 Nav = 1512 -> 1120 Note: after all these, I also used a 4th USB with only 17TMT2EU-FA10_1170.kwi and 17TDT2EU-DA30_0076.kwi (17TMT2EU-FA10_latest zip and 17TDT2EU-DA30_latest zip from toyota-motor-europe) which did an additional final upgrade: DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA30 MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA10 Audio = 1075 -> 1170 Nav = 1120 -> 1170 In the end, there is an excellent Android Auto connection: both Google Maps or Nokia/Here Maps work excellent and navigation indications are also shown on the digital speedometer (same way as the original Toyota maps did).

hi there. I am not sure about this unit as the firmware is for the Denso/Fujitsu one. You can try and see what is the outcome, like checking if even recognizes the update from your radio settings. it might work, or not. The good thing is that it should not affect your existing configuration as this is just an AUDIO module update. Either way, do it at your one consideration and responsibility.

Hi there. It will most likely work if the model you have is listed within the description. Now concerning warranty, not sure what to answer. The firmware is open source from the unit manufacturer, not from Toyota and will only update the Audio Firmware and not the car software. Thanks.
Found another person with the same DCU unit as me but apparently he used 3 USB sticks and in your there is just USB3... Can you help please?
Thank you!

Info on upgrading the Unit with NAVIGATION:
Hi. Must say, that I didn't upgrade maps since end of 2022 when initial 3 year subscription expired.

DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA02 -> 17TDT2EU-DA30
MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA00 -> 17TMT2EU-FA10
Audio = 1000 -> 1075
Nav = 1512 -> 1120
Note: after all these, I also used a 4th USB with only 17TMT2EU-FA10_1170.kwi and 17TDT2EU-DA30_0076.kwi (17TMT2EU-FA10_latest zip and 17TDT2EU-DA30_latest zip from toyota-motor-europe) which did an additional final upgrade:
DCU = 17TDT2EU-DA30
MEU = 17TMT2EU-FA10
Audio = 1075 -> 1170
Nav = 1120 -> 1170
In the end, there is an excellent Android Auto connection: both Google Maps or Nokia/Here Maps work excellent and navigation indications are also shown on the digital speedometer (same way as the original Toyota maps did).

17TDT2EU-DA01 has to use the 3 sticks option. Just follow the instructions and magic happens 😀💪🏻
Glad it worked mate!

I really appreciate the guidance! I installed it successfully on my rav4 2019 model. now there is android auto!if we meet, I'll invite you for a beer!!!! Thank you!

Please let us know your car model and radio model! Enjoy Android Auto
Hi Costel, do you have ways to update the navigation map? Existing Navigation : 1120; navdb_version: 2019v1. Thanks!
Not sure this will update the maps. I meant to give you something better like carplay and android auto
Do you also have NA versions of these files? I have a Toyota where the only difference in the model number is it saying NA instead of EU. Also, are these files any different than the updates you can get from the official Toyota website. My goal with this is to get Android Auto on a 2019 Toyota RAV4 that only comes with Apple CarPlay from the factory and not Android Auto. Will doing this update with your update files add the Android Auto software onto my Toyota?
Hi there mate, unfortunately not. EU spec vehicles came without option for CarPlay until 2021. The current firmware is for those models only.
Im in a similar situation, mine is NA with Apple CarPlay but I have android. Did it work for you when you tried it?
@@yemi0 you need to buy a carlinkit. Only solution I have found
I'm working on adding Android Auto to a 2020 Sienna in the US with a Panasonic unit. This bulletin is for European. I'm going to look for a US bulletin.
Make sure to check with the toyota.com website as usually in the United States it is possible to update your entertainment unit for free
Hello friend, thank you so much for your efforts,
a question, dose this package works for Toyota corolla (pioneer) 2020 USA?
I guess you can try and see. But this is a firmware for Denso Fujitsu hardware, therefore I guess the Pioneer unit would not recognize the update file.
worked great! easy as shown!
Glad it could help mate!
It worked for me too, but make sure that the phone is set when you connect the usb cable to Android auto mode. Many thanks!
Glad it helped mate. Cheers
Hi I have Camry 2019 EU - DCU 17TDT2EU-DA01. Audio Ver 1046
USB 1 doesn't work - I tried different , I set vol 0
Any suggestions ?
Not working for Camry mate, something with the initial hardware (from factory). Your only option is checking the dealer pr go aftermarket.
Thank you so much , finally it worked
Glad it helped.

Grazie ancora .
Mate, it should work for your car. This multimedia unit you have from factory in the car will not support wireless CarPlay or android auto.
Playing music from your phone via CarPlay is actually of lossless cd quality audio, unlike bluetooth or standard mp3
Hi for some reason when I go to the program update, the update software button can not be clicked. does the USB have to be empty before copying the files? I have the 17TDT1EU-CA01 model

Nu am idee pentru harti, nu mi am batut capul. Google maps merge offline!
Am incercat vreo 2 diferite si merg. Atata timp cat scrie compatibil cu Toyota.
Bafta!

Hi, thanks for the video - does this work in the US for a 2019 RAV4 hybrid?
Only European made vehicles mate i am afraid. In US the upgrade firmware is the toyota website for free
@@CostelTarata Thanks! To clarify, for the 2019, Toyota released an update which includes Android auto? Thanks again!
Hi, I have the MEU in FA10 and the DCU in DA01, i need to do the procedure like for the models without navigation system ?
Follow the script mate. It should work as others did it. Good luck
What about US models? I have a 2019 with 17TDT1NA-CA02. Toyota's website doesn't have anything newer. There MUST be a way to update this...
I guess only at dealership. I did found however the update from toyota website for NA market. Make sure to check toyota.com
Did you ever find anything about this? Trying to get it on my 2019 camry NA model.
Hi i see you have the 17TDT2EU-DA30 in the list but I've checked mine and its "17TDT2TH-DA30" wil it still work? My hilux 2021 is from thailand
Im afraid only for EU spec cars mate, as the option was not available from factory as in Asia or Americas
Hallo. I'm just watched your video and I think is great, but I have one question: my model ist 17TDT1EU-CA32 do you think it will fit my car?
You can only try and see mate
There are others that make it either same specs as yours!
I cannot unpack the zips for Panasonic. The password is supposedly incorrect for all 3 Zips. Could it be that Toyota has become aware that the files are in circulation?
please review the passwords from the description and try again.
You are the real MVP!
😎🤘
Will this work on Uk 2019 Corolla. It’s Panasonic version the update is cheap to get from Toyota dealer but they say your maps is old you must update to latest maps then we can update to activate car play. Is this true ? The map updates are quite expensive. Thanks
Worked perfectly!
*RAV4 2019 - DCU 17TDT1EU-CA01*
*Before update:*
- Audio: 1141

- navdb_version: A36-4
*After 10 minutes of updating and restarting the engine:*

Tested with USB cable, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto - both work perfectly.
Thank you for sharing!
Happy that it worked mate!!
Great video! I have a 2020 Corolla with only CarPlay and no android auto. I need android auto in my car. The model is: 17TDTONA-EA12 do you know what I can do to get it? Would this version also work of update with mine?
Mate, if the firmware version is listed and your car is compatible, then it should work
I live in Canada will the update be the same for the Toyota RAV4 2019 model in Canada also if is only for European models only.
This is For Eu models only. However I recommend downloading the correct file from Toyota.com, select your model and download from there. In Europe is not for free.
hey! Thank you for posting this. 17TDT2EU-DA02 unit. Updated audio from 1000 to 1020, using 1 usb method, then tried updating using 3 usbs, not working so far (usb not recognized). Any hints on updating the maps first, besides the official way?

Hi there,
Try with cable, nor wifi CarPlay. Also make sure that CarPlay is not restricted from your settings, alongside with Siri.
Make sure to check all these steps if the installation went successfully.
After connecting the cable to the iPhone, it activates the "IPOD" connection in the car and the connection via Bluetooth. Siri is active... I don't know what to do. During the update, there was information - Compatibility with Apple CarPlay

Hi there. I am afraid not. The car unit is not supporting this feature.
I use a third party dongle, sometimes but im not bothered by the wire either.

Try visiting toyota.com mate usually for North American made cars You can simply use a flash drive and download for free from the website The update for the CarPlay and android auto.
Hi Everyone. I have 17TDT2EU-DA01 JBL system with Navi the car is still under warranty (2019 Corolla) so will it works on my model? I can see in the comments that model is listed but confused does anyone already tried with te sat nav? Do I loose the warranty after that modes? What to do if the system will crash how to backed up to original system then.
Thanks for the video!
Hi there. It will most likely work if the model you have is listed within the description.
Now concerning warranty, not sure what to answer. The firmware is open source from the unit manufacturer, not from Toyota and will only update the Audio Firmware and not the car software.
I did it without even thinking, my car went twice to Toyota service and they haven’t even realized I asume as they never told me anything about it.
I guess you are going to have to risk, or wait until warranty goes away.
There are some steps to follow mate
For those of you that had errors or failed updates I added the link to the step by step instructions and missing USB's (1,2,3) in the video description. Check it out and good luck!
