A landscaping job that paid $14/hour was enough for me to decline the offer. Landscaping is physically demanding work, especially in summer heat and for $14/hour I'll just stick to the customer service industry. It's too bad I got chewed out by my employment specialist and made a comment saying that I didn't want to work, even though he claimed it was a joke. It was no joke and unprofessional and I was pretty upset for a while. A landscaping company to pay minimum wage is pretty sketchy and I declined the job offer because of the low pay grade of the profession. If I'm outside in the heat doing physically demanding work, I should make more money plain and simple.

Most of the discussion was one sided, myself of course. It seemed very polite and respectful, they laughed at my jokes and I laughed at theirs. They asked off script questions. 2 Operations Manager, 2 Department heads, the HR Generalist and the GM. I couldn't shake the feeling that The HR lady hated me. i'm so confused , im in the same dilemma and need your opinion. . I got job offer last week for job A and took the position. This week i got an offer for job B which pays more, about $7k more a year. Job A is a hybrid schedule that works 2 days in the the office while Job B is hybrid schedule but have to work 4 days in the office. Job A has better medical insurance benefits than job B. I was working for job B previously for 4 years so i have seniority there if i take that while Job A is a brand new company. With all those factors said, which one would you take, Job A or B ????
That comes down to a few things. I would look at it as time vs money. Job B is paying more but is the 7k worth you having to be in office more, thus taking up more of your personal time (consider commute, etc.) and how important are the benefits for you? For me, I would take the new job for less money and more days wfh with the better benefits. But I have an autoimmune disease so benefits are super important and it would be much easier for me to navigate a schedule where I’m not required to come in office much and deal with my situation outside of work. Like doctors appointments and such. But you just gotta consider where you place your value. Do you value the money and seniority more knowing you have to physically be there morel which ultimately impacts your flexibility. I hope everything works out for you for the best and congrats on your 2 offers!!
@@EclecticElegance13 Your absolutely correct. I took Job B last week. Sometimes, the money is not important when have more time to spend time with your friends and love ones. Most importantly, having a good medical is important now a days. THANKS for your input
QUICK HELP....What is your advice if the CEO himself has emailed encouraging you to accept? Do I send it to just the recruiter or reply all which includes the CEO?
Rejecting a job offer for being overqualified is better than being stuck in a place that doesn’t satisfy you. If they try to strong-arm you into accepting an offer, make sure to record the assault and report it.
Better do something on your own than keep begging for a raise of a penny or two from your employer and having to thank those thugs who want to hire the best employee on minimum wage.

i'm so confused , im in the same dilemma and need your opinion.
@@bj10jgo congrats!! I hope things go well for you there and your career continues to flourish!!

QUICK HELP....What is your advice if the CEO himself has emailed encouraging you to accept? Do I send it to just the recruiter or reply all which includes the CEO?
I would suggest to reply to each person separately.
Rejecting a job offer for being overqualified is better than being stuck in a place that doesn’t satisfy you. If they try to strong-arm you into accepting an offer, make sure to record the assault and report it.
I declined in the interview.. that was awkward
hahaha lol....I did once as well. Hell, OT all the time and no OT pay is that OK ? WTF do you think? haha Sorry but NOT sorry. haha lol....
Better do something on your own than keep begging for a raise of a penny or two from your employer and having to thank those thugs who want to hire the best employee on minimum wage.

Such a graceful landing on the decline!
Instant sub, and sent a LinkedIn request 🙏 Grazie mille
I had to decline one job offer recently, the salary was higher than the one I receive at my company and I know it sounds strange but I'm actually happy in my current job, it's just my first year but I really like what I do
