Lizzy idolizes these 80’s rock gods. Honestly it’s a compliment to her love for him. I don’t know the history of his fall out with the band but she is honoring him if he doesn’t get that. Not replacing him filling in for another singer.
She is great doing Skid Row. She is doing Bach's stuff up right. It sounds great. He should be honored that she is doing it so well. She is singing it as we remember it. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, and she is essentially going a "girl" version of his songs, not a different take on it. Same exact songs, just her singing. I hate it when people throw in their own "new" little twists. No one wants to hear that shit. We want to hear it as we know it and love it.
As far as "replacing" goes... she sounds really good doing it. She is a great fit. I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes permanent.
The history is he is a complete a-hole who got booted for being an utter a-hole to his bandmates.
Lzzy did not join Skid Row. She is filling in for some shows since Eric had to leave for health reasons. What she is doing is awesome. I love skid row with Sabastian. It was awesome. By far the best version of the band. I understand how he feels but if he wants to be back in Skid Row maybe he should try to mend the bridges he burned so long ago. I am a huge Lzzy Hale fan as well and am excited to see her perform with Skid Row.
He has tried, multiple times. It takes two people to reconcile, and they are making it difficult.

I wouldn't turn it down either. Besides what she does or doesn't do is none of Sebastian's business. Also knowing the circumstances? What, that he's been whining to be back in the band for 28 years? Why is that any of her concern or her problem? Him not moving on is a Bach problem. They asked, she accepted end of story. She also did offer at one point and they now just took her up on her offer, but still end of story.

@@seventallguitarist That's a great point that I think a lot of folks are missing. The pre-Lizzy version of Skid Row was "fine", but was only playing in venues less than HALF the size of Halestorm, so I don't see her being a permanent thing in SR.

Ego is a double edged sword...the reason Sebastian was such a great front man is because he had such a strong ego; he went out on stage with extreme confidence and delivered heart felt performances with a group of guys that complimented his abilities. The reason Sebastian is not in Skid Row right now is; those same guys that complimented Sebastian's abilities won't put up with his ego....
IDK, if Guns n Roses can put aside their huge egos and tour together it seems Skid Row to find a way to have him sing with the band.
Sebastian Bach was very honest about his feelings. He wasn't childish about it, just straight forward. He has tried to patch it up with the rest of the guys that made up Skid Row, and they have refused time and again. Skid Row was his dream as well as theirs, and possibly even moreso. Baz is adult enough to mend bridges, but the others are childish enough to hold on to an age old grudge. They hire other singers and it doesn't last. Fans want Skid Row, not 3 members touring with different hired guns.
It's incomprehensible to take the place of an icon who influenced you. I wouldn't want to front the band, I'd want the band back together! I'd rather sing with Baz as a show of respect and honor than try to BE Baz. Integrity would tell me to share the stage with my inspiration, not try to fill in his empty spot at the mic. A spot he's offered to fill in many times.
It's amazing how some people actually become more childish as they get older.
He is undoubtedly immature but I think the regret and pain of what once was is understandable. Went from being on top of the world to fired pretty dang quick and if you know his history with KISS being such a profound part of his life (good and bad - his first concert was his heroes KiSS but also the very last time his family was together as a whole then the fight over opening for KISS and the breakdown of Skid Row) it makes much more sense imo.

Turns out, 10 was the charm. Having seen Lzzy x Skid Row now I can say they haven't sounded this good since Bach's heyday. And haven't looked this enthused for the past decade+. Lzzy is the perfect fit.

Erik Gronwall did a helluva job, whether you want to admit or not.

@@danielfair4675 I saw Skid Row with Gronwall and he's been the best replacement they have had. He idolized Bach, which is why he tries to emulate his vocal style. I think if not for his health, Gronwall would've been with Skid Row for a very long time.
Problem is she's got a great thing going with her own career so she's not going to drop all of that for Skid Row, nor should she.
Those 4 shows ruined whatever career halestorm had. Lol.
Sebastian Bach will always be Skid Row for me. Years ago I thought a reunion would happen but it now seems it never will. Nothing against Lzzy Hale. She’s stepped in and is doing a great job with the songs. Good on her for that.

She has the charisma, prescense and its impressive but considering her great singing abilities, ive seen the shows and even she is not able to hit the high notes on point. I know probably Sebastian neither at his age, but you have to give him credit on why he is one of the greatest singers from our era. On the other side, I would buy a ticket to see Sebastian anyntime and the guys from SKID ROW were smart enough to bring Lzzy into the picture know that Sebastian has released a killer album that would put any Skid Row album into the dumpt. It was a good move since Lzzy is loved by many, including me. I would actually like her to stay since she is the only one that would do justive to the songs and the entire history of the band. I have a page where I have posted videos with Lzzy and most of the comments are against her and everyone wants Sebastian or no one else, according to most of the comments on the thread.

I saw Skid Row play a local bar and it was like watching any other house band because no-one and I mean no-one can replace Sebastian Bach!!

What Sebastian Bach did defined skid row and their sound. If he hadn't of come along nobody would have ever heard those songs. It was his interpretation and delivery that defined their sound and created their brand. I think this is what he's driving at. I will also say Eric Gronwall was very good and as he had big shoes to fill as a performer so does she as his replacement.
All of the songs for Skid Row's debut album were written before Sebastian ever heard of the band. Yes he was a great vocal fit for the band, but the songs were so good they would have found another singer, maybe not as good but they would have had their pick.
Sebastian was singing high in high school before the Skid Row boys found him singing at a wedding reception. They needed each other. But the songs remain long after the singer is gone.

No one doubts the songs are good, but Bach is the only singer who brings them to life. There's no other voice like his, even now when he's not on top of his game but can still bring it.

Sebastian was amazing in his prime and though I haven't listened to his newer stuff, I'm sure he's still great. We all age and I highly doubt he can hit those notes he did 35 years ago. Know who can? Lizzy Hale. This is kind of appropriate to me because I've said on more than one occasion, Lizzy is the female version of Sebastian, vocally speaking. Can't wait to hear her on "Livin' on a Chain Gang" and "Quicksand Jesus" among others.

Skid row with another singer sounds like Kareoke. It's not the singer's fault. It's just Sebastian was THAT good, and THAT unique. No one sounds like him, no one ever will. His style made Skid Row original versions iconic.
Key word is "was good". Now not so much. Lizzy is better than him right now. Most of these rock singers from the 70s 80s are trash now from years of not taking care of themselves. Bach is another statistic

in my 50's grow up with these guys , i may not have always agreed with Sebastian Bach with personal stuff , but Sebastian has always has my total respect and loyality as he is one fine a** musican , in my humble opinion no one can replace him
Lzzy is just filling in for the tour. She's great at what she does. Erik was amazing, but he got cancer & had to leave, which totally sucks. So wtf is Lzzy gonna do? Just sit around? No! She's gonna help them finish the tour. Sebastian Bach is obviously very hurt by this & clearly wants to reconnect with his old bandmates, but they refuse. This conflict was inevitable. And it's all surrounded by Bach's reaction. Nothing else.

Your right most of the time the voice is the band. When it goes so does the band. Alot of musicians are replaceable to some extent. Very few exceptions does a replacement lead singer work for many reasons. I guess it really depends on what band we are talking about cause the stage presence is also important and major signature guitar sounds. There time has definitely passed. I dont blame them to make a living and keep on playing but the big acts got more leeway. Skid road didnt last long enough to put out a impactful discography. 2 to 3 Great albums dont make a Judas Priest .

I just went and saw Sebastian a few nights ago. It was awesome. He sounded great imo and I love his new album. So I guess I’m team Baz!

After Sebastian Skid Row had a lot of singers that I'm not happy with. Erik Grönwall is the only one that could fill the shoes of Sebastian.
Going with Lzzy Hale might work but it's definitely one or two steps down from Erik.
And her joining Skid Row is a step down from fronting Halestorm. She's doing them a favor while also living out a slight dream of doing shows with her heroes. Nothing more. Nothing less. Really nothing to see here other than her doing a handful of shows with them. Not sure what all of the fuss is about.

Ahhhhhh now we’re replacing the originals with the copies….solid. Let’s just call it out, no more original than a semi-pro karaoke singer. Being a net-bot does not equate to actually starting a band, practicing endlessly, touring endlessly, doing media radio/print interviews, magazine shoots, partying your balls off every night….this is what made the nexus of a band like Skid Row and a singer like Sebastian Bach ROCK TOGETHER. What we have here with LZZY is nothing more than admirable imitation.

Skid Row played at a club called CLOSE ENCOUNTERS, where I worked in the 80's, before Sebastian replaced their lead singer....and to be honest, they weren't all that good back in the day.

It always amuses me how people seem to not have anything better to do, to the point where they have to track which celebrity is following who.
I love Skid Row, but after seeing the latest live performances of Skid Row with Lzzy Hale, compared to Bach's recent live performances, I would rather pay to see Skid Row with Lzzy all day long.
People spend way too much time following/unfollowing people on social media. If i see it on Google or TH-cam and it looks interesting i ll read it. It comes to me i don't go to it. Lizzy is a great singer) leader of Halestorm 🤘🤘
I, like most ppl think Skid Row is just some other band without Bach, but I think out of everyone they've had, she fits the best and I absolutely love that she's first and foremost a fan and she's not going to want to disappoint anyone because of that. I'm sure she's aware what most of us fans think, but I think anyone in her shoes would have a hard time turning down a gig with a band they grew up looking up to. If I got the chance to play drums in any of my favorite bands, I'd take it without question and worry about whose toes I was potentially stepping on later.
Lzzy is great and has performed with Skidrow AND Sebastiaan Bach both years ago..Lzzy will bring a new audience to Skidrow a younger generation that follows Halestorm, but she is temporary, and I think Baz feels a bit betrayed because there has been many talks about him wanting to perform with Skidrow again...I think Skidrow should bury the hatchet and bring Baz back after these few shows are done...and stop trying to find another person to imitate him because most people are going because of the Baz era music.
Sebastian is skid row and he was the best signing
Sebastian Bach got kicked out of the band for being the crazy rock star that he is. I don't care about his ego or what he did, nobody can replace him. He had that IT essence that catapulted Skid Row into fame and everybody after him is just playing karaoke.
He absolutely helped make Skid Rowe into an amazing band. He also still has pipes and great music of his own. Lizzy Hale is a good choice now in 2024. She also has chops.
Lzzy is amazing and probably the only one (of the replacements) who can hit Sebastian’s notes. Sebastian is Skid Row… period. Lzzy is Halestorm (in my eyes). Colabs are fun and I think this will be a great one.

This is why Skid Row keeps getting new singers, they made the best music with Sabastian, but after 28 years the bad blood is still there.
Sabastian should reach out through his management with an offer to do a residency in Vegas for a couple months. That would allow them to play shows without being stuck on tour together, just being together on stage might help the band heal enough to move forward.

If he has a beef with the rest of Skid Row, I understand. But she's only filling in for a few shows. She's honoring the band, which is awesome. Give her a break.

Well first off why would they pic a female to sing anyways skid row is an all male band.I don't blame Sebastian the band sucks without him. I don't think Lzzy should have even been chose to do it.
Availability. Needed someone who could do it on set dates as a one-off. That immediately cuts out most singers across all genres. Further narrowing it down to someone who could actually do a decent job of it limits it even further.
Lizzy is doing a good job, but I understand how Sebastian feels. And skid row has never been skid row without him.
It has to be hard for him - Lizzy SLAYED all those songs . They have not sounded that good live in decades. She has grown up with those songs , and it was indeed impressive, The band is not going to reunite woth him . He's dug his own grave here .

He’s mad they don’t want to deal with him and pulled a teenager move and unfollowed her. He was good in skid row but never grew up and I’m guessing that one of the main reasons they don’t want to deal with him.
I see both sides. Fact is he was crazy and caused the band lots of problems which is why they fired him. He's a great singer and I think he's cooled out a lot but life goes on. Lzzy has done a fantastic job and there's no reason for her to turn down doing it if that's what her and the band wants.
At this point I dont care what Bach says or what Skid Row does, both are doing well enough on their own

She's doing a phenomenal job fronting Skid Row. I really hope I get to catch them live because I can't remember the last time they sounded this good. As a big fan this is pretty exciting.
And when I read the comments under the videos I think it's pretty much the opinion across the board.

Lzzy has nothing negative to say about Sebastian, she has done nothing but respect him, he needs to get over it. I love Sebastian as a frontman and singer but being bitter about something like this is childish and unfair to Lzzy or any other singer they choose, he needs to enjoy the moment he's in.
I never gave skid row a second thought. I enjoyed their radio songs but that is as far as it went. Now that are all over my TH-cam feed. Lzzy is doing good with the band, but the vids on TH-cam are low quality. She sounds better doing Halestorm songs IMO.
Listen to the recordings & quit complaining about very minimal issues in general. Is he jealous? GET OVER IT! You know Lzzy will do a fantastic job & not screw up the chance to work with her idols. I call his comments a publicity stunt, I could be wrong but I'm confident in my opinion.
I do not agree with Bach's Arrogance but for one of the few times I have to agree with him. After all he did come up with the name even before Jon Bon Jovi discovered them .
I grew up listening to Skid Row too but I think if I was a musician I'd have some respect for the ones that "raised me". This is another example of a group that sucks without their original singers. I don't have anything for the Queensryche with Todd Latore just as I have nothing for Skid Row without Sebastian, for me it's pure respect for the singers that shape your life. Not only do they have a legacy but it's part of your legacy too so I support Sebastian Bach just as I support Geoff Tate.....THEY ARE SKID ROW AND QUEENSRYCHE. I also can't say I am a fan of Halestorm or Lizzy Hale for that matter, liking a song or two doesn't purchase the record nor does it scream fan. #SebastianBachIsSkidRow

Sebastian Bach set the foundation for Skid Row. Nobody comes close to what SB did for Skid Row, not even Lzzy Hale.

I sympathise with Seb, he did the three best Skid Row albums, the replacements have all been excellent but without Seb, Skid Row would probably have been at best unheard of outside of the US, possibly not even Jersey.
