I began my Basic Training at Fort Dix back in March 1980. B-1-3. 1st Platoon - Squad Leader due to my MCJROTC in High School. Graduated in May 1980. Enlisted in DEP on June 14, 1979. I was a Recruiters Aid until I shipped out in March 1980. Went in as an E-2. My AIT was in Fort Lee Virginia. MOS 76P. Respects, Props, and Congratulations to you Kathy for Military Accomplishments! 10 USC 505: Regular components: qualifications, term, grade (a) The Secretary concerned may accept original enlistments in the Regular Army, Regular Navy, Regular Air Force, Regular Marine Corps, Regular Space Force, or Regular Coast Guard, as the case may be, of qualified, effective, and able-bodied persons who are not less than seventeen years of age nor more than forty-two years of age. However, no person under eighteen years of age may be originally enlisted without the written consent of his parent or guardian, if he has a parent or guardian entitled to his custody and control.
Went through coed basic at Dix November/December 1978. Sleeping in a tent out in the woods, sick, freezing...miserable experience. Karen Williams, Debra Lovelace, Wendy Fanin...where are you gals now? Hope all are well.

Charlie 2-3 April 1983 at 16 years old with parents signature. The best thing I've ever done.

I used to say ft dix was the asshole of the world until I went to Egypt in 85 and the gulf war in 90 to 91.
