    I'd like a vacuum with the best features of this vacuum combined with the best features of the Qrevo slim. The biggest drawback is the price, as where I live flagship units cost $2000-$3000.
    I'd still like a few extra features & think the industry needs another two or three years. However I realise the latest vacuums are a thousand times better than my ancient 10 year old LG RoboKing.
    Who knows in the future they may incorporate drones into the base station so the vacuum can navigate stairs & clean windows! 🤣

    Jamie, I have the S8maxV Ultra and like it, it have mostly hard floors. I have wondered if the spinning mop heads has ever been compared to the vibrating type for best mopping results? I’d love to see a video on that.

      I have the s8 maxv and it is definitely not that good at mopping. The s8 maxv only has 6N of pressure while the Narwal has 12N and i am almost sure that a spinning mop is better than vibration. I think Roborock chose vibration to get the class leading 20mm of mop rise.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      If you compare Qrevo spinning to the Vibrarise on the S models there is not much noticeable difference. The Narwal is better not because of the type of pads, but because it can put down more water due to the thickness of the pads and more downforce.

  • @seanl8930
    @seanl8930 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Simply the best Jamie. Always on top of things. I keep wondering why though that these companies are just increasing the suction power little by little. If they already invented super strong vacuum motors whats stopping them from as of today building a robot vac with 30,000 pascals of suction now? Makes me feel like waiting until they sell a product worth buying where it can truly get 100%. I am curioud though what robot vacuum you think is best on cleaning up carpets

    • @jamie.andrews

      I am not positive why they do this. I do wish they would add one as there is no benefit to not having one except space. Ecovacs has done it before and I am not a fan. One other potentially large drawback is if you have delicate hardwood floors this robot puts down a bunch of water that could potentially cause you some concern. On the other hand if you have tile you need a bunch of water.

      @jamie.andrews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Patrickkkkkkk356 There are 3 main drawback to not having a water tank on the robot. 1. Because the pads will dry up they tend to leave to dock with pads that are much more wet which may cause concern for people with delicate wood floors. 2. Since it is not applying water constantly to the pads, the pads will dry up faster leading to uneven water distribution and requiring it to go back to the dock more frequently. This means the dock will go through more water. 3. For people with multifloor homes this is less than ideal since they will have to carry it up and down the stairs more often to keep the pads wet.

      @@zzbxdo The Narwal should be a good fit for you then based on everything you have said. The other option is the Dreame X40 Ultra. You can buy the Tri-cut brush for that model and it resists hair tangles.

    I already have the Freo X Ultra, I wonder if it's worth getting the Z Ultra as well. I don't need the obstacle avoidance and I don't have any pets, I also don't have any carpets, just hard floors.

      I have not test the Eureka models yet. Both the Narwal and Curv are good robots however to answer you question about suction I would lean towards the Curv. For mopping the Narwal is a good bit better with cleaning performance, however lacking an onboard water tank might be a drawback for some.

    I am 83 year old female. would this be too much for me to handle? also how is water hooked up. How long would it take to clean 900 sq ft. How much electricity does it use. If you do not handle these questions can you recommend someone for me.

    • @jamie.andrews
      @jamie.andrews  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, without knowing you it would be impossible for me to know if you can handle it. My 86 year old mother could not pickup full water tanks and the technology has surpassed her understanding.
      As for the plumbing hookup, you should likely hire
      a plumber. 900 square feet would depend on several factors. If vacuuming only it will likely be over an hour, but if you add mopping into the mix it will depend on how often it has to go back to the dock to wash the mopping pads which can be controlled by you in the app.
      I put some electrical figures in the video, however it entirely depends on how much it is used since it doesn't use very much if not used.

      I feel the same. I just had a Roborock S7 which I’ve had for 2 years and 11 month just die on me. I like the fact that if I’m paying 1000+ that the unit is warrantied for three years. I’m really leaning towards this or the S1 Pro. The Q revo curve is nice but expensive and only a year warranty scares me.

It also does not “power up” on rugs even though I have all config settings set to do so. It does clean very well on my tile and hardwood. Roborock app/software seems so much less buggy.
