First thing I thought of when I noticed Paul forgot to insert the Patrons list, “yep, that’s the kind of mistake you make when you’re a tired new dad”. It’s all good, we would support you with or without getting our names listed. Get some sleep.
Or cats. I cleaned up all of their toys this morning. By this even, the Narwal had to navigate around 5 of their toys that they pulled out of the box. Good news is, that it did see and avoid them. I also had to redo the map because the first time one of my cats followed it everywhere and got it confused about where the walls were. 2nd time I locked her up and it did as close to perfect as I could expect. I moved a couple of walls, but that was only important if I want to direct it to just clean one or two rooms. Whole house was accurate.
"it recognizes a turd!" I think a secondary study is needed to confirm these findings. If boris johnson lays on the floor and the vacuum goes around him, then it's 100% accuracy.
I was really impressed until I looked up the price for the cleaning solution refill: 100 euro for HALF a liter!! No way, this is plain robbery, inkjet-ink style.
@@paulhibbert Does look like it has the option. One image on the product page mentions it, says it’s available on the website. Couldn’t find it, but that’s probably on me. It does look to be a thing though. So I may be going with this over the SwitchBot S10 this Christmas. The world has a few more months to wow me before I make my final decision, but this is in the lead.
@@paulhibbert Looks like it'll be available as a separate purchase - "[10] The auto water exchange system is sold separately at Narwal Official Website."
This! Because I live with too many animals and I'm basically emptying/refilling buckets daily, so it's just faster for me to do it the "old fashion" way 😒
My biggest problem, is our ridiculous door steps between rooms. They said that the Roborock would be albe to climb them, but NOOOOO! So how does this one fare with large door steps?
The Roborock Qrevo Curv is the best you can get currently, it can climb up to 4cm, does edge cleaning using the side brush and the mop extension , it is the real strongest vacuum robot and has 18500 pascal suction. The new anti hair tangle brush design also prevents hairs from tangling.
Not gonna lie it looks unreal!! How much though? I can only find their earlier models and they are inferior to the Narwal and with a much higher price tag 😞
Looks cool but I think you could have gone into more detail about the results of how well it cleaned, as it looked like it was missing getting right to the edge and not getting into the corners. I would like to see more testing to show it achieving this.
I feel like it won't be long before it can recognize cords in the right configuration and deploy a spatula/cord lifter/cow catcher-like device to lift them, vacuum, and set them back down.
yeah sure, but you know what us “Home Assistant Types” are like. I want to automate it to start when I’m exactly 9.99 m from my front door. “Bespoke Configuarion.yaml files!!”
Really excellent episode. Excellent product (although a tad pricey) and excellent video and comedy bits. Those Star Trek episodes fit beautifully. So, of course Roborock must be having serious board meetings right now. It's great to see multiple companies taking this industry seriously and giving the true competition for the consumer. These things were dumb for far too long. Meanwhile I'm thinking of strapping some mittons to my existing Narwal. Also, why stop at the baseboard.. I hope these things soon have robot arms that will extend to dust the bottom 2 ft of my house.
My Narwal is trying to kill me I swear. It started chomping audibly on a cable one day and when I rushed out of the bedroom to catch it, it had just finished cleaning outside the door and had left a nice soapy wet patch on which I slipped and came down really hard on my tile floors. 🤣🤣
Looks great. I bought a Dreamtech this year - mostly happy with it. However, it is not the best at avoiding cables. A dog chew was on the floor that looked like turd. It ran over it with glee. My puppy isn't pooing around the house, but it could happen. Maybe in a few years I will be wanting to upgrade the Dreamtech for something like the Narwall Freo Z Ultra (or better)...I kept my Roomba. It was good at avoiding cables and probably turds (not tested personally).
What about those cleaning cartridges though? Can they be refilled? What happens if they stop selling them. Unfortunate choice on what otherwise seems like a fantastic device. Not that I can get it in the uk of course.
Excellet review as always Mr. Hibbert! Now i just have to be patient for it to be released in Denmark :D A few comments to the video: - Whats up with the two layers of yellow text on top of each other? - When you're unboxing and in general wide view angle in your new office, there is a lot of background noise compared to the rest. I suppose it's the wider stage microphone? - Love the Star Trek stuff editing! :D
The double layered text just looks cooler than the single layer text 😂 It’s frustrating that the DJI wireless mics don’t play nice with my Sony camera. Wondering if I need to swap the cable, I record straight to the camera when doing the talking head shots using a cable linked to my podcast mic and there’s no noise by comparison The Star Trek bits are my favourite thing 😁
@@paulhibbert Ooh wee starstack by the response! By a lot (background noise) i properly more mean " *SOME* compared to talking heads". Keep up being awesome, love your stuff👌
UK Viewers: Get the Dreame X40 Ultra, does exactly the same here, AI, reaches corners, works with home assistant, Alexa and more. Best part is, it sends to the UK too. Also has 12,000PA too
Hi! Can you make a follow up now that you've had it for a few weeks? Also - I've read some reviews claiming that it has a hard time getting back to the omni station with the "mittens" on 😅 have you seen that? Also, people say it's quite thirsty, do you have to refill the water as often as some people say? 1-3 times during a full house clean?
It’s a very cool robovac, but the lack of an auto-empty bin system is a deal breaker for us. Our two Labradors shed all year round, and our current robot vac fills the auto-empty docks dustbag in 3 weeks! I really do want the mopping ability of the narwal tho, it looks amazing!
Order it because of your review! Very excited to see it in real life action😊 Only thing now is i can not find replacement parts or detergent! Even on there website not. Do you think/know if bona cleaning solution will damage the home base or robot?
@GITSSAC today i got the replacement parts and detergent. Only the filter sponge in the water base is not availble yet.... also the water change system is not availble
@@GITSSAC yes i really like it. For years i got the roomba 980 and braava m6 and the last one is more a gimmick then actual cleaning. The narwal is really cleaning everything. On the first weeks he used a lot of water. First few runs he cleaned the floor 4 or 5 times in a run. It seems the ai told us that the floor was dirty because the old one did not so good job. So on first i thought the sensors where broken but now the cleaning is on level it only use 1 or 2 runs. The only thing what is different is the roomba 980 (what was and still is a killer vacuum) have a little bit better suction. And the narwall is a little bit higher so in the kitchen it cant pass under te cabinet. I also try the new roomba j9 combo but that thing was horrible.
love the little attachment to the side, tough could probably be a bit larger. Wonder if their next iteration will be that roller mob thing that seems to be introduced by other manufactures. Rather than buy one now, it kind of feels like now is the best time to actually wait and see with all these inovations coming to robot vacuums as well as hopefully lower prices or cheaper models having these features. Time will tell.
I don’t think the rollermops are as effective, but it would be interesting to do some side by side tests, they definitely don’t reach as far into the corners. I’d like to see a vac that did both!
@@paulhibbert Yea that's my main gripe with them as well other than the price in general of these top tier robots. Which is the main reason i feel like waiting at this point is better. Companies are make a lot of changes, seemingly figuring out what works best. Though I don't think the spinning mops is the way to go (yet) either, then again most people wash their floors with the same dirty mop bucket haha. Does the dirt detection stuff make it go back to the dock if it encounters a particular dirty patch and therefore cleans it with a fresh mop and 2nd or 3rd time?
@@Taliseth not sure the answer to that one dude. I haven’t noticed it do so. It does have something called dirt sense technology, so worth looking into
I am definitely wanting them to take my money..... @paulhibbert any chance you want to use one of you many other robot vacs you have and take my money for the one you have and buy two when they hit these shores? #AskingForAFriend 😂
Just got my Narwal and this thing is such a massive step up from my irobot 7+. So silent I can run while I am watching tv and it only produces a very faint hum. Also it's the first time my floor has been mopped since I moved in,(yeah I'm lazy) and those old marks are cleaned up. Only one day, but I am very pleased so far and I highly recommend if anyone is looking for an upgrade. My only minor complaint is that it does not get under my couch, it can fit but refuses, beds are fine though.
I don’t have pets… or hair. However, I have seen a demo they filmed at CES showing big clumps of hair being pushed into the roller whilst it was working, and they have this really cool roller brush design that spins the hair into a void on the left side that then sucks it down. I’ve not seen it before on any other vacuum!
Thanks for another great review, it fails my "no dust bag" requirement sadly but one day hopefully someone will do that with the great features. Nit picking but recognising dirt and getting it isn't really AI that's just a good algorithm (sadly AI is so much of a marketing term now that nearly no one knows what AI is anymore 😢)
Noone will ever be able to say "has mittens" without sending me into PTSD style flashbacks to the 2004 Ebay UK Christmas Treasure Hunt. I may never recover.
Really need to test how much these things can climb between different floor levels. I personally cant justify spending around a grand on something that wont climb the gap between tiled floor and carpet
This is a very nice presentation as always. I just wanted to ask you if it is enough 12mm for this robot in order not to get dirty carpets? My living room has hard floor-carpet-hard floor, meaning that the robot has to pas the carpet area in order to mop the second hard floor area. Can this robot pass with safety from a hard floor area to another hard floor area without getting the carpet dirty ? Is there a trick maybe? Lastly i wanna ask you if it is also efficient refgarding mopping rollers. Doesnt it move the dirt to nearby space like most double rollers? Is it equivelant for example to Eufy S1 pro? Thanks a lot
According to the website, it uses hot air to dry the mop, and there is an optional (more $$$) water exchange hookup for both fresh water filling and waste discharge.
@@paulhibbert I have another issue, she has seen your vid and wants one. UK upcoming means there's a tribal dance happening in my home. Was yours a US one with a transformer? Will we miss out on early bird? Can you get them to at least open a UK waiting list. Help me hibbert wan sockie. I can't live with her manifesting the dark side of the force. How can I calm her?
Yeah, I was sent a US one, just swapped their US kettle lead for a UK kettle lead. Your wife’s tribal dancing will continue until they release it over here or you look into a shipping company unfortunately 😖
I have gotten the early bird deal ($500 coupon for $69 - Canada). Only thing you didn't mention, is if it cleans the floors thoroughly? Does it leave water spots or streaks? This is important, especially with dark floors. My present robot leaves streaks and I have to go back once in a while to hand clean the floors...
No idea yet, hoping I can fill it back up with something else at some point. I suppose worst case scenario you could just put some robovac safe detergent in the clean water bucket
@@paulhibberthave you tried seeing if it is possible to refill it yet pls. I can just about stomach having to buy their expensive bags but not sure about bespoke cleaning fluid as well!
@@petebanham3742 I don’t wanna pull it out until it’s empty, what J will say though is worst case scenario you would just add the cleaning fluid to the clean water bucket
Don't feel bad, friends across the pond. We cannot buy it here in the US yet either. We can only sign up for the early bird offer that starts on Sept 14th. I'll buy and ship one to you for a small convenience fee of one meeellion dollars (said in my best Dr. Evil voice). 🤣😂🤣😂😜😜
Paul, I was just wondering about your thoughts on the Aqara doorbell (G4) going into the cloud, as we used to get motion detection and face recognition saved locally to an SD card. Now, there is a long story about using the cloud. This is a big no for me as I like Security local recording and I am considering returning this if it does not change. Do you have any influence on this?
Thanks for the great review. I'll be getting one as soon as the UK link goes up, if it works with Home Assistant. Any ideas if it does or if there's a local API so it will at some point?
There's apparently no local API, no Home Assistant integration, and their support team said there were no plans for this. So a closed system where if their app doesn't do everything you need there's no option to do anything more. @paulhibbert I wonder if you can use it without a working internet connection?
Oh, not yet available in the UK. Just went looking on a, “take my money” vibe. I am interested to know how often accessories will need changing and how much those will cost. And to what extent they’ll be readily available. I have three Neatos (one at home, one at work, and one at my parents’) and Neato have gone so, while they work fine now, they’re not going to last too much longer. How strong of a company is this one?
Great vid as always paul. I’m trying to persuade my wife that we need a robot VAC and mop cleaner but what looks like going to be over thousand pounds I stand no chance
@paul, any idea when the UK release will be? I got the roborock vmax s7 ultra based on your review a couple of years ago but it is struggling now. Thanks for all your hard work.
Looks like an _optional_ extra, so more £££. It also seems to show lines for both fresh and waste in the image, so you'd never have to empty it either. Refill detergent, and replace base station dust bag.
Hi Paul, great videos! I have 1 question when it comes to smart robot vacuum cleaners. How do they deal with mirrors? I have a mirrored cabinet door that goes all the way to the floor and when my Ecovacs vacuum drives past it thinks there is a completely new room and ruins the entire map... Of course I am not allowed to cover the mirror with tape but Ecovacs has no other solution. Now the question is; is the AI of Narwall that smart it could recognizes mirrors as well? Could you test that, or maybe in the next vacum review? (None of the reviewers does it..). Thanks!
Great. So theres an early bird discount for USA and Canada but its not even available to order in the UK let alone at the discount you suggested 😞 Just assumed as a UK based reviewer that when you posted the review it would be available in the UK too!
Have their previous models been available to buy in the UK or are we hoping for a first with this??? I bought a Eufy X10P Pro Omni back in May for a little over £500 at launch and it can pretty much do all this apart from the duster (which is a great idea). Even now the Eufy is cheaper than this. A comparison would be great, especially if the Narwal isn’t or won’t be available. Eufy available on Amazon now.
To be fair, I did talk about it getting into the edges and corners. Battery life it can do my downstairs nearly 4 times on a single charge on normal mode. If I put it on separate vacuum and mop and set it to do both twice then it has to have a rest. Maintenance wise, it pretty much looks after itself. Needs replacement dust bags and you have to change the water. 😊. I guess once a year you ought to maybe see if you can get a toothbrush int here somewhere, I'll let you know in about 12 months 😂
Why the hell do I watch vids on robovacs? I live in a 2 up, 2 down which takes me about 15 mins to vacuum it all and mop downstairs and I've got a dog who I am absolutely certain would attack it and try to eat it and make babies with it... But it is a great vid! 👍
I'm waiting for the Black Friday offers to buy the Eufy S1 Pro. Vertical mopping seems to be the best solution to avoid mop marks on my dark floor. People who have made test videos. Don't talk about it and it could be great to check who is the best mopping by adding this criteria
I really want to buy this but I hear that it doesn't do well with open concept homes or too large of homes.. and that the app sucks plus like someone commented do you have to buy the specific solution where you should be able to use your own solution that you prefer
That's not gonna happen this time I'm afraid dude, the Roborocks are £500 more than this thing minimum and do less stuff. This is already majorly underpriced, if anything this IS the knock off version price, but for superior quality
You've sold me, i never wanted one before this video, dam ypu Paul! But its not all bad as they are Not available here in Australia yet... saved me yay.... . . . You're going to tell me they are coming soon, aren't you.... WHHHHYYYYYY!?!?!
🤣 I hope they do. Honestly, everyone should have one of these. It's rare I'm telling my friends about soemthing I'm reviewing, but I've been giddy over this one
You should definitely try the Dreame x40 ultra finally available in the UK… the AI and obstacle avoidance is very good. Truly recognises everything you put in its way.. especially if you have pets.. you even have option to set pee pads and it will learn what they look like and avoid them completely so not even that you need to lift up when cleaning anymore
Did you happen to test how it handles pet hair/long hair? Roborock has been the best at dealing with pet hair thus far. Curious to know how this handles it.
Is it compatible with... HOME ASSSISTANT?! *HIP THRUST* Seriously though, this thing is cool AF. (Waiting to finish the video before commenting: since it's compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa integration with Home Assistant is doable with some work). I'm tempted. I don't... need something this strong for my use case... but you sold me Paul. Get hacked tosser.
My studio has two star trek images in the background. One is a TH-cam video playing the LCARS panel and you can find that in TH-cam by searching for LCARS The other is my desktop wallpaper and it's the painting from Picard ready room. I found it on a reddit thread just by googling for "TNG Picard ready room painting"
This looks like a good unit, but my Dreame LS20 Ultra that I’ve had for about a year (cost £900 with a large accessory pack included) does all of this bar the fluffy pad to dust the skirting boards. The LS20 had the most pascals at the time but not 12k, but it also has a feature where one of the mops swings out too. Am I right in thinking I haven’t my seen Paul Hubert review Dreame robot vacs? Enjoyed the video though.
@GITSSAC I have 2 x40 ultras now. Didn't here back about this one but based on other reviews, I think Dreame is better in my opinion. Dreame is releasing a new model coming up called the x50 which will have more features. So keep that in mind before you buy. But I'm happy with my x40s for now. Might add the x50 when it comes out to start phasing out my roombas. Yes I have a lot of robot vacuums 😎 Hope that helps. Cheers
@GITSSAC I don't like how the side brush doesn't spin when it's on carpet. But there's ways around that if you set up areas as having carpet and in a setting set it to ignore. You just have to be careful that when you have it do those areas that you make sure in the schedule you have the settings to vacuum only. My other complaint would be that disassembly is not as good as iRobot. So deep cleaning can be tricky. And they actually have a sticker over one of the screws that if you take it off at voids the warranty. So even then you can only do so much unless you're willing to avoid the warranty. The last thing would be the price. It is quite expensive even for a flagship model. But I wanted the best so I looked for any discounts I could get and went for it. They do have codes if you look hard enough you can get a decent amount off. Based on what I've seen with other robots, I still consider this to be the best. Other than that I can't really think of anything else. I did tell support that they should try and mimic what I robot does with a more modular assembly so that way parts are easier to replace when needed. Let me know if there is anything else I can help with. Ttyl

your're forgiven.
Thanks dude!! 😂
@@paulhibbert Because of your mistake you need to send us all a floor cleaner as compensation or at least a Tribble to clean the floor with 🤣
@paulhibbert Have She who shall not be named, remind you to add your Patreons to your videos. :)
Its good having them here coz now we can actually read them and not just be wowed.
First thing I thought of when I noticed Paul forgot to insert the Patrons list, “yep, that’s the kind of mistake you make when you’re a tired new dad”. It’s all good, we would support you with or without getting our names listed. Get some sleep.
UK: Coming Soon is a kick in the Pascals. Happy Sunday Paul.
UK still coming soon I see. What’s the deal with how to order in the UK/
Obstacle avoidance looks impressive. When you have small kids (and as a result of that toys everywhere) that´s an important feature.
Mittens and Tribbles in one episode? It’s so fluffy! I’m happy.
"it recognizes a turd!"
I think a secondary study is needed to confirm these findings.
If boris johnson lays on the floor and the vacuum goes around him, then it's 100% accuracy.
I'm not touching that with a 10 foot barge pole... Not your comment... Boris Johnson
@@paulhibbert lol 😁
I was really impressed until I looked up the price for the cleaning solution refill: 100 euro for HALF a liter!! No way, this is plain robbery, inkjet-ink style.
The AI looks amazing. Only thing I wish it had was a waterline hookup option so I don’t have to fill/empty buckets.
Just double check on the website that it doesn't have this already because the previous model did!
Roboramp ... a business opportunity waiting to happen.
Just a few hours after I asked you what was the best one: the Narwal Freo X Ultra or the Switchbot S10, you post this! Signed up and currently waiting
I think its obstacle avoidance is still inferior and QRevos are known to eat cables
Yeah I don't think I could buy one without a side mope extension. Spinning/roller mop is mandatory to me now.
Not gonna lie it looks unreal!! How much though? I can only find their earlier models and they are inferior to the Narwal and with a much higher price tag 😞
none of that matters if it cant avoid items so it will get stuck a lot
Probablybat least $1000 more than the freo z ultra
Put it in a cage with one of your favourite robovacs, scatter skittles and confetti in there and let the battle begin 😂
Best review so far, you showed the edge cleaning while others don't.👍👍
Looks cool but I think you could have gone into more detail about the results of how well it cleaned, as it looked like it was missing getting right to the edge and not getting into the corners. I would like to see more testing to show it achieving this.
it doesn't extend all all so probably not
I feel like it won't be long before it can recognize cords in the right configuration and deploy a spatula/cord lifter/cow catcher-like device to lift them, vacuum, and set them back down.
That is the coolest thing I have ever heard 🤣
Even better, something (i.e. a sucker/pusher rod) to open and close doors, so it can clean behind the open door.
@@stephen-boddy Then it would be a Dalek & we all know how that goes.....!!
THE MASTER BAIT JOKE FINALLY CAME BACK OMGGGGG 😮
Looks great, just needs a Home Assistant integration.
Aye, I would use the Alexa workaround to get it into HA, but the inbuilt schedule has been everything I need so far
yeah sure, but you know what us “Home Assistant Types” are like. I want to automate it to start when I’m exactly 9.99 m from my front door. “Bespoke Configuarion.yaml files!!”
@@PetrusB83 and if you could completely disconnect it from the Internet. Other vacs just crap the bed when you try that.
Your video is so great! How does the mopping compare to Eufy s1 pro ?
Happy days, looks amazing. Can’t wait until it gets to UK.
This looks amazing and I want one. Present one is still working, but with far less tricks and it still eats cables and shoe laces!
Weird, I have a dreametech and it's very good at recognizing cables and avoiding them.
Wicked bit of kit. Pity it's not available in the UK yet...
What about those cleaning cartridges though? Can they be refilled? What happens if they stop selling them. Unfortunate choice on what otherwise seems like a fantastic device.
Not that I can get it in the uk of course.
yeah, this could have been a nice elephant
I got one from Amazon Germany shipped to UK
Excellet review as always Mr. Hibbert!
Now i just have to be patient for it to be released in Denmark :D
A few comments to the video:
- Whats up with the two layers of yellow text on top of each other?
- When you're unboxing and in general wide view angle in your new office, there is a lot of background noise compared to the rest. I suppose it's the wider stage microphone?
- Love the Star Trek stuff editing! :D
The double layered text just looks cooler than the single layer text 😂
It’s frustrating that the DJI wireless mics don’t play nice with my Sony camera. Wondering if I need to swap the cable, I record straight to the camera when doing the talking head shots using a cable linked to my podcast mic and there’s no noise by comparison
The Star Trek bits are my favourite thing 😁
@@paulhibbert Ooh wee starstack by the response!
By a lot (background noise) i properly more mean " *SOME* compared to talking heads".
Keep up being awesome, love your stuff👌
UK Viewers:
Get the Dreame X40 Ultra, does exactly the same here, AI, reaches corners, works with home assistant, Alexa and more.
Best part is, it sends to the UK too.
Also has 12,000PA too
It's 600$ more
Did it go on the black carpet?
Any date when coming to uk or ireland. Thanks.
I need to upgrade our iRobot vacuums and mops. I think this is definitely a contender
Enjoyed the video. Are you going to do a follow up on carpets? I can’t see a price as yet any thoughts on its costs?
Happy Saturday Paul. Thanks
Hope they include the UK on launch day.
It does auto empty into a replaceable dust bag! 😊
@@paulhibbert oh, I thought it compressed everything into an onboard bag?
@@paulhibbert you never mentioned that in the video then!
@@MikeCarter I thought it was pretty clear when I showed the spare bag and then opened the dock to show where it goes 🤣
Order it because of your review! Very excited to see it in real life action😊
Only thing now is i can not find replacement parts or detergent! Even on there website not.
Do you think/know if bona cleaning solution will damage the home base or robot?
Did you the up getting it?
@GITSSAC today i got the replacement parts and detergent. Only the filter sponge in the water base is not availble yet.... also the water change system is not availble
@@Patrickkkkkkk356 do you recommend the freo z ultra? Is there anything you don't like about it?
That’s amazing, what a bit of kit. It’s a Star Trek robovac.
Best vacuum I've ever featured by miles. I am absolutely in love with it. It runs daily at 18:00 and hasn't failed me yet!
Most Star Trek vessels have carpets. If you look closely in TNG you will see a Narwal in the corner of the Bridge.😊
love the little attachment to the side, tough could probably be a bit larger.
It does have something called dirt sense technology, so worth looking into
It’s down the back of the sofa, in case you can’t find it 😂 1:24
I am not kidding when I say this... Thank you! I had forgotten about it entirely!
Sharp!
UK 'COMING SOON'. Poor show. Happy Hibbert Day
I know right! Gutted! Hope they get it here soon!
So how did you buy one with your own money if they are not in the UK yet?
@@MR.MACH1NE I think he said he WILL buy one with his own money...
@@MR.MACH1NE I haven’t been able to yet.
“One to beam down!” Love it!
Great review! Could this handle the never-ending hair of two golden retrievers!!?
I don’t have pets… or hair. However, I have seen a demo they filmed at CES showing big clumps of hair being pushed into the roller whilst it was working, and they have this really cool roller brush design that spins the hair into a void on the left side that then sucks it down. I’ve not seen it before on any other vacuum!
What about UK price / shipping?
Thanks for another great review, it fails my "no dust bag" requirement sadly but one day hopefully someone will do that with the great features. Nit picking but recognising dirt and getting it isn't really AI that's just a good algorithm (sadly AI is so much of a marketing term now that nearly no one knows what AI is anymore 😢)
Noone will ever be able to say "has mittens" without sending me into PTSD style flashbacks to the 2004 Ebay UK Christmas Treasure Hunt. I may never recover.
How does this compare to the Eufy S1 Pro? Supposedly the Eufy S1 has the best mop.
You make me sad for working in a call centre. Can't wait for Narwal Freo Z Ultra to be available in my country.
Really need to test how much these things can climb between different floor levels. I personally cant justify spending around a grand on something that wont climb the gap between tiled floor and carpet
I only see it on pre-order? Is it also available in the netherlands? And HA integration?
Awesome video again! Need some more socky lore tho
Dreame x40 has 12,000. Also has extending mop and side brush.
Great! I just bought the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, but now I want this one 😂
Same but i do t want it unless ithooks up to the plumbing
Apparently it can with a separately purchased kit 👍🏻
Thanks a lot
does it dry the mop or refill the water-tank directly from the pipes?
According to the website, it uses hot air to dry the mop, and there is an optional (more $$$) water exchange hookup for both fresh water filling and waste discharge.
The only thing I miss is integration (at least HACS) with Home Assistant. Otherwise it seems really perfect 🤯
SOLD! Now i just need to convince my wife.
Good luck my friend. I find it is better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission 🤣
Can you guys come convince mine also?! I was looking at replacing my computer monitor but now that I own a home... 🙄
@@paulhibbert Any import duty to pay? 😥
But can it pass the sugar test??
I have gotten the early bird deal ($500 coupon for $69 - Canada). Only thing you didn't mention, is if it cleans the floors thoroughly? Does it leave water spots or streaks? This is important, especially with dark floors. My present robot leaves streaks and I have to go back once in a while to hand clean the floors...
How are you liking it now?
Oh, very good!
But what about that canister you hinted might not be refillable?
No idea yet, hoping I can fill it back up with something else at some point. I suppose worst case scenario you could just put some robovac safe detergent in the clean water bucket
@@paulhibbert Alright. I'm in!
@rrassoc you won’t be disappointed with it!
Where are you buying it? The Narwall you reviewed 5 months ago is still not available in the UK? This probably the same?
Almost perfect, where's the hook up to the water pipe?
The previous model had it on the back, not sure if this one does, check the website, I’d be surprised if they’d stopped it for this model
Looks like an _optional_ extra, so more £££. It also seems to show lines for both fresh and waste in the image, so you'd never have to empty it either. Refill detergent, and replace base station dust bag.
But have you seen new Shark PowerDetect? Would be great to see comparison. Thank you
Hi Paul, great videos!
Thanks!
Where is the link to buy? Im on a tablet and dont see it!
Great. So theres an early bird discount for USA and Canada but its not even available to order in the UK let alone at the discount you suggested 😞
Just assumed as a UK based reviewer that when you posted the review it would be available in the UK too!
In honesty, so did I 😞
Have their previous models been available to buy in the UK or are we hoping for a first with this???
I bought a Eufy X10P Pro Omni back in May for a little over £500 at launch and it can pretty much do all this apart from the duster (which is a great idea). Even now the Eufy is cheaper than this.
A comparison would be great, especially if the Narwal isn’t or won’t be available. Eufy available on Amazon now.
Happy Saturday fella!!
Right back atcha Steve!
Lets wait what vacuumwars has to say about it.
There needs to be a collab between Paul and @VacuumWars for this product. 🤩
Is there a UK offer yet?
man I love your channel!
But why no word about battery life, how it cleans edges and corners, how to do maintenance of the base station?
Amazing, but $1000! 🤯
I’ll wait 6 months until Tuya release a knockoff version for $400 😂
That's not gonna happen this time I'm afraid dude, the Roborocks are £500 more than this thing minimum and do less stuff. This is already majorly underpriced, if anything this IS the knock off version price, but for superior quality
Will be overpriced in the uk market knowing our luck but still looks phenomenal
Actually the S7 Max Ultra is £649.00 on Amazon UK right now and the S8 Max V is £1200. I don't know where Paul is getting £1500 from.
Did you perhaps test if it works on black floors/carpet? (Some robots go beserk on black floors activating the cliff detection)
Great to see your back to Master Baiting. We’ve all been there🤷🏻
I could never quit it full time
Paul always wins the master baiting, hands down, then up, then down and then up again and then dow...
I come here often. 😗

What is the height of it? Need to know whether it will get under the cabinets of my ikea kitchen.
This is the best commercial for this 😂
Did you happen to test how it handles pet hair/long hair?
Roborock has been the best at dealing with pet hair thus far. Curious to know how this handles it.
Do we think there’s anyway the ‘mittens’ can be modded so they actually reach the top of a standard UK skirting board ?
Can I have one of ur robo vacs? XD
can you drill into the cleaning solution and plug it with a random cork to avoid having to buy stuff from narwal all the time?
Excuse me, Mr Paul, could you please use your crowbar of influence to make them available in the UK.. just tell them Mikey wants one.. 😢
Where did you get the Star Trek going on the background screen at the beginning of the video?
My studio has two star trek images in the background. One is a TH-cam video playing the LCARS panel and you can find that in TH-cam by searching for LCARS
The other is my desktop wallpaper and it's the painting from Picard ready room. I found it on a reddit thread just by googling for "TNG Picard ready room painting"
After watching your video, I ordered one immediately 😁
Ok.. dumb question. But I'm hoping to be living in Spain by Spring .. anyway everything that works in the UK.. Will it work in Spain 🇪🇸 ?
This looks like a good unit, but my Dreame LS20 Ultra that I’ve had for about a year (cost £900 with a large accessory pack included) does all of this bar the fluffy pad to dust the skirting boards. The LS20 had the most pascals at the time but not 12k, but it also has a feature where one of the mops swings out too. Am I right in thinking I haven’t my seen Paul Hubert review Dreame robot vacs? Enjoyed the video though.
"it dusts your side woods". That. Must. Be. Code. For. Something.
And does it wash the mop pads?
The price is better than the dreame x40. But is the robot better. I'm not so sure it is. Need a more detailed review.
Have you found the answer to your question yet? I'm debating between the freo z ultra, x40 ultra and L40 ultra
Yes I have a lot of robot vacuums 😎
Hope that helps. Cheers
@CollinLutz-p9e thanks so much for your response. Any cons about the x40 you've experienced?
Ttyl
