During the long runs and hot days I often get rush from the chest strap. I’m happy I was able to join the testing phase and have to say this HRM works well. The comfort is great, even after 14h of activity I didn’t feel it at all. And I was amazed how good the optical sensor can work if you place it on the upper arm. We were able to compare data from watch, chest strap and HR31 and even when watch OHR failed to show correct data, HR31 was identical with chest strap.
I was part of the beta test and really enjoyed the HRM. It was great for cycling in particular because the wrist based HRM has never worked consistently with cycling. I wore my Coros HRM above my bicep, closer to the shoulder than the elbow and that was a great spot for consistent data.
Been beta testing for a month now and really impressed with the product. Love the ability to connected to 3 devices, syncs right to my watch and zwift. Love things that just work!
This looks like a solid device from Coros and I'm definitely interested in buying as an Apex 2 owner. The price is pretty competitive to the Verity Sense too. I have the Polar H10, it's good but I have to adjust it many times during hard run so this seems like a better option for me. Thanks for the review, Des!
I just got one. COROS says to wear between deltoid and bicep, so it looks like yours should be a little higher up the bicep, so it stays snug and picks up pulse correctly. You can rinse the strap and I think I read clean the sensor. I enjoyed your review. I should have watched it first, but this is worth buying. I am not hardcore about my HR but the watch keeps telling me I am training too hard and my HR seems too high for the pace I am going….which is slooow…lol! So I wanted to see if there was any difference using the monitor. I have not run outside yet but used it on the treadmill. I just wasn’t sure if what I see is data’s from the monitor or watch.
Thanks. I'd like a comparison of the major armband heart rate monitors. I definitely prefer it to the chest monitors. How does Coros compare to Polar, Wahoo, Scosche, etc.
A Polar Vantage V2 or GritXPro2 watch with a H10 is pretty standard for cycling so you can capture on you Edge and have you Power data all together in 2 systems and easily exported to Strava, TP and other APPs. If Coros is going add features and updates I think it will be a nice alternative to add to this growing collection of bands that allow you to wear a jewelry watch but discreetly capturing data.
Hey Des, great video as always! Maybe as a suggestion, though I don't know if you can do something about it, but my suggestion would be to rename the heart rate graphs. For example, in this video I had difficulties finding the graph for the Coros HRM. Suggestion for the graph names @ 5:15: Apple Watch Ultra Wrist HR, Edge 830 PVS, Coros HRM, Edge 540+Polar H10, Enduro 2+Polar H10. The dates in the names just clog up the screen, in my opinion. I hope I was able to get the point across 😅
Thanks! So at that portion of the video, it was more challenging to have the legend like I had on the examples just a few seconds before but I usually have that legend on the screen. Over the many years of doing this kind of testing, I've found those file naming conventions to work best for organization.
Thanks for testing weights/hiit, i ❤that about this channel, Des! My polar H10 turns on when I start a work out on my Garmin. Does the Verity Sense not do that? How strange! Is it easy to turn on and does it connect easily once on? Thanks for answers from Anyone! 😊
As a beta tester for 3 months, I can verify that it was mentioned and brought up about the color of the strap and future colors will be released. I compared to H10 for those months and reported my data but never had any major discrepancies. Granted this was only for running but it works wonderfully! Super comfortable and practically forget it is there!
You very well may get better readings there if it fits around your arm. Another thing to try though is just moving it higher up on your wrist where there's more flesh. Some tips on getting better wrist HR accuracy can be found here: th-cam.com/video/SbiQjQK8PsM/w-d-xo.html
Hello, I have a question- if I pair it with Garmin fr 265, will it give me strap hr directly on the watch during the runs? I am asking because watch hr is not good when I sprint- numbers are too low. Thank you, great videos you have!
Have any concerns with chaffing, like under your arm against the upper part of your ribs? I just wonder with the arm swing during a run and the HR band fabric rubbing against your upper ribcage.
The sensor of the apex 2 is considerably more accurate than the one on the vertix without even taking into account the fact that the vertix is huge, so IMO, yeah. I won't get it since I have an ECG strap and an apex 2 pro.
@@DesFit the same situation here, I have Coros Vertix 2 (yep, with previous gen HR sensor), but would you rather go for Polar Verity Sense or Coros HRM Monitor? I feel like I don't need to store information to the HRM as I always have the watch on my wrist. Maybe a thing to note, I often keep track of my concerts (as I am a drummer), would it be then better to opt for ECG chest strap, like Garmin HRM dual or can these arm bands be accurate also if a lot of arm movement is involved?
For other brand watch users (eg Garmin), is it possible to use this coros arm strap and add/pair its data to the other brand's hub's? I'd like to keep using my watch but adding this arm strap. Thks
Me too! I bought the Polar Verity Sense over a year ago and it functions great for running, cycling, and swimming. I am glad COROS created their own for it will push Garmin, Withings, Samsung, Apple, Polar, and Amazfit to make even more great heart-rate gadgets!
If I bought an arm HRM does it mean that using the watch heart rate sensor during running activities would now be useless(meaning to say, I should opt to use the arm HRM since it's more accurate)?
When using any external HRM, the wrist HR sensor is turned off when the external is paired. And yes, an external HRM will provide more accurate results than the wrist.
The strap comfort is a joke. I bought this and requested a return a few minutes after getting it from Amazon. The sensor may or may not be good. That is entirely irrelevant if it hurts to wear and I will never wear it. My biceps are small compared to body builders and weightlifting buffs. It will not open up large enough to fit comfortably. It is painful to wear. They label the strap as size medium when in reality it's the only size available.
Hello!!! Thank you very much for your video. I am researching to see if it is better to buy a Coros Bracelet or Verity Sense from Polar. I loved your video :) Could you tell me with what program you have made the comparison of the devices, in those graphs????? I would like to do tests with my fenix 8, polar h10, and perhaps buy both bracelets to compare directly and draw my conclusions Thank you very much for your video and help. Greetings from Spain

bought a chest strap (garmin hrm) several months ago and it has been probably the second or third best decision of my recreational running life.
👍
@@DesFit the first one is the decision to start running. the second one is to have a watch with hrv status. (instinct 2)

Nope no issues there at all. It’s very low profile.

This strap uses standard bluetooth where it can be used with any device from any brand that has the ability to pair to a bluetooth HR sensor.
Can I use this with a Garmin watch? Does it connect on the watch and show me the hr data directly on the watch or only on the COROS app?
