Yes! I wear out so quickly, Tessie. I am in the middle of a declutter on top of regular household chores. My husband says I have been snoring lately! Oh no. Well it's because I'm so tired my love. And yes, that time change is exhausting.

Tessie, I like that you always use place mats or cloths for everything you do--gardening, cleaning up in the kitchen, making food, pouring jelly into jars, etc. Then just grab them, wash them, hang them out to dry, and you're ready to go again! It adds a lot of color and a simple, homey feel. 🧡

@@cecilemarot2357 It's a round chocolate ball filled with hot chocolate mix and you either pore hot milk or hot water over it. the name of it refurse to the visual effect one sees when the hot liquid melts the ball apart.

My dad used to fix us what he called in old Navy terms, stuff on a shingle. I won't say what they really called it but it was delicious! I was just thinking about taking advantage of maybe canning some apples when the thrift store gets them. They give milk, bread, apples and oranges away free.

Hot turkey or chicken with gravy over bread is so yummy, some times I put stuffing and cranberrie sauce on a sub roll . It’s yummy comfort food.

That French fried potato cutter works so much better when it is bolted down to a counter, but of course we all can't do that! I think most moms and grandmothers used Ponds Cold Cream on their skin back in the day! I remember the smell, very nostalgic! The big round molds might be too big for a cup of hot chocolate! Maybe make 1/2 of the ball for the hot chocolate "bom_s"! You could also make floating candles with the other 1/2 of the mold. The round bottom would look cute floating in the water! God Bless!( love your idea of a year 'round tree with the bird houses)

That Turkey gravy bread with fries looked delicious. My family loves gravy bread. My Mom is 87 and she still uses Ponds cold cream, her skin is so soft and you can also use it on your elbows and heels.Many Blessings Tessie. ❤ Deb C.

That jar opener is absolutely fabulous! I had an aunt who used only Ponds for her nighttime routine. She didn't have a wrinkle, not one. She swore by it.

I’ve never used pectin. I’ve always preferred as natural as I can make.
I heard that apples have natural pectin in them, same with raspberries.
So, does the jelly firm without the pectin…? Curious about how it works…

On my goodness, we used to tear up the bread in little pieces before we put the gravy over it. Mom called it haystacks and brings back memories of my childhood when money was especially tight. What my mom could do with a couple of hamburger patties and gravy.
I think those are called cocoa bombs . But I really think those molds would be too big for those 😊

Hi, Tessie! I always loved when my mother made hot, open-faced turkey sandwiches for dinner, and I make variations of them to this day. Oh, my goodness...the fry-maker you have is amazing! Everything looked delicious. What you said about being tired after dinner and clean-up was very relatable. I find my energy is gone, and I just need to relax and wind down at that point. It was fun to see the gifts you received; based on what I've seen, those are the molds you could use for the hot cocoa "balls". ☕
I have that potato peeler I have used it for potatoes and fruit. Such a time saver. I ran into the same issue you did where the fruit just spun right off. I ordered the potato cutter a week ago and it should be here tomorrow. I can't wait to make FF and also canning french fries. Merry Christmas Tessie.
I saw an interesting way to make gravy. You take a can of cream of chicken soup and a packet of brown gravy mix. Combine and add your shredded meat!

Tessie, yall's meal looked delicious and so did your apple jelly/jam. Yum!! Love the way your home is decorated for Christmas. It gives off such a warm and inviting feeling. ❤ Loved the gifts you opened for us. How nice of your friends to send them. As far as the time change and how dark it gets, this is the 1st year that I can remember that the darkness is a bit much. Is it just me or does anyone else feel as though this time change this year has brought on a different kind of darkness. It feels like I'm driving home through some kind of abyss.
Canning up broth and beans today. I still have some Ball lids but they are the ones that may or may not seal. My strategy is to use all ForJars lid’s except one Ball until I get the ball lids used up. That way if it doesn’t seal, I just have one jar to put in the fridge to use quickly.
