- You've been asking! Here are two versions of the popular Tree Hut brand shea sugar scrubs. These sugar scrubs feel great on the skin. They emulsify and leave no greasy residue behind. This is a nice alternative to traditional emulsified sugar scrubs, although both are great! Please watch the video to see how it's done. grapeseed oil
shea butter
silica dimethyl silylate
polysorbate 80
glycerin
fragrance oil/essential oil
optiphen preservative
white granulated sugar

I just made the sugar scrub formula that has less oil in it and it is AWESOMESAUCE!! Just what I was looking for!! It doesn't leave your skin overly dry either. I am impressed!! I think I just found my new best seller in my etsy shop!!!😃 Thank you!!!!

Hi, Thanks for sharing! How does this hold up in the heat whe transporting?
Can this work with Xanthan gum or stearic acid instead of Silica?
Stearic acid might be a good substitute, but Xanthan gum will not work since it only thickens water and not oil.
Please what would you sugg st as a replacement for silica?

Hi Twila, yes, men use scrubs as well! I love made to measure type by bramble berry for a men's scent as well as mahoganny and shea from candle science.

Yes, probably
I made this sugar scrub batch without color or fragrance and added it separately! This worked wonderfully. This is now my daughter's favorite vs tree hut (and my favorite also!) Thanks for this great recipe Cory!
