    For anyone confused about percentages:
    e.g
Let’s say you want to make a 100g batch
And you want to use 10% Shea butter
What you first do is divide the percentage by 100 (any percentage written as a decimal must be divided by 100)
    So 10/100 = 0.1
You then multiply 0.1 by your batch size, which in this example is 100
    So 0.1 x 100 = 10
So you need 10g of Shea butter
    Hope this helps

I appreciate you providing that clarification! Quick question from a non-science folk who really appreciates the women who are….what do you mean by “batch”? I’m trying this recipe and using the percentages calculator that BTB recommended, I just don’t fully understand batch. Is a batch, like the size of “one serving” or is it the entire bag of chips lol ?

    • @user-rg5qk6hb2l
      @user-rg5qk6hb2l 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@wandavasquez1374 aww 🤍 by batch I mean the total amount of product that you want to make. So if you’re making 1 jar of product and that one jar fits 100g, then your batch size is 100g. If you’re making 2 jars then your batch size is 200g and so on.
Batch is just the quantity of product that you want to make. Hope this makes sense.

OMGOSH HEYYY CHICA ..So I'm new at creating my own hand creams, scrubs, etc. I was a chef at one point and found it to not be exactly what I wanted. I could never figure it out until now. You gave me so much knowledge on what I know now I feel like you're my mentor lol. I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU. Thank you for helping me inspire my business. I studied this video from ins and outs and no joke, I literally studied this video to every single detail and took plenty of notes. Finally I had the courage to try to make this myself but ofc in my own way. It came out EXACTLY like the one in the video. I'm more than pleased and yes I tweeked it just a bit. I did add phenonip instead as my preservative and I must say if you add just about a medium pinch of stearic acid it makes it even more delightful. Thank you for posting this video and sharing your notes. Bless you 🥰 I will continue to watch your videos to learn. Also, I definitely must recommend the brand of xanthan gum by bobs red mill. They are quite expensive but definitely worth every penny. It made the mixing with glycerin quite less effort since it's extremely fine powder almost like triple sifted . It made the mixing extremely easy and NO clumping issues AT ALL. I never write reviews nor this much for that matter but this video meant so much to me. Thank you queen. Keep doing the amazing job you're doing. I'M LEARNING SO MUCH FROM YOU 🥰🥰

If you're curious about how other ingredients will work , I encourage you to try it yourself. One of the many beautiful things about formulation is experimentation! I have not tried this formulation with ingredients other than what is listed and I dont have the availability to try alternative ingredients to provide you with substitutions...that's a reformulation and your girl is spread thinnnnnnnnnnnnnn. This looks like a beautiful scrub. A little tip I heard that helped me immensely is when pouring things like fragrance oil, use a wooden skewer. Of course you'll need two hands so it will be hard for filming. But, if you hold the skewer vertically right over the weighing container, then put the lip of whatever you're pouring right on the side of the skewer, the liquid will come out of that bottle and down the skewer perfectly. It was an absolute game changer for me! For some reason the fragrance oils like to travel down the side of the bottle instead of into the beaker.

So happy I came across this recipe, I’ve been looking how to make my emulsified scrub stay soft😊💕
Curious if polysorbate20 can be used instead, since that’s what I already have😊

Thankyou so much for sharing your formula and providing helpful tips. I live in Australia and cannot find Phenylpropanol EHG, can I use something else as a substitute?

I like the consistency before you use the mixer can I skip that or would it separate? Also if I skip the ceteral alcohol what happens? Can I also use liquid germall or optiphen instead? Thanks in advance for your response
