Sounds great 😎 can't beet in order Johnson evinrude. I just picked up a 1977 9.9 evinrude that is very good Condition but needs the lower unit rebuild. Pick it up for 180$ running great after Sitting for 2 years His father passed away and it was his motor You had the lower unit apart parts all there in a box that came with it I'm going to have it rebuilt along with my Johnson 9.9 that needs the lower unit rebuild as well know why one Who can help Can help I don't know if you are done 1 or not . I also need help with my 1951 evinrude 15 horsepower
Hey. Yeah never rebuilt one before. I always just bought another one from ebay. Those gears are very expensive ! Thanks again !
This old outboard i have all the. Gears that came in the Box his father passed away from cancer he was rebuilding it but in the middle he got cancer and passed away unfortunately but I'm hoping to put this motor back together because the power head runs great and it's very clean.
yeah i had that happen to me before accidently started full throttle & felt like it was going to jump off the stand.

Have a 25 on a little 14ft starcraft (1962) :) Great motor... I do have a question. Have a 1977 Evinrude 6704 6hp twin. Can a larger powerhead bolt onto that lower?? Has spark & good parts, only 90lbs compression :(
Hey. Thanks for tuning in! 90 is good. No, only 5, 5.5 & 6 hp will fit. I would look for a bigger carb. 7-8 hp if it fits or change the high speed jet/orifice in the carb, I believe it is a 52D size, you could try a 57D, it may bump it up to a 6.5-7 hp. But be careful removing it, if it breaks your screwed! Thanks again !

Hey. Thanks for tuning in! Wow. That's an old outboard. Don't you need to do a conversion with the bypass cover so you can put a regular pump on it? I don't know that much about it. Never did one.
@@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 i have the pressure tank with it I like to keep these old ones original I've worked on a bunch of these but this one's got me stumped it was a first pull start motor and it used to run like a champ if I get the fuel to it it runs I took the flywheel off the key looks okay what flywheel looks a little wallered out not bad enough to make it out of timing what do you think? Really would like it if you came over to my house and help me you can help me video too I still have your phone number my friend I'll keep in contact keep up the great content.

It acts just like mine does. No adjustment and opens late. My roller opens the carb just a hair but the linkage isn't moving. The linkage kicks in like an inch in. Superweird. Been trying everything as I had issues with starting it (it starts as best between the marks but with the handle pulled back "below idle" everything just acts really bad and she just gets thougher to start) so thanks for this!
Did Evinrude send a service bulletin on the timing on this motor?
I have a 20hp and drilled open the carb. Runs way better and I gained 4 knts (20% gain) with an overloaded (family of 4 with a week's luggage) 13ft.
