She always seem so natural. Me and my brothers enjoyed watching her cooking show Nigella's Kitchen on TLC😋 Especially for her accent 🤣(just as beautiful as herself 😅) because we liked imitating her accent as we tried her recipes.
To people asking about the "salting your aubergines" - traditionally after the eggplant is cut into the large slices, one would salt them and let them sit - to make them weep. They would give off their natural liquid which was bitter. She means that she doesn't salt them BEFORE cooking. Salting them at the end is merely for flavor.
I just made this entire meal. The pea salad and grilled eggplants are incredible! The Maldon Salt gives a nice crunch tobthe eggplants as well. So simple yet full of flavor. Yorkshire pudding as a pudding is delicious, so I made a double batch to eat both with the roast beef and as a dessert. I also included a simple red wine sauce to make everything come together.
She is so down to earth and REAL I love her shows. She puts a lot of chefs today to shame because she is so likable. Wish she was still making shows videos whatever so we could watch more.
Ma'am Nigella, ever since I watched your vids since year mid 20's, it's the only cooking show where my attention is divided. One, your cooking; two, in your beauty.
Giada is slim and perky with a great big smile. Giada presents the recipe. Nigella is genuinely interacting with the food, she loves the feel of it, the scent, the flavors and when she has a bite it is with gusto. She sometimes turns away when she has a big bite and discreetly wipes the corner of her mouth, that's charming. I wish there were more episodes I could watch. I've made the Pea Mint Avo Salad, grilled eggplant, Lemon Linguines which I altered into a Carbonara and am now working my way through Pavlovas! Perfecting the Pavlova has become my obsession!
All the uncultured swine saying the beef is too raw, she says to cook it longer if you want. Her and the rest of us with good taste will eat the beef rare.
it's just personal preference. To me pink or red meat has a strong metallic taste that puts me off. I'm not crazy about the texture either. But everyone should eat what they like. If you like it, it's done right.
Memories for me are my mum @ dad's Sunday roast beef @ Yorkshire's ...then we would always have leftover Yorkshire pudding with golden syrup for dessert so double puddined...👅😝
When she said Yorkshire for pudding it is wouldn’t have thought 💭 of that idea and cold roast what a great idea and the salad 🥗 plus the a or Aubergine simple but looks yummy 😋 as 🤗 bless you Nigella for this channel
Hello ! Thanks for this vidéo ! My name is David Lawson ^^ and my favorite dinner is Yorkshire pudding with beef and sauce ... (sorry for my English ..I'm English but was born in France and I still live in France..so I have lost vocabulary ..) Happy new year ! I will look your others recipes
I will only eat red meat RARE....but because I live in America I am often disappointed with restaurants because they tend over cook red meat all the time. If you ask for “rare” they always end up giving you “medium rare”. Which is maddening. That is why I prefer to NEVER eat out if I can help it. I will go to the butcher and get a beautifully marbled ribeye 🥩 I prefer it truly rare. Only seasoned lightly with some good sea salt and cracked black pepper. So many people in America put steak sauce on steak and it’s infuriating. A good steak needs NO steak sauce. *Steak sauce is for tough and grisly cuts of meat that are not enjoyable on their own*
Part of the problem is that red meat especially continues to cook even when removed from the heat. So if it's left sitting whilst they prep the rest of the food, that is why most red meat orders come out cooked past the desired temperature.
Wow I’ve never seen peas mixed into lettuce as a salad. It’s usually just a side dish or something added to dishes. It’s actually a cool idea I should try. Meanwhile I had to find out what an Aubergibe was before realizing it’s just European for eggplants lol. Fancy! I like!
PEA MINT!.... AVOCADO SALAD!... SOUNDS LIKE A HEALTHY RECIPE EVERYONE SHOULD TRY! ...... YOUR A COOKING PRO .... MS. LAWSON! ............ YOUR "FLUID" COOKING "LANGUAGE" IS SUPERB ...... TO BOOT!
Beef precisely how it should be ...... i.e. not roasted to the point where chewing old boot leather would be less of a chore. As a Yorkshireman I can say that having Yorkshire pudding as a pudding was not the done thing in my childhood, we always had them with the roast dinner. I'd actually left home before I ever tried them as a pudding, not really my cup of Darjeeling tbh.
Agreed. I'm a Yorkshireman too. She should be slathering that with onion gravy. But... I may try this recipe. Not as dessert, but with the beef. Not sure my missus will approve as she's the Yorkshire maker in this house. It's got to be worth a go mind you.
Of all your cooking’s meal , I vividly recalled one late evening b4 u turn in, tip toed into the kitchen fridge & steal a bite prior jumping onto bed. Lol 😂
Ver cocinar a Nigella's es puro Glamour , su forma de hablar ,moverse ,hasta de comer sus preparaciones, es elegante, me encanta ver sus videos..saludos para Ella...
The only eggplant/aubergine experience that was bitter came from one i picked too late. Ive picked them while smaller ever since. Never salted mine neither
And you'll notice after she went on and on and on and on about not salting them, she says "all they need now is oil, lemon and SALT." So yes, she IS salting them, which made her speech make no sense and she contradicted herself.
Easy Yorkshire pudding, 3 large eggs, 125g all purpose flour, 1 tsp salt 150ml of water and milk together (makes them lighter) very very hot fat and 15/20 minutes in a very hot oven
I think I ll give a try to this menu on Sunday with my Italian family...... In Italy.....it s looks real yummy for me.... Don t know them.. Will let you know....
Nigelia, you are beautiful and classy. You look like a movie star and you are in the kitchen. I love that you are so natural and down to earth. Thku for sharing your recipies. You should be in every tv channel. Gb 💋💃🔯🙋
She has certainly changed over the years, not meaning in appearance but in demeanor, it's almost she is a completely different "character" nowadays--compared to the more recent Nigella series, this version of Nigella seems more down-to-earth, less "polished", less produced and staged, just more natural and spontaneous. Even her manner of speaking is so much more casual and real-feeling, than the carefully rehearsed, overly "scripted" feeling of her more recent shows.
I love the fact Nigela eats like she's actually hungry and cooks like she enjoys it. That's what food is about.
The reason of her success in a nutshell ^^
Nigella always looks angry.
yes that's true
Her down to earthness is absolutely wonderful. One amazing lady.
Agree! ))
I watched this more than a decade ago, and still make that grilled eggplant and pea salad
I love her, messiness and all.

She makes me so hungry!
Great moment in the video! Brilliantly delivered. She's just such a natural. And yes. Hashtag Me too.
She’s so extra! She makes everything look so easy😊

They’re American, mate. Big clue was eggplant for aubergine.

She was my all-time fave. Loved watching her go in to the kitchen to eat left over cake 🤣
I could listen to you talk and watch you cooking all day. Love the accent & the recipe..... a must try.
I like her authenticity

Omg I freaking love her! She’s just so real!
Queen of Messy Cooking and Eating!
GIADA COULD NEVER!
She's the BEST
Giada doesn't look like she actually eats. Nigella does look like she actually eats what she cooks! Not overweight, but healthy.
I love them both! :)

Giada doesn't eat. Didn't you know she keeps a bucket on the set where she spits out food? No, joke.
The way she tastes her food is so satisfying to watch

My favorite thing about this video is the knife she uses to chop the mint with.
It’s called a mezzaluna and tbh i bought it and i never used it a lot a knife would be just fine
Absolutely brilliant! Wonderful food. Wonderful person(ality). I would pair this with a nice Pineau des Charentes for my guests to complete the meal.

Jacques Pepin would give her the evil eye for cracking the eggs on the side of the bowl. 🤣😂
It looks delicious! I love her natural cooking and speaking. Just wondering what sauces she puts on the pudding?
they're thick cream and golden syrup :9
The recipe for Yorkshire pudding is credited to a Chinese guy by Grigson. He won a Yorkshire pudding competition.
Vegetarians turn away now. Lmao I love her.
so adorable lady and great cook
She's a great cook but my own cooking ocd causes me to go insane when she doesn't wipe her hands the whole time lol
Great dumplings!!! 👍

What temperature is the beef cooked?
I got lost on the 300 milliliters of milk. I onky know cup language 😂
One and a quarter cups, give or take. That's why I measure all my liquids in a measuring jug, they tend to have both cups and ml printed on them :)
So look it up, lazy ass.
i'm confused...she said she never salts her eggplant but then puts salt on it at the end... am i missing something???
I think she means no need to salt them before cooking
Do all the eggs in England have their yolks that lovely, deep golden color?
Yes. We do have very good quality eggs, our poultry and dairy is also some of the best in Europe I’m my opinion.
@@manmaje3596 Nonsense. Most shop bought eggs are a pale yellow colour, unless you buy premium brands like Clarence Court etc.
Nigella always talks about the "lovely golden yolks"! She says they are Italian eggs.
