Good job, but small tip...: First place those 'replacement' pads on position, then (in this case) put UV mask on end, where connector is placed. After that solder them down. It will be stronger....so it will make this even stronger to mechanical manipulation! :-)
I agree with this. The time I use solder mask before hand is when repairing traces to something that will be reflowed with hot air. Using solder mask in this instance helps make sure the solder connection stays in place when the solder gets molten. However, when able it's better to solder the connector in place then add solder mask after it's in place and soldered.
What is the difference between circuitmedic epoxy and normal expoxy? And can I use epoxy to cover the wires instead of the green mask/epoxy used in the video in case I do not have the green expoxy? Thanks
What is the name of the tool you used at the beginning to remove the green masking off of the metal traces on the board? Do you have link for it? Also, where can I get the pads? Thanks!
@@PrimoAngelo I am wondering can I use expoxy instead of the green mask? Would epoxy work fine cuz I do not have green mask for now and it is gonna take some time to receive it
@@mohamedabdoumohamed4642 Solder masks should be able to withstand the melting temperatures of solder up to 650°F (340°C). For epoxy depends if it's a normal epoxy (150°C / 300°F) or a Heat-resistant epoxy (300°C / 600°F). The normal one may melt/boil/bubble, you should use a heat resistant one. You can try it on a sample board to see if it is heat resistant before using it on the joycon. It must resist the molten solder at least 1-2 seconds to allow you to do the button soldering.
Do you take jobs online? I have a trace or 2 (or 3) that goes right up to an MCU on a keyboard PCB. I believe i already have the replacement part - i just need someone with the experience to fix the traces. I can send pics if need be. Please let me know if this is something you're open to & we can chat more. A couple years ago, when my issue arose, i couldn't find any video/info on how to do this myself - thank you so much for posting this!! 👍👍👌
Nintendo has made devices that are very weak and break easily. Obviously these repairs are not done for money but only to not throw away easily fixable objects.
Thank you for sharing high-quality maintenance knowledge with everyone. Upvote for you!
Thank you very much!

This was really good. You should get some circuitmedic epoxy underneath the new pads so they stay in place better though.

@@mohamedabdoumohamed4642 I think circuitmedic epoxy is an epoxy that conducts electricity, the normal one it is an electrical insulator

Hi.. Nice video.
what microscope will you use? the quality is really great. Thanks for info

Hello I have a question, why you put solder on two far spots at the start at the video (when you use the solder wick)
Hi, I put flux to remove solder residue that was on it, placed by the previous owner but I don't know why he did it. I prefer to start clean.
@@PrimoAngelo Thank you lots for the aclaration

Can you use solder instead of wire
Hi! Without a pad o wire is very difficult to resolder the button if the board has broken traces.
What was the temperature degree you used?
For small component I use 315°C, for ground anchor point about 340°C.
😊hello can i have the name of the liquid which hardened with the uv lamp😊

Great work! Which solder do you use? Leaded? Thank you
Thank You. Yes, I use Sn60/Pb40 solder without flux inside the solder wire because I use the original Amtech NC-559-V2-TF flux.

Flux is the original Amtech NC-559-V2-TF. Solder mask is MECHANIC GY-UVH900
What's name of injection material he put all the time ?
