    I WILL LIST SOME FAVORITE FEATURES AND DISLIKES BELOW.
    PROS:
    Fuel efficient
    Price Point
    Luxury comfort for little money
    Gm reliability and upkeep costs.
    Lots of legroom and storage.
    Handling and steering feel.
    Easy to park.
    Lamborghini Urus inspired exterior styling.
    Nice black leather with blue accent stiching and piping.
    Physical buttons for volume and heat controls.
    Stereo sounds great for a budget vehicle.
    Android auto and apple car play.
    Cons:

    I myself also purchased a 2024 Buick Envista ST and really enjoy it. I have now had it seven weeks tomorrow and have just shy of 1100 miles on it. I got the very first one sold in my city so I have been getting lots of looks, and questions about it, especially with it carrying the updated version of the Buick emblem on it. I have been very happy with it. If I am being completely honest my one area of concern is the 3 cyl engine and the potential life expectancy of the turbo on such a tiny engine. I myself don't plan on putting it thru the speed ringers so I should be ok, but I am afraid for anyone that drives this engine hard they could be looking at engine/mechanical issues or a less then desirable milage/life for the Envista. Great review, thank you for sharing.

      The 3cyl turbo in this has been through the wringer in the Asian markets for many years, and given their driving environments and habits are much harsher than in N America, and the reported reliability they've had, I wouldn't worry.
      But yeah, for longevity of higher temperature turbo engines, cut the recommended oil change interval in half if you plan to keep the car beyond 100K miles.

      @ Good advice. Wet timing belt not a chain. This could be a good car. Change the oil every with Mobil 1 every 3k miles. Unless you got the new 24 month lease deal. Considering this to replace 2015 Camry. For the money this is sharp GM-Korean car but without the 5yr/10 yr warranty that Hyundai./Kia offers. GM should extend warranty and give us option of 1.3L turbo with ST/Avenir. These will sell like hotcakes.

    Nice to see that "Buick is Back!" They always made a better car than Chevrolet, but they were never appreciated as a car for all ages. This Avenir version is a real eye-catcher and looks as though it's going to be a fine and affordable automobile. Those are two attributes that are rarely enjoyed together. Good for you, Buick.

    Realized last night while driving, there's a manual shift button on the shifter knob.

    There's a readout on the digital screen lower left corner to tell you what gear your car is in.

    Great review! I was looking Trax but when I saw it up close and drove it, it felt smaller than what I wanted. Then I heard about the Envista which is the same platform but about 4 inches longer. When I drove it, it just feels like a bigger vehicle. I like the power liftgate and power driver seat which isn't offered in the Trax 2RS. I would have to upgrade to the Activ trim to get the power seat but still no power liftgate. I did not care for the blacked out wheels on the Activ trim I really like them on the Envista. I think it's just wheel design and coupe-like slope of the rear window that make a difference. So getting an Envista ST, I can get the power seat and liftgate. Thanks for reviewing this vehicle.

For those who seek power, look somewhere else, it's not a BWM neither a Mercedes but just a very decent car that can move itself witout getting in a drage race :) It's a 3cyl turbo by the way.

    I was considering purchasing an Envista or Chevy Trax which are basically the same vehicle until I researched the vehicles further.
    both use the same 1.2 turbo charged 3-cylinder engine while new in America, has been used for several years in Europe.
    This engine uses what is known as wet timing belt technology which is a special reinforced rubber timing belt meant to use the engines oil like engines with timing chains.
    Supposedly the belts are supposed to last 150 thousand miles before they need to be changed.
    However, this engine belt has been failing in European cars around 60 thousand miles.
    In addition to failure, as the rubber peels away from the belt in clogs the oil pan sump pump causing engine failure and the oil pan must be removed to clean the sump pump filter, so it adds expense.
    In addition, there is no timing cover because the belt is inside the block so to change it you must remove a lot of parts on top of the engine to gain access to the belt.
    Bottom line, it is labor intensive and because most people have their timing belt replaced by a mechanic both the belt, which is special, so expensive and the labor are sky high.
    And that does not include of pieces of rubber peeled from the belt and ended up in the oil pan.
    Also, the turbo's tended to freeze up and become inoperable in winter European weather.
    Before buying one of these vehicles, I encourage you to watch a few videos posted on TH-cam on the wet timing belt.
    Manufactures are doing this because it makes the engine more compact and more importantly, cheaper to produce.

Mechanics actually do a video of a wet timing belt replacement on a Pouget with this same engine. You can also do a Google news search.@@B9M3

    • @Goldisks7
      @Goldisks7 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Funny4450 I know what you mean. I also have a 2013 Buick Verano, which I love. My Verano still has low miles and runs as smooth and quiet as the day I bought it. The only reason I'm considering trading it in is because I depended on OnStar for my navigation and OnStar no longer supports navigation in GMC models prior to 2016. I can't figure out how to use Google maps or Waze through the car speakers and also continue to use Bluetooth for phone calls. Seems like it's one or the other. Even though I'd love to have a sub-compact SUV and I really need navigation, I hate the idea of letting go of my Verano. I love that car!

    • @SassageLink83
      @SassageLink83 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The funny thing is I'm also considering the Envista and drive a 2013 Verano. Although my Verano has had a couple of the somewhat common major issues (timing chain snapped at about 100K and now it's burning oil), I still love that little bugger. With 160,000 miles on it and being 11 years old, it's time to upgrade before something really bad or expensive happens to it though. A good friend of mine sells Buick/GMCs and he's been trying for a few months to get me to test drive an Envista, which I am scheduled to do next week. I like the price point and it seems like a comfortable daily driver. Here's to hoping it's what I'm expecting.

    • @Goldisks7
      @Goldisks7 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just wondering if you did the test drive on the Envista? If so, did you like it? I've made several attempts at my local dealership to test drive one, but they never have one available. They seem to sell out pretty quickly! At this point, I'll likely put an order in for a 2025 model, when that option opens up later in the year. Also, might be a safer bet to not buy the first model year of the Envista. On a different note, are you using navigation in your Verano?

    • @SassageLink83
      @SassageLink83 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Goldisks7 I got to finally test drive over this past weekend. It was really nice. I was surprised that it was as roomy as it was. I'm 6'2", 225 lbs, so definitely not a small guy. I had plenty of room in the driver seat and the 5'10" Mrs fit behind me perfectly fine during the test drive. Only thing I didn't care for is the little bit of delay in the turbo kicking in when you stomp the gas pedal (just not something I'm used to - never had a turbo vehicle). But, it drove like a much heavier car and felt sturdy. Wasn't anything special about the way it drove, but it was comfortable and confident. I ended up ordering a Preferred model with both Convenience packages in the blue color. Less than $26K before tax and title.
      With my Verano, I don't use navigation. I have the convenience model which didn't come standard with it. But, I just turn on navigation on my phone and it goes over the sound system with Pandora playing so I don't miss the onboard navigation system at all.

      @@SassageLink83funny how we can get attached to an inanimate object..I too love my 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe which only has 21,620 miles (not a typo!). My wife wants me to purchase a new vehicle because we're senior citizens and thinks I need all the new safety features that she has in her car. She sends me out looking after checking TH-cam videos, but I always come back with a good story of why I wasn't interested in her suggested vehicle, lol. After checking the "ugliness" of the Hyundai tuscon, Kia sportage and Mitsubishi Optima..this Buick looks really nice. Last Buick I had was a1989 Century...had it for 10 reliable years. I would like to commend you for doing a good job on your review of the 2024 Buick Envista. We just purchased a dark silver Buick Envista ST February of this year and I really enjoy driving it. Two major disappointments with this car is that it does not come with a navigation system and a CD player. I was told that I can use my Apple Car Play for directions. The problem is that my phone has a limited plan. With regards to the CD player, I was told that I can put my music on a thumb drive. So, I tried the USB port underneath the front dashboard, and I could not get the Envista to play the music on my thumb drive. I went back to the dealership where we bought the car, and they couldn't figure it out either. One of the mechanics had several thumb drives and they would not play. I found nothing in the manual either. So, I watched several videos on TH-cam, and I noticed that the person driving the car would press the round lighted button directly to the left of the radio display and it would expand your audio inputs. If you are listening to FM, look to the left of your station display and you will see several small circles within a circle with an up arrow. Press that. When that expanded screen came on and I put in my thumb drive, the USB symbol would then light up and the thumb drive would play. This was not specifically discussed in any of the Envista videos that I watched. It might be something that you may want to mention. Otherwise, good job!

    Nice review. I wouldn't be surprised if this vehicle is offered with AWD in the future, albeit in a mild hybrid version with an electric motor at the rear. This keeping the flat floor in the back seat. A good set of snow tires on this vehicle will out handle a comparable AWD vehicle with all-season tires on ice and snow. And maintenance costs will probably be reasonable as there is a LOT of room to get around the engine underhood and only 3-cylinders to deal with. This is probably the best value in any vehicle on the road. From the interior, it presents much nicer than than its price point. I got to sit in a couple of these recently. Base versions of this mid-luxury vehicle are priced with a stone's throw of the cheapest vehicle you can buy. Definitely worth a good look if you are seeking an affordable new vehicle.

I have had a couple of gm vehicles since I had a 2004 Le Sabre with the patented Tilt Wheel which was wonderful to drop right down in your lap when cruising. But these new ones just aren't the same and I find them uncomfortable trying to find a good position. Over all it seems like a real nice vehicle and I hope it does good for him. 😀

If I remote start the vehicle (whether it is hot or cold outside), when I get in to the seat it feels like the heated seat was just slightly on. I am pretty sure both seats act this way. Also, the recycle feature on the heat/air is terrible. If its on recycle I still get awful exhaust and other smells from the outside entering the vehicle. As long as you understand this car is not meant for power, then it's the best bang for your buck by far. especially considering base models of domestic cars start at 35k now. Buick might win in the end on this one and get their name out on the road. We live in times where we can only spend so much, and the base model starts lower than most. At this point if any company in the US needed a life line apparently its GM. Could this be it? Hopefully not too little too late. The down side is really that GM could have been producing this car and its equal or better for the last 50 years. Are GM executives playing too much golf?

      Yeah it's a good height to make it easy to get in and out of. Better than a car that sits super low. As far as trading things in, it's a huge tax advantage. I just ended up trading both my supercars in on a newer more expensive one and I may have lost a few thousand in value over a private sale but I saved $43,000 in taxes by doing so. And allowed me to get out of the cars immediately while the car I wanted was available. In British Columbia here we get taxed alot so any savings there is worth it.

Yes, it is very pretty and has a lot of features. Except there's no reserve power, for when the car is fully loaded and you're driving up a mountain on a hot day. It's still a lot of money for a car that has a motor that is tiny. Miniscule. Small. This motor belongs in a car like the Miata, not a SUV. It does look kind of pretty, but the bargain ends there.
