How to Unlock a NIU Electric Scooter for Extra Speed

- How to unlock a NIU scooter to achieve a higher top speed.
1. Hold the green button while the scooter is OFF
2. Use the key to turn the scooter ON
3. Immediately pull the right brake lever and hold for 3 seconds, then release the brake lever and the green button at the same time
4. Press the green button for 10 seconds
5. Release the green button and pull the brake lever for 1 second - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Is there a way to change the country of the niu to another? I shipped a niu u1 from china and now it doesnt work on the app since the sim inside is different.
Never heard of this situation before! Your best bet would be to email technical@niu.com and give them the VIN of the scooter with an explanation of the problem. They should have an answer for you. Thanks for watching!

As far as we know this only works for the UQi, MQi+ sport, and the N sport which are in the American market. Don’t know about any other products from NIU.

No idea! Sorry, we only get certain models in the US and that isn’t one of them.

It should. Max speed will just be 30mph.

i just boiguht a niu scooter, im ok with the speed but whenever it crosses 15km/hr it beeps and its hella annoying. any idea how to disable ?

Yes we are still having to do it to every new 29mph NIU we get.

Assuming you have a US market NIU, you probably just have the timing of the button presses slightly off. Keep trying. Good luck.

The unlock gets it to 30. They’ve been shipping from the factory with a top speed of 22.

@@VespaPortland I tried it and it restrict the speed instead of increasing it Haha. Gladly after I redo it, It returns back to original speed Hahaha. Almost got an heart attack there. LoL.

Great question! Never tried but my guess would be to do the process again.
For a Model N1S Civic from 2017 this trick doesnt work it seems.When applied it slows down to half the speed.
That’s not a model in the US market so sorry we can’t help. There’s probably a TH-cam video somewhere about it.
I did this sequence on a 2020 NIU NQi-GTS Pro which was able to do 45mph but all it did was restrict the bike to 18mph ( in sport mode ). Is there anything I can do to get this model to go faster than 45mph?
Not that we know of. But we’ve heard there TH-cam vids from Asia about unlocking them to go 60+. Of course your battery consumption is going to go way up by doing that. Good luck.
@@VespaPortland I don't want to overheat the battery and risk killing it either. I think I shall just leave it as is. I use mine for fast food delivery and some of the sections on the outer edge of the city are 50mph and I frequently feel like I'm being "pushed" by traffic for being restricted at 45mph. I shall keep telling myself "it's their problem".
oh and thanks for pointing out the middle button. I had never taken notice of it. On the NQI it activates the hazard lights while the ignition is off.

Oh, definitely not. We were sent this unlock sequence from the manufacturer. No warranty issue at all.

Maybe try it again? But we don't think so. The instructions sent out were only for an unlock.
mine niu n1s lite goes 50 km/h.if u want to go faster need to change ecu thats all.there isnt much tricks to boost up without changing hardware.

I have NSport from 2019. I have tried this procedure several times. Nothing has changed...
If your top speed is 29mph it’s already maxed out. If it’s 22, that’s odd. Can’t really troubleshoot through text. Try emailing technical@niu.com.

When you email NIU, provide your VIN number. They might be able to update from their side over the air. Good luck!

This did nothing to my MQis 2022.
Probably just an issue of getting the timing right.
DO NOT BUY NIU. I've spent the last 5 hours trying to get it up and running. It had an error 3 and no one can explain how to fix.
