For anyone wondering about the niu kqi3 pro on the max firmware, it works with it too and it shows that it can go 38km on custom mode but it only goes 32km sadly
Just bought my KQi3 Sport in AUS Max speed 25km/h so it's the EU version, I upgraded to the KQi3 Sport US firmware and i got 28km/h but after reading Mister Gasparazzi's (Props to you mate) comment on how he installed the Max US firmware on his Sport i thought stuff it lets try, so that's what i did and I'm now getting 32km/h max with no one on it. I still have to push to start but man the take off now daym. Please if you try and it fails/bricks i take no responsibility. I also have an iPhone and i did it on android then switched back to my iPhone app and everything works, so if you have an iPhone buy a cheapo or borrow someone's Samsung to do the firmware upgrade then simply switch back to your iPhone app like normal. Have a look at the photos it shows that I'm on the US Max FOC K3E13J23 and its asking me to update to the latest Sport Firmware K3E13J25. Its Raining ATM so when its dry i will see what Max speed i can hit on My new Sport-Max Hybrid in a straight line and post back here, I'm 87kg so lets see. Question: What models have the instant throttle not push off required, Does the Max have this option? You have to turn off the security settings in your download menu on phone. Basically your phone will only let you download from 'trusted sources' u uave to disable that setting
yo this actually works 1:07 u can just do the tune in your android phone and then close the app in your Android phone and login and connect your bike to your iPhone with the official app. The official app works perfectly fine. the tune doesn't go away.

Muss dazu anmerken, dass ich davor die Firmware des Scooter mit der offiziellen App auf die aktuelleste geupdated habe. Gibts da einen Grund dafür, wieso ich die 38 km/h nicht einstellen kann?
That's because the official app tracked your location and applied the specific update for your region (which is probably europe) if the app sees you in the usa,canada then you'll have the full speed possible. If you live in germany or europe then you'll be limited. I've done this tutorial and unlocked 32kmph on my pro scooter. Since the modified version of the app has no geo tracking and runs updates off your own provided files.

I performed an experiment today and the conclusion is that the kqi2's display is lying. When it runs on EU firmware, the 25 km/h is actually about 23, and with US firmware, the 28 is actually 25.5.
Is there any new update on the MAX firmware? The regen brake is always on and the tail light is way too dim. Did they put out an update to fix that? I know with PRO fimware, it doesn't do that.

@@Lahl81 Zrobiłem update wg opisu na KQI3 Pro. Hulajka wyciąga teraz 32 km/h, pod koniec baterii 28-29 km/h. Zasięg spadł bardzo nieznacznie. Odinstalowałem starą apkę i załadowałem nową z pliczku z linka. Robiłem to na Samsungu Galaxy S20 i było trochę kombinowania, bo uparcie blokował mi instalację pliku z zewnątrz (musiałem to wyłączyć w opcjach i na chwilę zdezaktywować antywirusa). Apka działa jak normalna fabryczna aplikacja Niu z tym, że ma odblokowaną opcję wyższej prędkości. Jedyny mankament to, że przy każdym uruchomieniu daje monit, że jest nowsza wersja oryginalnej aplikacji i trzeba to pomijać, ale ja z tej aplikacji praktycznie nie korzystam, więc to znikomy problem względem korzyści :)

Btw, I have kqi 2 pro, but it seems to run a few km/h under what it shows on the display, probably because it thinks the wheels are bigger than they actually are (detected via GPS). Any idea for a fix? Have you tried changing the firmwares between models rather than regions?
@@Matthew-yv9yy I put the kqi 2 pro firmware on it. It was also a problem before I changed the firmware to the US version - it allows the scooter to _try_ to go faster, and it does, but when it says "28 km/h", GPS reads 24..26.

You can use an older version of the NIU app to toggle kickstart and cruise control: th-cam.com/video/_BDBVB2xjrk/w-d-xo.html However, I somehow accidentally turned kickstart off (and cruise on) and I used it to turn it back on, as accidentally pressing the accelerator and have the scooter start rolling is quite dangerous IMO. I did hold out on scooter FW upgrades as such, as I've had way too many experiences of stuff I use every day being removed with updates that add somehting I never asked for or wanted or fixing some random bug that I have a 1 in a billion chance of ever encountering, so this ability may have been removed on the firmware side as well.

very helpful video guys, please have a look on Yamaha Neo's if possible, a very solid scooter with high quality frame and suspension system but the speed is limited at only 50kmh :(

This firmware hack is for non-North American versions of the NIU scooters (e.g. European versions) that have their firmware crippled by default from NIU. In the US and Canada the latest versions of the app and the firmware already allow you to set the maximum speed that NIU allows. The scooters feel so solid that I suspect they are capable of even faster speeds than 38 km/h, but as far as I know there are no hacks currently available that can increase the top speed above 38 km/h.
We are in Australia with a KQI2. The link doesn't work for us. It says connection error. We have tried with wifi on and wifi off. We have already deleted the original app. I have changed my phone settings to allow app downloads from sources other than the play store. Can anyone help?

Were you able to correct this problem. I got my KQi3 pro US version maxing out at 32Kmph and I'd like to get it to max at 38Kmph.
The motor isn't as powerful as the kqi 3 MAX so it won't go above the 32kmh

Yeah its possible - Open the app > click on NIU Link > Customize your ride > Deactivate kick-start

Btw, I have kqi 2 pro, but it seems to run a few km/h under what it shows on the display, probably because it thinks the wheels are bigger than they actually are (detected via GPS). Any idea for a fix?
Have you tried changing the firmwares between models rather than regions?
pretty sure thats how you get the higher speed, scotter is confused about the speed so it lets you go faster, or you put the wrong firmware on it
@@Matthew-yv9yy I put the kqi 2 pro firmware on it. It was also a problem before I changed the firmware to the US version - it allows the scooter to _try_ to go faster, and it does, but when it says "28 km/h", GPS reads 24..26.

The Cruise Control ist only avaible at the Max Firmware .

You can use an older version of the NIU app to toggle kickstart and cruise control: th-cam.com/video/_BDBVB2xjrk/w-d-xo.html
However, I somehow accidentally turned kickstart off (and cruise on) and I used it to turn it back on, as accidentally pressing the accelerator and have the scooter start rolling is quite dangerous IMO.
I did hold out on scooter FW upgrades as such, as I've had way too many experiences of stuff I use every day being removed with updates that add somehting I never asked for or wanted or fixing some random bug that I have a 1 in a billion chance of ever encountering, so this ability may have been removed on the firmware side as well.

Dont do an Update , it will put you back to 25 km/h and maybe you get a Tuning lock

If I have the kqi3 pro and flash the firmware of the kqi3 max, can I get the 38km/h compared to my current speed at 32km/h?
This firmware hack is for non-North American versions of the NIU scooters (e.g. European versions) that have their firmware crippled by default from NIU.
In the US and Canada the latest versions of the app and the firmware already allow you to set the maximum speed that NIU allows.
The scooters feel so solid that I suspect they are capable of even faster speeds than 38 km/h, but as far as I know there are no hacks currently available that can increase the top speed above 38 km/h.

We are in Australia with a KQI2. The link doesn't work for us. It says connection error. We have tried with wifi on and wifi off. We have already deleted the original app. I have changed my phone settings to allow app downloads from sources other than the play store. Can anyone help?

heh, with that little difference it doesn't really matter if you unlock it or not... might as well save some of the energy.
