    What is the max payload (rider weight)? Can the OS be hacked to open up Mode 3 to increase max speed?

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the questions. From what I can find, Kerb weight is 58kg and gross weight (vehicle weight + payload) is 147kg. So by my maths that's 89kg. Not able to give you an answer re hacking the OS.

    • @NevoEVReviewIreland
      @NevoEVReviewIreland  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha! Thanks Constantinus. I do get it all mixed up and still do. Trying to get the terminology right but it's not what the public use day to day. Can I ask, what would you call the NIU? Also, would you agree that to call something a moped, it's needs pedals and a throttle (but the throttle works without peddling ie not a pedelec)

    • @Constantinus_Apollyon
      @Constantinus_Apollyon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NevoEVReviewIreland rumors also have that niu has a German motor brand (Bosch) and uses Sony or Panasonic batteries.
      Also a moped is a motorized peddler, 50cc etc
      An electric bicycle is just an electric bicycle, this here is an electric Scooter, but not a push scooter, also this model comes with pedals so it also comes as a "moped" style , but also you should care about kilometres out put and range, so when the category changes so does the name. Usually electric bicycles and mopeds are A2 category in most countries meaning no license needed and helmet is optional. En electric scooter or bike on the other hand belongs to other categories.
      It's a complicated matter that the "big thinkers" we all pay and vote for have no idea how to fix categorise or solve. Incompetent fools to the bones. That's how you end up with fatal incidents and a bad reputation in this new innovation.
      I believe that at least a minimum training on basic driving laws should be required and a certificate should be acquired to, so we avoid airheads on the roads and side walks.
