8:06 this just conjured an image of Luke, boombox above his head outside Mike's house, blasting the Wand of Gamelon soundtrack like he was in Say Anything.
Having Andy talk about unearthing keys, exchanging four silver keys for a bronze one, using golden locks to answer etc. ... PLEASE do an "unnecessary complicated quiz". Please. Just... please do it.
I want them to do a quiz that's completely normal for 2/3 competitors but the third has a bunch of insane rules, and at the end it's revealed none of them mattered.
there are a couple of older quizzes out there, the ones I remember most are "What happens next in this clip of us playing GTA together" "What happens next in this horror clip" "Wow we suck at stealth, how did this go wrong?" and one on video game food (not the titles, but vernacular premises). The titles all have the word "quiz" in them if you wanna search them out.
@@Sean-ne3gx I’ve seen some of their older quizzes but they’re usually year recaps or pretty specific. I like this general knowledge format in particular, more rewatchable :) thanks for the rec, tho!
My jaw dropped when Mike didn't immediately recognise the iconic OOT title music and because of this a pringle fell out of my mouth, Mike owes me 1x (one) Sour Cream and Onion pringle
That is a fair demand. I booed out loud when he missed it. Had he cost me a chip on top of the mound of disappointment he heaped on me in that moment, I’d be out for compensation too.

Just goes to show how in theme the zelda games are. I haven’t played a single one of them and simply based off the names I myself was able to get 4 out of 5 just making educated guesses based of the title and the feel of the themes and how they fit the scenery of what I think a game of that title would be like.
Surely it's not possible to get 4/5 on a round where you have all the options and have to place them in order? To get one wrong you'll have to have got another in the wrong place too.
@@TransmitHim they did not list one as "wand of gamelon" because they refuse to recognize that as a Zelda game, even without playing any of the other ones.
I love the resident evil style system w/ the keys being mentioned. It brings back wonderful memories of running around exchanging various items for others to unlock what u need
I got 14 points, so despite instantly recognising the Spider-man Miles Morales music I still just lost out to Mike! The Street Fighter round destroyed me as I've never played it and barely knew any of the characters - one of my answers was "the blonde gi guy" and two of them were just "I don't know". Really annoyed by the Yakuza and DMC5 ones because I was so uncertain and was seconds away from switching them the correct way round but decided against it at the last second D: Hopes and Dreams is one of my favourite songs from Undertale though so thanks for including it :D
Point the first: it's great to see the return of Quizmaster Andy and Offscreen Yellow-Subtitled James :) Point the second: my heart recognised Asriel's theme before my brain did because I straight up started crying before I knew why
We need a time when the hosts play games which they've never played, but should've. Things like Mike playing BOTW etc. Mostly because I want to see Andy play any Lord of the Rings game and be unimpressed.
Very much appreciated the use of the Final Fantasy victory themes after each round! I did abysmally at this, and the only ones I got right were complete guesses, apart from One-Winged Angel.
This video, along with the "So You Think You Know Resident Evil" and it's section about save room music has me convinced that Mike has Spanish-guitar-itis
I think my favorite part of the video was Luke snapping his head up when the vocals kicked in for Boss 6. Edited to add: This video was delightful and I'm so excited to see you guys making videos in your studio and having fun together.
Love this. I hope you do one for Jane and Ellen which involves a question on the themes from Tomb Raider 1 -3 and Anniversary as all 4 have different versions of the original theme. Maybe add DOX’s theme as well, as it’s a fan remake of 2. That gives you the 5 options then.
This was a great idea for a quiz, some music which I should of got, others that I surprised I remembered and those that have gone under the radar over the years. The nostalgia that this quiz invoked in me and many others is powerful indeed. Thank you for this great video oxbox.
wasnt entirely sure about the last 2 boss musics either until i heard the lyrics "bang bang pull my devil trigger" and i knew instantly that the last one was actually DMC xD
Lol the quiz hadn't even started yet and I guessed that 24 hour Cinderella from yakuza 0 was playing in the background goes to show who edited this video. 🤣
This was one of your best designed and run quizzes I've ever seen. Great choice of participants and quiz master, Andy shines in this role as his more subtle humor is often timing dependent and can get missed or overshadowed by the more bombastic members of the crew but with the quizzer and quizzed with James as off-screen peanut gallery the flow was immaculate.
Working with a professional baseball team and having attended my fair share of (non-NBA) basketball games, I can confirm that there should definitely be more Organ in baseball than basketball. What else does one play Take Me Out To The Ballgame with?
as a final fantasy 14 player, it made me very happy to hear the game’s victory fanfare at the end, it always gets forgotten about 😌 in my opinion it has some of the best music in any final fantasy game too!
And of course with Luke as the winner his favourite Corneria theme is playing in the background at the end, very nice touch! Also impressive Luke knew vaguely what Mike's favourite theme would be.
When I was little, my dad and I would play Mario Baseball on the little TV in our attic for what feels like hours. I assumed I’d forgotten the theme, but the second Andy played it I was back in the attic picking my team. The staying power video game music is so remarkable; similar to how smells can trigger memories, brief clips of game tracks-or songs that were on in the background while I was playing (every time I hear Hey Ya! I get flashes from a specific puzzle in Putt-Putt)-can bring back such vivid memories.
I was listening to this while my 5 year old daughter was eating nearby…when you got to bosses, she looked up at Boss 1 and asked if we could play that game again, since it had been a long time. She recognized it from me playing it a year ago. That’s my girl!! (I am a music teacher)
That's awesome. Plus it's good to stumble across music teachers in the wild, since it seems so many schools undervalue the arts these days. When I was in school my music teacher was beloved. She had a huge impact on me and others. When the budget was cut for her after school program, she put in her own money to help keep it going and we ended up doing fundraisers to keep our program alive. Her singing lessons helped me with a mild speech impediment and gave me the confidence in my voice to try for solos in our performances, several of which I got and knocked out of the park. Ms. Brandie, wherever you are, you helped a lot of students with your dedication and sacrifices to keep the chorus and drama programs alive. Your comment made my morning because it brought back memories of a beacon of light in my difficult childhood. I hope you and your daughter are doing well. 💗
That explains why I was supprised to find out that they were from England because they didn't sure too much terms from there. Also I don't here to much of an accent for some reason.
I honestly think Mike's familiarity with Street Fighter 2 hurt him in that round. They changed up the songs so much that, absent any other context, they're unrecognizable (at least from the short segments we heard), but you know the tunes, so you frantically grasp at any fragments that sound even vaguely familiar and trick yourself into thinking you heard connections that aren't really there. Luke, on the other hand, only really knew the characters, so it was more a matter of matching up the themes with the character seemed to fit it bet... the same strategy that served me so well in the Mario sports round!
The joy I get from the return of in-person, in-studio Quiz Videos, is just overwhelming. This is the OXBOX Content I live for! Also [SPOILER] damn, this was a close game until Luke unexpectedly DOMINATED the SF round! Both did better than I would've, and I've played more of the games in the questions 😂 I think only one I _immediately_ recognized was Ocarina of Time's Title Screen theme, bc that was the game that cemented the medium as my favorite thing. 2D games were fun, but I never 100%'d a game til Ocarina, Goldeneye and etc.

Their commitment to the bit is what makes them stand out to me. I love it, the sillier and more pointless the better.
