  • This is my tutorial on how to ride a Geared 50cc for the first time. I was looking for this type of video when I turned 16 however, I saw none for 50cc's. This is for beginners so it includes people starting to ride 125's, the basics are the same.

My bike is the Aprilia RS50 with 6 gears, it's a great bike to ride and I highly recommend it. If you do have any questions feel free to ask, I know doing your CBT is quite scary to begin with so by watching this I hope it helps you understand the basics.

Ross RS Just picked up my RS50 today, absolutely loving it! Was super surprised by how comfortable and fun it is to ride it, was kinda nervous since its my first sport model bike I've ever ridden, but it's just great!

Ross RS Mine is from 2005, so the older shape. The fairings are a bit worn, but mechanically its in a really good shape, and yeah, I think gearing is one of the most fun parts about having a motorcycle/moped. I got it for 400 euros, so I'd consider that a really good deal.

The benefits of riding geared 50cc are massive.
You avoid the huge learning curve when you take your A2 license 2 years later since everything is now muscle memory. All you have to worry about then is getting used to the throttle and power.

I love the look and style of the rs50, and it is my 16th birthday coming up soon and I've told my parents that I would like the rs50, I've been looking on other videos to see what bike I should get and it has had the aprilia rs50 at the top every time, I currently own a 140cc pit bike but it has too much power for me to learn on so I havnt been on it recently, but if I do get the rs50 later on I can hopefully learn on it and put that knowledge when I go out on my 140cc

While true to some degree it's a very silly thing to tell newbies.... We put the gear for the slide not the ride and it doesn't matter at the end if you like it or not, it matters if it will protect your coconut or not.

SightlessGaming you can tell youre in neutral if the bike is able to roll forwards and back with the clutch out, also going from 2nd down to first is only one click, from first to neutral is half a kick up, you will feel the difference between half a click and a full one when you start to ride

On your CBT it is broken into 3 main parts; theory, bike control and road ride. When you are learning to control the bike you ride around a carpark and practice handling the bike. The instructors watch and give you advice and they are stood to the side. The road ride is when you're riding on the roads with the instructors following on their bikes behind you.

I went from having no experience to jumping onto my Aprilia RS 50 and riding it with no problems. It takes time and practice however it's quite easy to learn.
