[ENGLISH] Aprilia RS50 50cc Sportbike Review, Test Ride and Owners Opinion

- This video is a review of the Aprilia RS50 from a 16 year old owner of the motorcycle, I will be covering top speed, handling, comfort, styling, braking, acceleration and much more. I recommend this bike to any 16 year old with a bit of extra money, however if you truly cannot afford an RS50 just stick with a regular moped until you are 17 when you can enjoy the extra power of a 125cc. i used to own this bike, it is bloody amazing, MPG is great, de-restricted I got 70mph out of mine. Fantastic first bike if you want a real introduction into the motorbike world.
i know this is an old comment but do you remember if it was easy to de-restrict if you did it yourself?
Aparently you just need to cut off a washer on the inside of the exhaust

Probably the most humble moment of my life was when i first rode to high school with 2 friends on a brand new Peugeot speedfight 3. My moped was more exhilarating that my first car. But one of my friends had an RS50and the first time riding it was insane to use a clutch even though 30 felt like 80. But yeah, being 16 with a bike/moped is the best experience I ever had when it comes to freedom

If you're 16 considering getting one of these. Get it but get it second hand.
I got mine brand new and crashed it twice. Fair bit of £ to repair it.
You'll only have it for a year or two and no matter how much your 26 year old self wants a brand new bike take it from me it's not worth it. You'll thrash it around even after promising you won't xD.

I'm 21 and want it for my first bike then plan to keep it for as long as I like it, if it's 2 years or 10 years (depends on maintenance of a small engine).
How come I've never heard of Aprilia before, their bikes are very beautiful and for a 50cc that thing is the best I've come by EVER!
Aprilia make amazing bikes haha, not just in the 50cc/125cc sector either, they make awesome superbikes too :)

@@HazaEgg They are great if you look after them, much more high maintenance than a standard 50cc, 2 stroke oil is expensive stuff and they use a bunch of fuel.
@@thatwolffe3802 I'm about to be 16 soon and I would like to get a bike like this, there are a few rules towards what you can get and what you can't, does a 16-year-old have to have a speed limit restrictor do you know? Or can you get anything that is a 50cc gears and all?
@@adam_lloyd0316 The rs50 restricted will struggle to keep up with traffic, can be dangerous. De-restricted they are good for 55 mph and much more useable. If you are in the UK get a full power one and dont worry about it. You will have to do your CBT on a manual bike with a clutch to be allowed to ride it.

My friend spent over £2000 for a 2013 RS50.. far too much. I just nabbed one for 500 but it needs some work, new clutch and starter motor. Can't wait to ride it :D Great video.

U paid £950!!! I know this was 5 years ago but they have sky rocketed up! I’m looking for on in a few month for my 16th and it’s about 800-1k for an old shape one, these never shape ones are about 1.4K
I got a 2016 one for 1.4k biggest mistake i have made, it had some underlying problems and still has them to this day and have progressively gotten worse to the point where it starts runs for 5 seconds then cuts out, im about the replace the fuel tap but if thats not the problem I genuinely dont know anymore
love the decent "L" and the tiny license plate they need you to mount on your bike in the UK

In holland you need to be 16(and licensed) for a 50cc but hold on! Its a restricted bike. It is allowed to 45kpmh, tuning it is forbidden. The cops are checking mopeds and are fining you if it goes too hard. And you need to be 18(and licensed) for a 125cc

15 and a half for theoretic test, 16 for actual license, need your theoretical licence for the full licence and cant drive without the practical stuff. fucking sucks

My friend bought one changed the gearing and modified it its fast little bike he's goes 91mph
If you're getting a 50cc, I'd suggest a beta rr50 track. Very nice supermoto, derestricted i goes about 80kmh so you won't build up a line behind you. You should get a bigger carb on it and play around with the gearing. It will wheelie, if you're in to that. My older bro could get the front up in 4 gear when he was moped age, I'm shit at wheelies so I didn't really do it. Sound is badass 2 stroke. Kyllä naukuu perkele
In denmark its legal to buy a mopet or scooter when youre 15 with a license, but youre max alowed to 18,6mph :/ when youre 16 you can tune it to around 28mph

Wealthy Big Penis My personal one, I had to do an engine rebuild when I first got it, it is currently in need of a new carburetor or I need to clean the one I have as it idles at 4k revs and turning the idle screw doesn't even impact it for some reason. However, I must admit when it goes its fucking great. If you are planning on buying one make sure you get one of the newer ones an RS4 50 or you get one that has been well looked after by someone who knows what they are doing.
With the cost of fuel I'm tempted yo get one of these as I passed my car test in January 2001. I can go out and buy it and not take any test or show L plates
Great vid! I have a few questions if that's ok? Firstly, I have just done my regular CBT (I'm 16) and I did it on a twist and go (automatic), am I ok riding a geared 50cc or do I need to do something else? Secondly, is your bike de restricted? If so have fast can it go?
+cian corry yeah, you can ride this bike even if you passed your CBT on a twist and go, and this bike is derestricted and does about 55-57mph on a flat with no wind. I've got a video on my channel where I hit 60mph with a tailwind so go check it out! Thanks for commenting :D

Yes its restricted because in UK they can't go faster than that legally. But the bike derestricted can do 60 easy

Lol, I have an Aprilia RS50, but an older model (1998), and I'm 15 and I can ride it. (Im Hungarian and you can get a license for 50cc bikes when you're 14)

Definitely! it shouldn't need an engine rebuild very regularly at all, it just depends on how well its looked after :)
