  • EDIUS 11.1 was released in February 2024 and added support for using an nVidia graphics card to assist in playback video and processing some effects. It also added the usage indicator back into the bin as well as fixing some bugs.

Thank you Sir David for another detailed post about the disappointing new GV Edius 11.
The most used codec in the latest video cameras is HEVC 4:2:2 10-bit (Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc.). Intel is the only one that hardware decodes it (since 11th generation).
Don't forget about the Intel Arc GPU cards. The Quick Sync from these cards is used by Resolve 18.6 and Adobe 2024 for decoding and encoding. What about Edius 11.1?
From my experience with footage from Sony A73S, Canon R5 and R5c, Nikon Z8 better to use tech from Intel vs Nvidia.

The fact that nVidia does not support HEVC 4:2:2 is one of the reasons you want EDIUS to then use Intel as well as nVidia - which is what it does. I cannot comment on the Arc cards as I do not have one, so that is something GV would have to say.

Myself and a few others have requested the ability to swap a project between 50p and 25p. XML Export EDIUS 11.Updates. This would be handy so then you can render out at either frame rate. Other programs allow you to do this. Thanks from a 13 year Edius user.

I would love that. I know its on the "todo list" but no idea when or if it will arrive.

I was a victim of a reinstall. The normal update-process left me with too many problems. After reinstall, it was OK again.

EDIUS can sync on audio, just from clips in the bin. If they are on the timeline just select them all, add to bin, then sync.

Sorry David, but this could have been in version 10. This is not a game changer

You say that about any new feature - "it should have been in the last one". It is something we have wanted for ages and now we have it, and it makes EDIUS work better. I don't think its a game changer but it is a good addition.

@@dvcltd Please fix the BIN. Now it's one solid bug... it's impossible not to admit it - look around, too many people are writing about it, even on your official forum. Please return to EDIUS the stability that it was before.

@@novoch360 I just use EDIUS sell it and make videos about it. I can't fix anything. I do edit in EDIUS 11 and can use the EDIUS 11 bin, BUT EDIUS X bin was better.

totly waste of money in edius all - no timeline nest - no color management in open edius window - no shut down option after exporting - no effects control in edius window - and jv job monitor export failed - whats do company with there custumers etc.

You should have used the trial version before buying to see if it suited you. You can nest timelines - I do it all the time. You can also manage colour and have control panels for the effects - but it rather sounds like you would prefer them to work like Premiere or Resolve. I am happy with the way they work in EDIUS myself.
