I have the basilisk and so does my coworker. Both started having issues with the mouse wheel after a year; recognizing an up wheel movement instead of down every few ticks and vice versa. "It's not two years ago", sure, but the products from a year ago still have baffling production quality issues. It's the main reason I'm here, to find an alternative for both gaming and work. Sadly the issues don't stop there: The charging dock would be a great addition too, but sadly the mouse is too heavy so the pins don't stay where they are supposed to be me, meaning I have to put something small beneath to balance it out and making the dock less steep. The alternative would be a USB mini (not C, mini) charging cable, BUT, and that's a big but, the charging hole in the front is hidden in a narrow fessure. Most cables are too wide to enter, so you're forced to use their official Razor cable. Absolute insanity! If it stays idle too long it also tend to lose its bluetooth connection for good 15 seconds. Doesn't happen often, but often enough to get annoying. The buttons behind the wheel are also a bit whimsy, you need to press them in a certain angle which you might add to the annoyance list. This sucks, cause the mouse itself is super comfortable, incredibly customizable thanks to a dozen of easily programable buttons and while it absolutely has the "gaming aesthetic", it still looks good. Especially with more neutral lights which are very easy to adjust. Till the wheel worked, it was my favorite mouse. But with the all things that don't work as they are supposed to, I just reached a breaking point. The production quality and design flaws of this product are just too lousy for the price and it certainly does not deserve to be so high on every list. As a comparison, my old mouse is a Roccat Kone from... 2010 I believe? While consumed to hell and back, it still works perfectly! I might give them another chance with a wireless one. Razor? Never again. Sorry mate, but we got burned bad here.
I have the HyperX Pulsefire Haste and this is what I have to say about it: ! BEWARE ! The mouse is absolutely phenomenal, but, after using it for around 2 years, it started to "freeze." What I mean by "freeze," is that it would completely stop responding, and almost restart itself as I've seen the lights flicker on and off before being usable again. My fix to this: taping/springing the connection area to about 3 cm out (1 inch). Research told me that the wire, because it was so smooth and flexy, actually had a weak connection. Besides this, the HyperX Pulsefire Haste is an incredible mouse. It's lightweight, responsive, smooth, and fitting for my medium sized hands (15 yrs as a relative scale). Thank you!
@@caradascamaikel7701 where the mouse connects to the wire is what i refer to as the "connection area." sometimes i still get the same problem you listed here, and all i do to fix it (a quick fix) is to just move that little protrusion around and pushing it into the mouse. the longer fix (answering your comment) is by grabbing roughly 3 or 4 inches of thin tape (you can cut wide tap in half) and wrapping it around the wire starting from the base of the connection area. Wrap once at the base then curve the tape to wrap around the next, untaped section. You will get some excess tape that will look weird but its a fix!

Thanks in advance!
I have the Razer Basilisk V3, stellar mouse overall for the price, and the best RGB. I even sticked some Razer universal grip tape to some parts because the surface, even though it repels fingerprints, is slippery. A bigger version would also be great, since it is a little small for my palm grip. Also, You forgot the "Smart-Reel" automatic switching between tactile and freespin scrolling with the electronic clutch.
The basilisk V3 is not working for me because the sensor is really bad at detecting different surfaces. Even with the software the range is even too bad with a mousepad and the wood of my table has some colour changes which the mouse cant handle. @@GamerStyle113 So sorry for you mate. But I can assure you the issue wont be solved on any surface.
